How to Use Gyre with a YouTube Premiere or Scheduled Live Event

Gyre can schedule a prerecorded video or playlist to play as a YouTube livestream. A YouTube Premiere is different: it is an uploaded video scheduled to play on its own watch page. The reviewed Gyre documentation does not establish that Gyre creates or schedules Premieres directly. Choose the workflow based on what viewers should experience, or use YouTube Live Redirect to hand viewers from a live stream to a Premiere.

First choose the right kind of scheduled event

What you want Use What viewers see
Play prerecorded content as a live broadcast Gyre Scheduler and a YouTube livestream event A livestream event carrying video or a playlist sent through Gyre
Release one uploaded video at a shared time YouTube Premiere A pre-release watch page with reminders, countdown, and chat
End a livestream by moving viewers to a scheduled video YouTube Live Redirect The live stream ends and viewers are sent to the Premiere, if configured

Gyre’s Streams Scheduler handles livestream start and end times. YouTube’s Premiere schedule applies to an uploaded video. The reviewed documentation does not confirm direct Gyre Premiere creation or scheduling, so treat the Premiere as a separate YouTube Studio workflow.

Check your channel and event before scheduling

  • Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time livestream access can take up to 24 hours to become available, according to YouTube’s encoder live-stream instructions.
  • Decide whether the event should be public, unlisted, or private, and verify the chosen visibility in the current YouTube or Gyre interface.
  • Confirm you have rights to stream every video, image, and audio track in the program. A scheduled or prerecorded format does not exempt a stream from YouTube’s copyright rules.
  • For a Premiere, check format limits: YouTube says Shorts are not supported, and Premieres do not support 360/VR180 or output above 1080p. See YouTube’s Premiere guide.

Schedule prerecorded content as a livestream with Gyre

Gyre describes an authorized YouTube connection workflow and a manual setup using YouTube stream settings. Controls can differ between them, so follow the route shown in your current account rather than assuming every label or option is identical.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Choose a connection route. In Gyre, select YouTube and authorize the Google Account that owns the channel, if using its channel-authorization workflow. For manual setup, create the YouTube live event first and connect it to Gyre with the event’s stream URL and key.
  2. Set the broadcast details. Enter the stream parameters requested by Gyre, then review the event name, privacy, and any other details in the active interface.
  3. Add the program. Select the uploaded video or playlist to broadcast. Check the sequence and confirm that the intended content is available before scheduling.
  4. Create a YouTube event if using manual setup. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room, choose Manage, then Schedule stream. Create a new stream or reuse settings, then copy the stream URL and stream key into the intended Gyre fields. YouTube documents this path in its encoder setup guide.
  5. Set the schedule in Gyre. Add the broadcast to the Streams Scheduler and set a start time, end time, or both where available for your setup. Older Gyre manual instructions also describe a scheduled, public YouTube broadcast with auto-start and optional auto-stop; verify the current controls for your chosen route.
  6. Check readiness before the start. Confirm the scheduled event, content source, privacy, and preview/readiness in the relevant interface. YouTube recommends setting up encoder streams at least two hours ahead and starting an encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled event; these are preparation recommendations, not a performance guarantee. For a cloud workflow, check the event and preview state rather than assuming a local encoder instruction maps exactly.

Protect the stream key

A stream key tells the encoder where to send the feed and allows YouTube to accept it. Treat it like a password: enter it only in the intended service, and reset it if it is exposed. YouTube says channel owner or manager permissions are required to reset a key. See YouTube’s stream-key instructions.

Create the Premiere separately in YouTube Studio

  1. Upload the video in YouTube Studio and enter its video details.
  2. Choose Schedule, enter the date and time, then select Set as Premiere.
  3. Configure the countdown if desired, then save or schedule the Premiere.
  4. Share the public watch page so viewers can visit beforehand to set a reminder, comment, or chat.

YouTube recommends scheduling a Premiere at least 24 hours ahead so viewers around the world have a chance to see its thumbnail in their subscriptions feed. The setting sequence is described in YouTube Help’s Premiere instructions.

Hand viewers from a Gyre livestream to the Premiere

If you want the livestream to lead into the scheduled video, create the Premiere first. Then configure YouTube Live Redirect on the source livestream and choose that Premiere as its destination. This is a YouTube handoff feature, not a Gyre Premiere-scheduling feature. YouTube advises allowing viewers about two seconds after the livestream ends for screens to reload to the Premiere.

Troubleshoot scheduling problems

  • The channel is not available to livestream: verify the channel and check for a restriction in the preceding 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours for access to become available.
  • The stream does not appear at the scheduled time: check that the correct YouTube event and Gyre broadcast are scheduled, that the stream key and URL belong to that event, and that the event visibility is correct. For manual setup, review the event’s auto-start and auto-stop settings if present.
  • The Premiere does not show in Gyre: create or schedule it in YouTube Studio. The available Gyre documentation does not establish that Gyre creates or schedules a Premiere directly.
  • The redirect does not lead to the Premiere: make sure the Premiere exists before configuring Live Redirect, and confirm it is selected as the destination on the source livestream.
  • The Premiere format is rejected or unavailable: check that the upload is not a Short and is not 360/VR180 or above 1080p.
  • The stream key may be exposed or incorrect: verify the key belongs to the intended event; reset a compromised key in YouTube with owner or manager permissions, then update the connected service.
