Why the competition and your country matter
Football broadcast rights are sold by territory and competition, and a broadcaster may show only selected matches. A guide for one tournament or qualifying campaign is not a universal list for international football. UEFA’s 2026/27 Nations League guide and its guide to European Qualifiers friendlies ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup are examples for those competitions only. Concacaf publishes a separate, territory-specific guide for its 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Start with the organizer’s official “where to watch” page, not an app name or a search result claiming to show all matches. Then verify that the broadcaster carries your particular fixture. UEFA says exact matches for its European Qualifiers friendlies are subject to individual broadcaster schedules.

- Identify the competition and match. Note both teams and the competition, such as a Nations League game or a World Cup qualifier.
- Open the competition’s official viewing guide. Choose your country or territory; do not assume a guide for another competition or region applies.
- Check the broadcaster’s match schedule. Make sure the exact fixture is included and whether it will be live, on demand, or available only as highlights.
- Check access requirements. Look at the broadcaster’s current page for any account or subscription requirement and whether its app is available for your TV or streaming device.
- Verify the listing close to kickoff. Schedules and rights can change, so confirm the match appears in the local service schedule before you settle in to watch.
Examples: UEFA competitions in the UK
These examples illustrate how coverage can vary by match, even within a competition. They are not general UK rights lists for all international football.

For the second guide, UEFA states: “Exact matches available are subject to the individual broadcaster schedules.” Always check the listing for the specific fixture.
Example: Concacaf qualifiers
Concacaf’s guide lists services by country. Examples include Paramount+ and Telemundo services in the United States, Concacaf YouTube in Canada, and country-specific outlets in Central America. These are examples from its 2026 World Cup qualifier guide, not recommendations for other competitions. Use the guide to find the service for your location and match.

Watch through a smart TV app
Search the TV’s app store for the exact rights-holder named in the competition guide. A service being listed as a broadcaster does not guarantee its app is offered for every TV operating system or country. The available information here confirms UEFA.tv compatibility on certain platforms; it does not establish compatibility for every broadcaster listed above. Check the TV maker’s app store or the broadcaster’s official support page for your model and region.
UEFA.tv: supported platforms and local listings
UEFA lists UEFA.tv for Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Hisense VIDAA smart TVs, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, as well as the web. This platform support does not mean UEFA.tv carries every match: rights and availability still depend on the territory and content. Use its Live Calendar to see which live matches are available where you are. UEFA says its service and content, including live commentary, are in English.

To use UEFA.tv on a supported TV platform, create or sign in to a MyUEFA account. UEFA’s TV instructions describe completing sign-in with the code shown on the screen in a mobile browser or by scanning the on-screen QR code. If the TV does not have the right app
A compatible streaming device can be an alternative when the TV cannot run the broadcaster’s app. For UEFA.tv, Amazon Fire TV is among UEFA’s listed platforms. Confirm the exact device model and current app availability before buying or setting it up. The device provides an app route; it does not provide rights to a match or replace any account the broadcaster requires.

If a UEFA.tv stream on a Hisense VIDAA TV stops working after the network reconnects, UEFA’s guidance is to exit and relaunch the app. This is a UEFA.tv-specific recovery step; other apps may have different support instructions.
What to check before kickoff
- The official guide covers the competition and your country.
- The named broadcaster lists the exact fixture, not merely the competition.
- The match is available live at the time you expect to watch, rather than only as a replay or highlights.
- The app is available for your TV or streaming device, and you know whether sign-in or a paid account is required.
- The service’s local schedule still shows the match.
Do not treat a VPN as a supported way to bypass regional availability. The official guides describe territory-specific viewing options; they do not establish that bypassing those restrictions is supported or permitted.
