To watch NRL live while traveling, check Watch NRL, the official international streaming service, and confirm that your destination is eligible. For other rugby league competitions, use the event organizer’s official broadcaster information: rights vary by competition and country, so one subscription does not cover every match worldwide.
Find the right service for your competition and destination
- Identify the event. NRL season matches, NRLW, State of Origin, Super League and the Rugby League World Cup can have different broadcast arrangements.
- Check the destination’s authorized broadcaster. The NRL international broadcaster directory lists regional partners and the international streaming service. Local television partners may show selected regular-season matches rather than every game.
- Check the event organizer’s announcement for non-NRL tournaments. Rights for one event do not establish where another competition can be watched.
There is no single universal rugby league service for every competition and country. Check the live directory or event announcement for your destination and the current season before you travel.

Watching NRL overseas with Watch NRL
Watch NRL is the NRL’s official international streaming service. The Watch NRL Help Centre describes it as “The official international streaming service of the NRL is WatchNRL.” See its overseas streaming guidance and service page for current access details.
The service says it carries live and on-demand NRL matches outside Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific islands, subject to more detailed territory restrictions. It also lists sanctioned jurisdictions where viewing is unavailable, including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea, Belarus, Russia, Sudan, South Sudan, Myanmar, Venezuela and specified areas of Ukraine. Restrictions and availability can change, so check the official terms for your exact destination before buying. If Watch NRL is unavailable where you are, use the local rights holder listed by the NRL rather than trying to bypass territorial restrictions.

Watch NRL requires an active subscription, a compatible device and a strong internet connection. Download availability may help where hotel or mobile internet is unreliable, but check the app and current service terms before relying on it. A Chromecast streaming device is optional: you can watch on a phone, tablet or computer without one.

Listings and match coverage can change by season; several regional partners carry selected weekly regular-season fixtures rather than every game. Check the directory entry for your destination before assuming a broadcaster has the match you want.

Example: Rugby League World Cup 2026 rights
World Cup rights show why checking both event and destination matters. International Rugby League (IRL) announced Premier Sports rights for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup in the UK and Ireland, Canada, and 20 South-East Asian countries. These announcements describe those territories only; they are not a complete worldwide broadcaster list.
UK and Ireland
In its 18 August 2026 announcement, IRL said Premier Sports had exclusive rights in the UK and Ireland. It said the service would show all 18 men’s matches live, plus all England matches in the women’s and wheelchair tournaments and those tournaments’ semi-finals and finals, with more matches possible depending on scheduling. The announcement described a 53-match tournament across men’s, women’s and wheelchair competitions, kicking off in Sydney on 15 October. In its 28 July 2026 announcement, IRL said Premier Sports held rights in Canada and 20 South-East Asian countries. It named Premier Sports Asia for South-East Asia and a dedicated rugby streaming service launched at the start of 2026 for Canada. - Look up the specific match and its competition, not just the sport.
- Confirm the service is authorized and available in the country where you will watch.
- Check whether the listed coverage includes the fixture or only selected matches.
- Compare the pass length with your travel dates, and review auto-renewal and payment terms.
- Sign in and check your device setup before leaving; if offline downloads matter, confirm they are available through the service.
