Where to watch the official GTA 6 trailers and gameplay
Rockstar’s GTA VI page lists both trailers and the Extended Look, making it the simplest starting point for avoiding mislabeled reposts.

- Trailer 1: Rockstar announced it on December 5, 2023. The announcement originally named PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as target platforms and gave a 2025 release window; that window is no longer current. Read Rockstar’s announcement.
- Trailer 2: Rockstar published its announcement on May 6, 2025, with a link to the GTA VI site. Read Rockstar’s announcement.
- The Extended Look: Rockstar says it is now playing on Netflix and available on YouTube and the official GTA VI site. You do not need Netflix if you prefer either of Rockstar’s other listed destinations. See Rockstar’s update.
Rockstar’s schedule announcement said the Extended Look would premiere on Netflix on August 27, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET, then on its official YouTube channel and GTA VI site at 9 p.m. ET. The later update confirms those viewing options are now available. See the schedule announcement.

How to watch GTA 6 trailers in 4K—or the highest available quality
- Open the video from Rockstar’s GTA VI page or another official destination Rockstar names.
- In the YouTube player, open Settings, choose Quality, then select the highest resolution offered. YouTube supports manual quality changes on computer, TV, and mobile, but the available options vary by video and device. Some devices do not support every high-quality format, including 4K. YouTube’s quality settings guide explains how to change playback quality.
- If the resolution you want is missing, try a compatible device or app. Let the video load before deciding how sharp it looks; playback can take a moment to settle.
- For a TV setup, make sure the display and playback device support the output you want. PlayStation explains how to enable 4K and adjust PS5 video output in its PS5 4K resolution guide. This setting does not establish that a particular GTA VI upload is available in 4K.
A 4K display can show high-resolution video when the source and playback chain support it, but it cannot add detail absent from the stream. Rockstar has not specified the resolution or HDR format of every trailer version in the sources cited here, so check the quality menu for the specific upload you are watching.

Which destination should you use for the Extended Look?
Rockstar lists its site, YouTube, and Netflix as official destinations. No controlled comparison establishes that one service always delivers better quality than the others. Choose based on access, the resolution your device offers for that version, and the screen you want to use.
| Destination | Access consideration | Quality consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Rockstar’s GTA VI site | Direct official option; Rockstar lists the Extended Look there. | Available resolution depends on the video player and device. |
| YouTube | Official option; use the video linked by Rockstar or its official channel. | Check Settings → Quality. Options depend on the upload and device. |
| Netflix | Official option for viewers who already have access to Netflix. | No source cited here compares its quality with the other versions. |
What “captured on PS5” means for viewers
Rockstar describes the Extended Look as “Captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.” That identifies the footage’s capture basis; it does not specify the resolution, HDR format, or frame rate of each online version. You do not need a PS5 to watch the published video—the official viewing options include YouTube, Rockstar’s site, and Netflix. Rockstar’s August 27, 2026 update gives the capture description.
