Start by checking the TV’s home screen and app store; if an app is missing, update the TV software and check support for your exact model. If it still isn’t available, a compatible streaming player is usually the practical next step.
How do I watch Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney+ on my TV?
- Check the home screen. Search the TV’s installed apps for each service and open any that are already there.
- Search the TV’s app store. If an app is missing, look it up in the store and install it if available. Netflix recommends searching the app store when its app is not already visible: Netflix: How to watch Netflix on your TV.
- Check for a TV software update. If the app is still missing, install a system update if the TV manufacturer recommends one, then search again.
- Confirm support for the exact model and country. App availability can vary by TV model, operating system, service, and territory. Support for one service does not prove that the other two will work.
- Use an external streaming player if needed. Connect a player that supports the services in your country to an available TV input, usually HDMI, then install the apps on the player and sign in.
The key requirement is an app-capable device: Netflix says, “To watch Netflix on your TV, you need a device with the Netflix app.” Supported device categories can include smart TVs, streaming sticks and boxes, cable boxes, Blu-ray players, and game consoles, but the exact model still matters. See Netflix’s TV guidance and the service’s current local device-support pages.

What if one of the apps isn’t in my TV’s app store?
Update the TV, then check its exact model
Some TVs may not offer an app even after an update. Check the service’s current help center for the TV model and operating system rather than assuming that every TV from the same brand has the same support. Netflix cautions that its app may not be available on some televisions and TV streaming devices made before 2015; that is a warning about some older devices, not a cutoff that applies to every TV.

Add a supported streaming player
If the TV still works but cannot run the app, connect a supported streaming player instead of replacing the TV. HBO Max’s Singapore help page describes this option: “You can also connect a supported streaming player (e.g., Apple TV) to stream HBO Max on your TV.” Device support and service branding can differ by country, so check the corresponding local help page before buying. The HBO Max supported-devices page for Singapore is regional guidance, not a guarantee of availability elsewhere.

Can I use a computer, phone, HDMI cable, or casting instead?
These can be alternatives, but none works universally. An HDMI cable carries video from a compatible computer or other source to the TV; it does not install the streaming apps or provide access by itself. You need a source device that can run the service and a compatible TV input. The service, source device, and TV also need to support the chosen playback method.
- HDMI from a computer: Use a computer that can access the service, connect it to a suitable TV input, and select that input on the TV. Whether playback works depends on device and service support.
- AirPlay: Use it only when the source device, TV or receiver, service, and territory support the route. Disney+ lists AirPlay as an option in its guidance, with availability varying by territory.
- Chromecast or other supported casting: The app and receiving device must support casting. HBO Max’s regional support page lists Chromecast and AirPlay/SharePlay as alternatives.
See the relevant regional guidance for HBO Max playback options and Disney+ supported devices. A listed option on a regional page does not establish that it is available on every device or in every country.

Which setup should I choose?
| Setup | Best fit | Check before you rely on it |
|---|---|---|
| Apps built into the TV | The TV has the services you want in its home screen or app store. | Confirm each app is supported on your exact model and in your country. |
| External streaming player | The TV lacks one or more apps but has a compatible input. | Verify the player supports all three services in your territory, and that the TV has the required input and picture-format support. |
| Computer connected by HDMI | You already have a compatible computer and want to use it as the source. | Confirm the computer can access the service and the TV input supports the desired resolution and playback. |
| AirPlay or Chromecast | Your source and TV or receiver support the service’s casting method. | Check current service, device, and regional compatibility; these methods are not interchangeable or universal. |
Before buying a player, check its exact model against the current device lists for all three services. Also check the TV’s HDMI inputs, the desired HD or 4K picture quality, and any plan or format requirements. Official documentation does not establish one device model as guaranteed to run all three services worldwide.

What do I need for 4K streaming?
App availability and 4K playback are separate checks. For Netflix Ultra HD on select Roku players, Netflix specifies a compatible 4K TV connected through an HDMI port with HDCP 2.2 or later, a plan that supports Ultra HD, steady internet of at least 15 Mbps, and playback quality set to Auto or High. Netflix also lists a 2014-or-newer TV for that select Roku setup. These are Netflix/Roku-specific requirements, not general rules for every service or player. See Netflix’s Roku Ultra HD guidance.
