A Corpus guide published September 7, 2026 for game version 1.0.12 lists the Standard Boss Lure for $280 and says it is available on Islands 3–5. An earlier NerdsChalk guide, checked against version 1.0.4 on August 24, 2026, also places it on Island 3 at the same price. Corpus’s boss-lure guide is the newer of those price references; check the in-game shop before spending, since prices and stock can change.

Read the full item name in the shop. The similar names make it easy to buy the regular fishing lure when you need the boss version. The older NerdsChalk walkthrough also reports $280 on Island 3, but is based on an earlier game version.

- Go to Desert Island / Island 3. If available, speak with the Grillmaster before starting; guides associate this character and island with the Blue Shark side quest.
- Buy the Standard Boss Lure. Confirm the item name and current shop price before purchasing.
- Equip it on your fishing rod. Cast with the boss lure to trigger the Blue Shark encounter, then reel in the encounter.
- Defeat the shark and collect its body. A guide updated August 28, 2026 reports 2,300 health for the Blue Shark and recommends a maxed Uzi. That is guide advice, not an official weapon requirement or a guarantee that the figure is unchanged.
- Return the body to the Grillmaster. The cited walkthroughs say this hand-in activates the grill/cooking activity.
The lure’s reuse behavior is not consistent across the guides. Check your inventory after the attempt and be prepared to buy another if it was consumed.

A Steam Community guide reports that cooking raises an item’s value to 1.5× before burning reduces it. Treat that as community-reported guidance, not an official or universal guarantee.
How to Fish is a Dazed Games title. Its Steam store listing describes fishing, buying gear, quests, and boss progression, but does not document the lure price or the specific quest mechanics.
