How to Use Google One Dark Web Monitoring: The Feature Has Ended

You can no longer use Google One Dark Web Report: Google stopped monitoring for new results on January 15, 2026, and the report became unavailable on February 16, 2026. Google said associated data would be removed, so the old dashboard and its results are not a way to check your information now.

What happened to Google One Dark Web Report?

Google discontinued the feature. Its notice said feedback showed the report offered general information but not helpful next steps, and that Google would focus on tools with clearer, more actionable guidance. Google’s Help article still describes how to create a profile, but those instructions are historical rather than a working setup guide.

  • January 15, 2026: Monitoring for new results ended.
  • February 16, 2026: The report became unavailable and associated data was to be removed.

As a result, there is no current Google One setting or subscription that turns this monitoring back on, and you should not expect to retrieve old report results.

How the old monitoring profile worked

Before shutdown, eligible consumer Google Accounts could create a profile in the Google Account Security area. The historical steps were to open the Security section, select “Dark web report,” start monitoring, choose optional personal details, confirm the profile, and review matches in the report. That interface is no longer available.

The profile could include an account email and optional details. The old report could show matches involving information such as a name, address, phone number, email address, username, or password. Google said results appeared in redacted form, and that the types of information scanned varied by country or region; its filtering instructions also included fields such as date of birth and credit card number. These are descriptions of the discontinued service, not evidence that Google scans those details now. Historically, Workspace and supervised accounts were excluded, and availability varied by location.

What to use instead in your Google Account

Google pointed users toward other security and privacy features. They can help protect an account or manage personal information online, but none recreates the discontinued dark-web breach report.

  • Security and Privacy Checkups: Review account security and privacy settings and address issues surfaced by the checkup.
  • Passkeys and two-step verification: Add stronger sign-in protections to make unauthorized access harder. A hardware security key can support authentication for people who choose that option, but it does not monitor breaches.
  • Google Password Manager and Password Checkup: Manage saved passwords and check them for security issues through Google’s password tools.
  • Results about you: Find certain personal information appearing in Google Search and request its removal. It does not search breach dumps and is not a replacement for dark-web monitoring.

Google’s original announcement described the former report as checking whether details such as a name, address, email address, phone number, or Social Security number appeared in dark-web data, with an initial rollout to Google One members in the United States. That launch description is historical, not current availability.
