To watermark photos on your phone, choose the method that matches your goal: Samsung Galaxy’s Camera setting can stamp new photos automatically; Google Photos on Android and Photos on iPhone can add simple text or a signature to an existing image; Adobe Photoshop Express documents text and image watermarks with placement, size, and opacity controls on both platforms.
Choose the right watermark method

Add a watermark to future photos on Samsung Galaxy
Samsung’s Galaxy Camera watermark applies to photos taken after you enable it. Samsung’s support guide, updated April 15, 2026, gives this path:

- Open Camera and tap Settings.
- Turn on Watermark. Open its settings to edit the model name, toggle the date and time, change the font, or choose left, center, or right alignment.
- Check the preview and settings before taking photos. Samsung warns, “Once a watermark has been applied to a photo, it cannot be removed.”
Feature availability and exact menu names can differ across Galaxy models and software versions. If you do not see Watermark in Camera settings, your device may not offer this option in that location.

Add a text watermark to an existing Android photo
Google Photos Markup is suitable for a quick text label on an image already in your library. The labels can vary by app version:

- Open the photo in Google Photos and tap Edit.
- Open Markup; it may appear inside Tools.
- Choose Text, enter your label, and move the text box into position.
- Confirm the edit and save a copy.
Google says some editing features require Android 8.0 or later and at least 3 GB of RAM; certain tools may need more memory or a separate download. Availability varies by device. The documented workflow adds text, not a custom logo image.
Add text or a signature to an iPhone photo
For a simple annotation on an existing picture, use the built-in Photos Markup tools:

- Open the image in Photos and tap Edit.
- Tap Markup, then use the add-annotation control to insert text or a signature. You can also add other annotations, such as shapes or stickers.
- Tap Done to save.
This is a quick way to label an image, but Apple’s reviewed instructions do not describe dedicated logo-watermark placement or opacity controls.

Use a logo or control placement and opacity
Adobe’s Photoshop Express guide documents text and image watermarks on iPhone and Android. Use this route when you need a logo file or more control than basic markup offers:

- In Photoshop Express, open Preferences > Watermark.
- Choose one of the nine placement points, then adjust the watermark’s size and opacity.
- Select a preset, add text, or choose an image file for the watermark.
The guide was last updated September 24, 2024, so the app’s current interface labels may differ. Save the edited image and check that the watermark is legible without obscuring the photo’s important details.
Keep the watermark readable and useful
- Use a short name, handle, or copyright notice rather than a long message.
- Place the mark where it is visible but does not cover the subject. For a logo, check how it looks against both light and dark parts of the image.
- Use opacity controls when available to balance visibility with the photo. If your built-in markup tool has no such control, choose a contrasting text color and a less intrusive position.
- Keep an unwatermarked original if you may want to reuse or edit the image later. In particular, Samsung says its camera watermark cannot be removed after application.
Do you need any extra equipment?
No. The documented options are software workflows on a phone; a separate accessory or stylus is not required.
