Find the official broadcast page for the exact tournament, choose your country or territory, then check the listed broadcaster and Watch.Hockey for live or replay access. Rights, match coverage and availability vary by event and location.
Find the service showing your match
- Identify the tournament and match. Streaming rights are sold by competition and territory, so a service that shows one event—or one national team—may not carry another.
- Open the event’s official “Where to Watch” or broadcast page. Choose your country or territory and look for the relevant match. The FIH Pro League listings and 2026 FIH World Cup listings provide territory-specific information.
- Check the broadcaster’s own service. Confirm that it offers the match live, and whether a full replay is available. A broadcaster may show only selected games rather than the full tournament.
- For FIH events, check Watch.Hockey as well. FIH describes the platform as a live and on-demand service that complements broadcast partners. Check the event page for availability in your territory before purchasing access.
Can you watch field hockey free?
Some matches are free to watch, but availability depends on the event and country. For example, Channel 4 said selected England, Scotland and Wales matches at the 2026 FIH World Cup would stream live on Channel 4 Sport YouTube for UK audiences. This is a specific tournament arrangement, not a guarantee of free access to other matches or in other countries.

Channel 4 also described its 2024–2027 FIH Pro League partnership as covering all England men’s and women’s matches and selected neutral matches on Channel 4 Sport YouTube. Check the current event listing to see whether the game you want is included.

What Watch.Hockey offers—and what to check
FIH’s June 2, 2025 announcement describes Watch.Hockey as offering live hockey, extended highlights, playback controls and an on-demand video library. Its device list at that time included web, Android, Android TV and Amazon Firestick. Because app support can change, check the current Watch.Hockey information for your device before subscribing or buying hardware.
#1 Best Overall
- Field hockey package with everything the junior player needs to start playing
- Includes an HPR 50 stick, Black Prime Stick Bag, Adult Reversible Shin Guard, 2pk Balls
- HPR 50 stick is great for beginners
- Stick is 100% fiberglass and great for new players
- Perfect way to outfit your young player for their first practice
Coverage is not universal. FIH said in June 2025 that broadcast agreements geoblocked matches in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka, although some video-library, highlights and statistics access remained available there. Restrictions can vary by event and change over time, so check the specific event page rather than assuming the platform will carry a live match in your country.
FIH’s 2025–26 Season Pass announcement listed the Pro League, 2025 junior World Cups, 2026 World Cup qualifiers and other competitions, with matches available live and on demand. That was a season-specific offer; it does not establish that one current pass includes every FIH event.

National broadcasters may show only some games
Look closely at the match-level notes on the event’s territory listing. The 2026 FIH World Cup page, for example, says S4C and BBC ALBA limit coverage to Wales and Scotland matches respectively. It also lists TVE-Teledeporte in Spain and CBS in the United States and Canada for matches involving their national teams. Those are examples of that event’s rights, not a rule for those broadcasters’ other coverage.

- Match and event: Verify the exact fixture is included; a tournament pass or broadcaster may cover only selected games.
- Country: Confirm you can access the stream from your location. Rights restrictions and geoblocking can prevent live viewing.
- Live versus replay: Check whether the offer includes a full match replay, highlights, or live coverage only. Replay windows are not established universally.
- Price and duration: Review the current event terms and pass price before paying. Do not assume an older season’s offer or price still applies.
- Device: Confirm current app or browser support for the television, phone or streaming device you plan to use. A streaming stick is optional if you can watch on a supported web or mobile device.
If the stream is unavailable
- If the event page names a local rights-holder, try that broadcaster’s official website, app or channel rather than assuming Watch.Hockey has the live feed.
- If Watch.Hockey offers highlights or library videos but not the live match, check whether territory restrictions or the event’s rights explain the difference.
- If the broadcaster has only national-team fixtures, look for another listed service for the specific game.
- If you already bought access, verify the pass includes the event, your location is eligible and your device is currently supported before purchasing anything else.
Broadcast listings and platform features can change. For the most reliable answer, use the official event page for the match and country you intend to watch, then confirm access on the service itself.
