To watch Prime Video, open or install the app on a supported TV, phone, tablet, or streaming device, then sign in or register it with your Amazon account. If your TV does not support the app, you can use a compatible streaming player instead. Exact support and features depend on the device model.
Choose where you want to watch
Amazon says the Prime Video app is available across a range of televisions, Amazon devices, mobile devices, Blu-ray players, game consoles, and streaming media devices. That does not mean every model in those categories is supported. Check your device’s app store and Amazon’s supported-device information for your exact model.

Set up Prime Video on a TV or Blu-ray player
- Open the TV’s or Blu-ray player’s app store and search for Prime Video. If the app is already installed, open it.
- Choose the sign-in or registration option shown on screen.
- Complete registration using the option available on your device. It may offer a QR code to scan, a code to enter on Amazon’s device-registration page, a prompt in the Prime Video mobile app while your phone is on the same home network, or direct entry of your Amazon account details.
- When registration finishes, browse and play a title in the app.
If Prime Video does not appear in the app store, check compatibility for your exact TV or player model. The app’s availability on some televisions does not guarantee support for every model or every feature.

Use a streaming device if your TV lacks the app
A compatible streaming media player is an option when the TV cannot run Prime Video directly. Install or open the app on the player, then register it using the on-screen instructions. Depending on the player, setup may use account sign-in, a QR scan, or a registration code.

Amazon Fire TV Stick is one possible way to add streaming apps to a TV; it is not necessary if Prime Video already works on the TV. Check the specific player model and its availability in your region before choosing it.
Watch on a phone or tablet
- Install Prime Video from the Apple App Store on a supported iPhone or iPad, or from Google Play on a supported Android device.
- Open the app and sign in with your Amazon account.
- Choose a title to play. For platform-specific availability and instructions, see Amazon’s watch-anywhere help page.
Cast Prime Video from your phone to Chromecast
- Connect the phone or tablet and Chromecast to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the Prime Video app on the mobile device and start playback or select a title.
- Tap the Cast icon and choose your Chromecast.
If the Chromecast is not listed, first check that both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Casting availability and other features can depend on the device.

Know what signing in does—and does not—include
Registering a device gives the app access to your Amazon account; it does not make every Prime Video title available at no extra cost. Some titles may be included with a subscription, while others may require a rental, purchase, or add-on subscription. Check the title’s listing and Amazon’s Prime Video help topics for details.

If sign-in or playback is not working
- Confirm that your specific TV, player, or mobile device is supported.
- Check that the device has an internet connection.
- For registration trouble, use the sign-in or registration choices displayed in the app; available methods differ by device.
- For an error or playback problem, use Amazon’s Prime Video help index and choose guidance for your device and issue.
