There is no single service listed as carrying every Lightning game. A regional broadcast, an exclusive national telecast, and an out-of-market game can have different providers, blackouts, and replay availability. The Lightning’s 2026–27 season guide and the NHL’s U.S. viewing guide are the best starting points; confirm the broadcaster for the specific game before subscribing.

Watch local Lightning games in the Tampa Bay broadcast area
For 2026–27, Tampa Bay’s regional broadcasts are produced with Scripps Sports. Local options identified by the team are free over-the-air television, cable or satellite, and a paid subscription through the official Tampa Bay Lightning app. Local availability depends on the broadcast territory, not simply on being in Florida.
Over-the-air television and local providers
In Tampa, the team guide lists Scripps’ The Spot on WXTP-TV channel 66.1 over the air and channel 66 on cable. Provider channel numbers vary; the guide gives these Tampa-area examples:

These are Tampa-area listings, not a promise that the channel number or game availability is the same throughout the region. Confirm the current lineup with your provider and check the game listing. The team’s season guide names the Channel Master Flatenna 35/Duo and Mohu Leaf Indoor HD TV Antenna as examples for over-the-air viewing. Reception varies by address and local signal conditions, so check likely station reception before buying an antenna. An antenna only helps with the over-the-air broadcast; it does not unlock games carried exclusively elsewhere.
Official Lightning app subscription
The Lightning lists its local app subscription at $66 per season for Tampa Bay Lightning, 2026. It is available only in eligible parts of the broadcast territory. Use the ZIP-code lookup on the team’s season guide before paying; the team’s Florida eligibility list includes ZIP codes beyond Tampa. The team guide lists iOS, Android, Fire TV, Apple TV, and Roku support, but app and platform availability can change.

The app is not an all-games pass. According to the Lightning app support page, access is subject to regional and national blackouts and covers regular-season games, selected preseason games, and the first playoff round. It excludes exclusive national broadcasts and later playoff rounds.

The Lightning says 14 games are nationally televised in 2026–27. Its season guide lists TNT and the ESPN/ABC family, with selected games also listed on ESPN+/Disney+/Hulu. The service depends on the actual broadcaster: the NHL’s U.S. viewing guide says ESPN+ games stream on ESPN+ and Hulu; TNT games are on TNT and stream on Watch TNT and HBO Max; ESPN games stream in the ESPN app; and ABC games stream in the ESPN app.

For regional games outside a team’s local market, the NHL lists NHL Center Ice and ESPN+. It also warns that certain regional games shown on NHL Network outside local markets are not available on ESPN+. National exclusivity and market restrictions mean that a local app subscription or a general streaming subscription may not carry the game you want. Check the game’s broadcaster and your local availability before choosing a service.
Watch a Lightning game after it airs
For games broadcast directly on the Lightning app, the team’s streaming support says the on-demand replay typically appears less than one hour after the live broadcast ends. Use pause and rewind without losing your place
The app’s controls depend on whether you open a specific game or the continuous live feed:
- Select a game tile: The game playback supports pause, rewind, and fast-forward.
- Open “Watch Live”: This is a linear feed and does not offer those controls. The team FAQ describes an approximately two-hour live buffer and warns that pausing for roughly more than ten minutes may cause the buffer to time out.
- Choose the on-demand replay: A full replay is a separate option after the live broadcast ends, subject to the app’s replay availability rules.
Quick checklist before you subscribe or tune in
- Find the specific game in the current schedule and note its listed broadcaster.
- Determine whether your viewing ZIP is in the Lightning broadcast territory; use the team’s ZIP-code lookup for app eligibility.
- For local over-the-air viewing, verify that the station is likely receivable at your address and confirm the channel with your provider if using cable or satellite.
- For a national or out-of-market game, match the broadcaster to the service identified in the NHL’s U.S. guide and check blackouts.
- If you plan to watch later, confirm that the game is eligible for a replay on the platform you intend to use.
