To unlock live streaming, phone-verify your YouTube channel in YouTube Studio: Settings → Channel → Features → Features that require phone verification → Verify phone number. Enter the code YouTube sends by text or voice call. Verification is only one requirement: your channel must also have no live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days, and the person starting the stream must be at least 16.
Verify your channel in YouTube Studio
- On a computer, sign in to the Google account that owns or manages the YouTube channel, then open YouTube Studio.
- Select Settings → Channel → Features.
- Under Features that require phone verification, select Verify phone number.
- Choose text message or voice call if YouTube offers the choice. Enter the code you receive and complete the prompts.
- Return to the channel’s feature status in Studio. If this is the first time live streaming has been enabled, YouTube says activation may take up to 24 hours.
YouTube lists live streaming among the features unlocked by phone verification. See YouTube Help: See and unlock features with phone verification.
Who can verify the channel?
For a Brand Account, the owner or a manager can phone-verify the channel. For a channel that is not a Brand Account, only its owner can do so, according to YouTube’s phone-verification guidance.
What verification does—and does not—unlock
Phone verification is the step for unlocking intermediate features such as live streaming. It is not the same as advanced-feature verification, and it does not clear a live-stream restriction or waive other eligibility rules.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Advanced features require phone verification first, followed by either sufficient channel history or identity verification with ID or video where those options are available. YouTube says most active channels already have enough channel history, and ID or video verification is not offered to everyone. Details are in YouTube Help: Get access to intermediate and advanced features.

Recent live-stream restrictions
YouTube’s general live-streaming requirement is that the channel has had no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Check channel standing and notices in Studio. Phone verification does not override a restriction. See YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Age of the person starting the stream
The person starting a live stream must be at least 16. YouTube also describes safeguards for streams featuring 13–15-year-olds when a visibly accompanying adult is not present; consult YouTube’s live-streaming requirements for the applicable details.
The 50-subscriber rule applies to mobile streaming
To stream from the YouTube mobile app, a channel needs at least 50 subscribers, phone verification, no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and a supported device. YouTube lists Android 8.0+ or iOS 8+. These are mobile-app requirements, not a general subscriber minimum for every method: YouTube also supports webcam, encoder and console streaming. A computer webcam stream requires a computer with a webcam. See YouTube Help: Create a live stream on mobile and Get started with live streaming.

Mobile limits for channels below 1,000 subscribers
YouTube says mobile streams from channels with 50–999 subscribers may have a limited audience, and their archived streams are set to private by default. After a channel reaches 1,000 subscribers, it may take several weeks for those limitations to be removed. These limits concern mobile streaming, not the phone-verification process itself.
Feature eligibility can change
Review the Features or Feature eligibility display in Studio. Access can change after Community Guidelines or copyright restrictions, so look for current channel notices as well as the verification status.

If the verification code does not arrive
- Check the number and delivery method. Confirm that you entered the intended phone number and try the other offered delivery method, if available.
- Consider carrier support. YouTube notes that not all mobile carriers support its text messages or voice calls. Follow the troubleshooting options in YouTube Help: Verify your YouTube account.
- Check the annual limit. A phone number can be linked to no more than two channels per year for verification. If it has reached that limit, use another eligible number.
Choose the right way to start your stream
Once the channel is eligible, choose a method based on where the stream will originate and what equipment you have. The mobile app has the specific subscriber and device rules above; YouTube also supports streaming from a computer webcam, an encoder or a console. A webcam is relevant only if you choose computer webcam streaming—it does not verify the channel or unlock live streaming.

If your goal is to keep uploaded video playing as a 24/7 YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a cloud option rather than a way to verify your channel. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from its cloud, so your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. It does not stream from a camera.
