A recent article describes the Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s “hidden feature” as running two Pokémon GO apps in parallel. Google’s published Pixel guidance does not confirm built-in app cloning, and the available sources do not verify that Pokémon GO can run as two simultaneously usable instances on this phone. Pixel Fold split screen and Android’s Private Space are different features, with different limits.
What the reported Pokémon GO trick is—and what is verified
The claim comes from a recent article titled “Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s hidden feature is fueling my Pokémon Go addiction”, which describes “two Pokémon Go apps in parallel.” That is a report of an app-cloning approach, not a capability established by the Google Pixel documentation cited here.

Google documents ways to multitask and a way to install an app separately in Private Space, but those facts do not establish that Pokémon GO can be launched twice and used simultaneously on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The cited sources do not confirm Pokémon GO compatibility or successful parallel operation.

| Option | What it does | Does it establish two Pokémon GO instances? |
|---|---|---|
| Split screen | Shows two apps at once on Pixel Fold. Google’s steps select a different second app from the taskbar, overview, or app list. | No. The instructions cover using two apps, not opening duplicate copies of one app. Google Pixel Help |
| Bubbles | Opens an app in a small floating window. Google says bubbles are available on Pixel phones, including Fold, running Android 17. | No. This is a floating-window multitasking feature, not documentation of app cloning. Google Pixel Help |
| Private Space | On Android 15 and later, a separate app installation can have separate app data. Google’s Community answer gives the path Settings > Security & privacy > Private space, then set up Private Space and choose + Install. | Not confirmed. The answer does not verify that Pokémon GO installs or runs alongside the regular installation. Google Pixel Community |
How to try a separate installation with Private Space
Private Space is the closest documented option here to a separate app copy, but treat it as a possible installation—not a confirmed Pokémon GO dual-instance method. The Google Community answer describing it is dated August 21, 2026.

- Set up Private Space, following the prompts on your device.
- Open Private Space and select + Install to install an app separately.
- If you try Pokémon GO, check whether it is available to install and whether both installations behave as you need. The cited guidance does not confirm either outcome.
Do not confuse this with Pokémon GO’s Explorer Gadget
The Explorer Gadget is a Pokémon GO feature, not a Pixel app-cloning tool. In its announcement, Pokémon GO says Trainers at level 20 and higher can use it to attempt catches with regular Poké Balls and spin PokéStops while the game is not actively open. Its activity limits depend on Trainer level, and the announcement describes a phased rollout, with availability to be shared later. A paired accessory and the Explorer Gadget cannot be active at the same time.
