How to Watch Cricket Highlights and Full-Match Replays Legally Online

To watch cricket highlights or a full-match replay legally, look up the exact match on its official competition website or the ICC.tv guide, then use the authorized service listed for your country. Rights vary by event and territory, and a highlights listing does not mean a complete replay is available.

Start with the match and your viewing country

Before choosing a service, identify the competition, match and country where you will watch. The same event can have different rights-holders in different territories, and one service may offer highlights while another carries live coverage or replays.

The International Cricket Council’s ICC.tv guide lists tournaments, series and matches available to stream within a viewer’s region. Its event listings can also state whether coverage is free or identify geographic exclusions. Check the listing for your specific event rather than assuming that access to one ICC stream applies to every match.

How to find an authorized highlight or replay

  1. Open the official competition or cricket-board website. Find its video, watch or broadcast information for the match you want.
  2. Check the current ICC.tv guide. Search for the event and confirm that the listing covers your country and the format you want: live video, highlights or on-demand replay.
  3. If the match is not listed, follow the event’s official broadcaster listing. Go to the named broadcaster’s own website or app and search its video or replay catalogue. Use current event-specific information; old rights announcements are not a reliable guide to present access.
  4. Confirm that it is a full replay. A highlights page establishes access to clips, not necessarily the complete match. Look for an explicit full-match or replay listing.
  5. Check the terms before paying. Confirm the exact match, country, price, account or payment requirements, replay availability period and supported devices on the service’s current page.

Highlights and full-match replays are different offerings

Highlights

Highlights are edited clips or packages, often available through the competition, cricket board, rights-holder or an official video channel. The ICC’s “What’s on ICC.tv” guide, dated 18 January 2024, describes its on-demand library as including “a variety of match highlights, ICC films and documentaries.” That is an official description of the library, not a guarantee that every match’s highlights are available in every country.

Full-match replays

A full replay is the complete match made available on demand. Check that the provider names the full match and that it is accessible in your territory. The ICC.tv app listing says subscribers in selected regions can buy pay-per-view passes for tournaments, tours, series, entire matches or a single day; availability of a pass for a particular match and country must be confirmed in the app listing. The available official information does not establish a universal replay-retention period or standard price.

Why the right service depends on your country

Cricket media rights are licensed by event and territory. For example, a historical ICC highlights notice dated 22 February 2022 listed ICC social accounts for global match highlights, BBC Sport in the UK, and ESPNcricinfo in the USA and Canada. Those are examples from that notice, not a current directory of rights.

Similarly, an ICC broadcaster page dated 6 June 2023 named event-specific partners including ICC.tv in selected regions, Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland, Willow in the USA and Canada, and SuperSport in Sub-Saharan Africa. These examples show why a provider must be checked against the current event and your location; they do not establish current rights for a new tournament.

Australia and ICC events

The ICC Annual Report 2023–24 describes Prime Video as the home of ICC cricket in Australia through the end of 2027, and reports 448 live games at no extra cost to Prime members for the 2024–31 broadcast cycle. That figure concerns live games, not a promise that a specific match replay is available. Check Prime Video’s current catalogue for the event and replay you want.

What to verify before subscribing or buying a pass

  • Event and match: Make sure the listing names the correct tournament and match.
  • Territory: Confirm eligibility in the country where you will watch.
  • Video format: Distinguish highlights, live coverage and a complete replay.
  • Cost and access: Check whether viewing is free, requires a subscription or uses a pay-per-view pass.
  • Availability period: Confirm how long the replay remains accessible; no universal retention period is established.
  • Account, payment and device terms: Review the provider’s current requirements before committing.

Do not assume a subscription bought in one country will work while travelling or that a VPN changes the service’s licensing terms. The official information cited here does not establish a universal cross-border or VPN rule, so follow the provider’s terms for your account and location.

Use official sources, not copied uploads

For legal viewing, use the competition, national cricket board, official broadcaster or authorized streaming platform named for your territory. Unlicensed streams and copied uploads may not be authorized by the rights-holder and can disappear without notice. If an official page only lists highlights, keep looking for an explicit authorized full-replay option rather than treating clips as proof that the full match is available.
