For a straightforward marathon, complete each series before moving to the next. The franchise guide gives a series-to-series order; it does not ask viewers to alternate episodes or split a season around another title. In particular, finish both seasons of 1923 before starting Yellowstone. Once you reach the modern-era story, watch the flagship before either continuation.

The service split above is US-focused. Streaming rights are negotiated by territory, and a title can move services or have a different home in another country. Search each series by its exact title in the services available where you live, and verify whether all seasons are included before beginning a chronological marathon. Yellowstone: the modern flagship
The flagship is set in the 21st century and centers on John Dutton and his children. It is the bridge between the historical prequels and the two 2026 continuations. In the US, its separate Peacock home is the most important practical difference in the marathon.
Marshals: Kayce’s post-series path
Marshals follows Kayce Dutton after the events of Yellowstone as he joins an elite U.S. Marshals unit in Montana. That premise is why it belongs after the flagship rather than between historical seasons. Paramount lists it on Paramount+, and new episodes also air on CBS.
Dutton Ranch: a South Texas continuation
Dutton Ranch follows Beth Dutton, Rip Wheeler and Carter as they leave for South Texas and pursue a new life. It is the final stop in Paramount’s current chronological guide and should be saved until after the other post-Yellowstone continuation.

Choose chronological order if you want a family-history marathon

Choose release order if this is your first exposure

Choose a hybrid only for a specific reason

A spin-off is missing from your Paramount+ search
Confirm the spelling of the title, switch from a child profile to an unrestricted profile if necessary, and check that your subscription is active in the country where you are watching. Catalogs can change after a guide is published, so verify the current listing in the app or service website.
You are using Hulu and the prequels are locked
Hulu’s guide says that 1883 and 1923 require the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME add-on. Without that add-on, the titles may appear in search but remain unavailable to play.
You want to watch a broadcast episode of Marshals
Paramount identifies CBS as a broadcast outlet for new episodes. Broadcast schedules, local affiliates and on-demand windows vary, so Paramount+ is the more predictable route for following the series in order.
You are traveling internationally
Do not assume that a US subscription guarantees access abroad. Rights differ by country, and downloaded episodes can have regional playback restrictions. Check the destination country’s catalog before you leave.
