Use Beaver Builder’s built-in AI Chat for a single page you can watch and refine on the visual canvas; use the Beaver Builder AI MCP connection when Claude needs to work across a site or create native Beaver Builder rows, columns, and modules. Both routes keep the result editable, but they have different setup requirements and produce different module types. The workflow below shows how to choose a route, connect Claude, write prompts that produce usable layouts, refine the result safely, and verify it before publishing.
Choose the right Claude–Beaver Builder workflow
There are two supported ways to combine Claude with Beaver Builder AI. The distinction matters because it determines where you work, how much setup is required, and whether the result uses native Beaver Builder modules.

| Use case | Best route | What you get | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| One landing page or a page you are already editing | Built-in AI Chat | A streamed layout in the open Beaver Builder page, followed by visual refinement on the canvas | Built-in chat creates Custom modules rather than native modules |
| Several pages, templates, design-system work, or source material outside WordPress | MCP connection with Claude Desktop or Claude Code | Claude can create and edit pages, design systems, Builder templates, Beaver Themer layouts, and native rows, columns, and modules | More administration and setup; there is no equivalent live canvas view inside Claude |
| Bespoke HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or a generated settings form | Either route, with a Custom module requested explicitly | A generated section containing code and an automatically generated settings form | Custom code needs more careful maintenance and review |
Beaver Builder describes generated work as a fully native part of the layout, but “native” in this context means it remains editable in the builder. For the specific module type, native Beaver Builder modules are available only to an MCP-connected agent; the in-editor chat produces Custom modules.
Check prerequisites before connecting Claude
Install and verify the version and permission requirements before you troubleshoot prompts. The Beaver Builder AI integration lists these baseline requirements:

- [Deep Bass with Clear Vocals] High-performance drivers produce punchy bass while keeping vocals clean and detailed for everyday listening.
- WordPress 6.7 or later.
- PHP 8.2 or later.
- Beaver Builder 2.11 or later.
- A WordPress user with the
unfiltered_htmlcapability.
MCP adds two more requirements:
- WordPress 6.9 or later.
- The MCP Adapter plugin.
The cloud-authorization route for MCP also requires HTTPS. For Themer headers and footers, you need a valid Beaver Builder license and Beaver Themer. Pretty permalinks must be enabled without index.php in the structure.
In Beaver Builder AI settings, add an API key and provider where prompted. The documented provider choices include Anthropic, OpenAI, and OpenRouter. Use the provider and account that your site administrator has approved, and keep keys in the WordPress settings intended for credentials rather than in page copy or prompts.
Route 1: generate one page with Beaver Builder’s built-in AI Chat
This route is the fastest way to create a first draft when the page is open in Beaver Builder and you want to see the result immediately.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Open or create the page. In WordPress, create a new page or open the page you want to redesign, then launch it in Beaver Builder.
- Open AI Chat. Use the AI Chat control in the Beaver Builder interface.
- Describe the page outcome. State the audience, business goal, required sections, content hierarchy, and any design-system rules. The official example is a landing page for a local coffee roaster with a hero, story section, and contact form.
- Review the design direction. Let the streamed result finish, then inspect the page on the canvas instead of accepting the first draft blindly.
- Refine in chat or on the canvas. Ask for one focused change at a time, or open the normal Beaver Builder controls to edit copy, images, spacing, typography, buttons, and responsive settings.
- Save a draft. Keep the page unpublished while you verify links, content, responsive behavior, and accessibility.
Built-in chat is especially useful when you need a visual feedback loop. You can see whether the hero is too tall, whether a two-column section feels unbalanced, or whether a call-to-action is buried, then ask for a targeted adjustment and immediately inspect the change.

A prompt that gives the first draft enough direction
Build a Beaver Builder landing page for a local coffee roaster. The goal is to drive online bean subscriptions. Use the active design system, its colors, fonts, and spacing tokens. Include a concise hero with one primary CTA, a three-step subscription explanation, an origin-story section, customer proof, an FAQ, and a contact form. Keep the heading hierarchy accessible. Make the layout responsive for desktop, tablet, and mobile, and leave every section editable in Beaver Builder. Create a draft for review.
Replace the example business with your actual purpose and content. Name the sections in the order they should appear; otherwise Claude may choose a hierarchy that is visually attractive but weak for scanning or conversion.
Route 2: connect Claude through Beaver Builder AI MCP
MCP is the better route when Claude must operate beyond one open page. It can work with pages, Builder templates, design systems, and Beaver Themer layouts from Claude Desktop or Claude Code. It is also the route to request native Beaver Builder rows, columns, and modules.
Connect the site
- Confirm the MCP prerequisites. The site must meet the WordPress 6.9-or-later requirement, have the MCP Adapter installed, and meet the general Beaver Builder AI, PHP, HTTPS, license, and permalink requirements.
- Open the connection settings. In WordPress, go to Settings → Beaver Builder AI → MCP Connection.
- Choose an authorization method. Select cloud authorization when your environment supports it, or choose manual connection if your administrator manages the connection details directly.
- Complete authorization. Follow the generated connection flow and keep the resulting connector information available.
- Add the connector in Claude. In Claude Desktop or Claude Code, add the custom connector produced by the Beaver Builder AI settings.
- Test with a low-risk request. Ask Claude to inspect an existing draft or create a small draft page before granting it a broad site-wide task.
MCP is administrator-oriented. It does not provide the same live canvas view as the in-editor chat, so plan to switch back to WordPress and Beaver Builder for visual inspection after Claude makes changes.
Ask MCP for native modules explicitly
Do not assume Claude will infer your implementation preference. Include a sentence such as:

- [Dont Hesite to Order] 24 hours customer services and professional technology team are standing by
Use native Beaver Builder rows, columns, and modules wherever possible. Keep the result editable in standard Beaver Builder settings panels. Save it as a draft for review.
If a custom-coded section is intentional, say so instead:
Use a Custom module for the interactive pricing calculator. Include the required HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and generate a settings form for the editable values. Keep the rest of the page native.
Write prompts Claude can implement reliably
A useful prompt specifies six things: the page type, business purpose, content hierarchy, design constraints, responsive behavior, and implementation preference. Omitting any one of these leaves a major decision to the model.
1. Identify the page and its job
Say whether you need a home page, service page, campaign landing page, archive, header, footer, or reusable template. State the action the visitor should take. “Build a page for our company” is too vague; “Generate a service page whose primary action is booking a consultation” gives Claude a measurable direction.
2. Supply the content hierarchy
List the sections in order and identify the primary and secondary calls to action. Include the approximate length of headings, whether testimonials are available, and which sections are optional. This prevents placeholder copy from becoming the visual center of the page.

3. Name design-system constraints
Tell Claude to use the active design system, including its color tokens, fonts, spacing, button styles, and border treatments. If an existing page must be matched, describe the reference page and the elements that must remain unchanged.
4. Define responsive behavior
Request explicit desktop, tablet, and mobile behavior. Examples include stacking columns at an earlier tablet breakpoint, keeping buttons full-width on small screens, reducing hero padding, and preserving readable line lengths. “Make it responsive” alone does not specify what should change.
5. State accessibility expectations
Ask for a logical heading hierarchy, keyboard-reachable controls, visible focus states, meaningful link labels, descriptive image alt text, and sufficient color contrast. These requests do not replace your own review, but they give Claude concrete acceptance criteria.
6. Choose native or Custom implementation
For maintainability and client editing, request native modules. For bespoke interactions or code-driven visuals, request a Custom module and identify the code boundary. If the request goes through built-in chat, remember that its generated sections are Custom modules even when the page remains editable.

Build a Beaver Themer header or footer with Claude
Beaver Themer work belongs in the MCP workflow. The official tutorial’s pattern is to name the site, use the existing WordPress menu, provide the logo URL, describe the left-logo/center-menu/right-CTA structure, request native modules, and specify tablet and mobile behavior.
Create a Beaver Themer header for [site name]. Use the existing WordPress menu and this logo URL: [logo URL]. Build a three-part layout with the logo on the left, the primary menu centered, and a right-side CTA button labeled “Book a consultation.” Use native Beaver Builder modules and the active design system. On tablet, reduce spacing and keep the CTA visible; on mobile, use the site menu pattern and stack or collapse elements without horizontal scrolling. Save the Themer layout as a draft.
Claude-created Themer layouts are saved as drafts. After creation, open the layout in Beaver Builder, inspect every row, column, and module, and verify the Themer location rules. Rules can target the entire site, individual pages, post types, archives, or other areas, so an incorrect rule can change more pages than intended.
Refine the generated layout in controlled passes
Refinement works best as a short loop rather than one giant revision request.
- Establish structure first. Ask for the first-pass hierarchy and section order before polishing wording or decoration.
- Inspect the rendered page. Check the canvas at realistic browser widths and look for excessive whitespace, weak contrast, awkward line breaks, or a buried primary action.
- Make one focused request. Examples: “Reduce hero top and bottom padding by approximately one spacing step,” “make the primary CTA more prominent using the design-system button style,” or “stack the testimonial columns at the tablet breakpoint.”
- Recheck the affected section. A change to column width can alter text wrapping, image cropping, and the position of the next section.
- Use native settings where available. For a native module, adjust typography, spacing, column widths, buttons, menus, and responsive stacking in the normal Beaver Builder panels. These settings remain understandable to the next site editor.
- Reserve code changes for Custom modules. If a section requires bespoke HTML, CSS, or JavaScript, ask Claude to modify that Custom module specifically rather than adding scattered code to unrelated modules.
Focused refinement prompts
Keep the current structure. Reduce the hero padding on tablet and mobile, but leave desktop spacing unchanged.Use the design-system primary color for the main CTA and increase its visual prominence without adding a second primary button.Move the proof section above the feature grid, preserve the existing copy, and keep the heading hierarchy valid. On mobile, stack the two columns earlier, keep the image above the text, and prevent horizontal scrolling.Replace placeholder image alt text with descriptions based on each image’s role; do not invent product claims.
Native modules versus Custom modules
| Characteristic | Native Beaver Builder module | Custom module |
|---|---|---|
| How to request it | Use an MCP-connected agent and explicitly request native rows, columns, and modules | Request a Custom module in built-in chat or MCP |
| Editing experience | Opens in familiar Beaver Builder settings panels | Uses generated markup, styles, optional JavaScript, and an automatically generated settings form |
| Best fit | Client-maintained pages, standard content, reusable layouts, and design-system tokens | Bespoke interactions or visuals that standard modules cannot express |
| Responsive controls | Uses normal module and column settings | May require generated CSS or JavaScript in addition to settings |
| Maintenance risk | Lower for a team already familiar with Beaver Builder | Higher if custom code is changed without understanding its dependencies |
Choose native modules when another editor must be able to adjust the page without reading generated code. Choose Custom modules when the design genuinely needs code that the standard module set cannot provide.
Verify before publishing
AI output is reviewable and is not auto-published. Treat every generated page or template as a draft until a person has checked it.
- Content: Confirm names, prices, claims, contact details, button labels, and legal copy against the approved source.
- Structure: Check one logical H1, sequential headings, sensible section order, and no accidental placeholder text.
- Links: Activate every navigation, CTA, form, and social link; verify destinations and tracking requirements.
- Images: Check crop, resolution, ownership, loading behavior, and alt text. Decorative images should not receive misleading descriptions.
- Responsive layout: Preview desktop, tablet, and mobile. Look for clipped text, horizontal scrolling, oversized gaps, unreadable type, and controls that are hard to tap.
- Keyboard and focus: Tab through menus, buttons, forms, dialogs, and any custom interaction. Make sure focus remains visible and the order makes sense.
- Contrast and readability: Inspect text over images, muted labels, button states, and focus indicators rather than relying on the desktop appearance alone.
- Themer rules: Confirm the header or footer applies only where intended and does not override unrelated templates.
- Performance: Check image sizes, unnecessary scripts, and repeated custom styles before the page goes live.
The official material documents review and preview steps, but it does not establish an independent accessibility, conversion, speed, or time-saving benchmark for this Claude–Beaver Builder workflow. Treat quality as something to verify on your own site, not as a guaranteed result.
Troubleshoot common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| AI Chat is missing or generation fails immediately | Version, provider, API-key, or capability mismatch | Confirm WordPress 6.7+, PHP 8.2+, Beaver Builder 2.11+, the configured provider and API key, and the user’s unfiltered_html capability. |
| MCP connection cannot be completed | Missing MCP-specific requirement or unsuitable authorization route | Confirm WordPress 6.9+, the MCP Adapter plugin, HTTPS for cloud authorization, and the connector details under Settings → Beaver Builder AI → MCP Connection. |
| Claude creates a Custom module when native modules were expected | The request used built-in chat or did not state the implementation preference | Use MCP and explicitly request native Beaver Builder rows, columns, and modules. |
| The layout looks right on desktop but breaks on phones | Responsive behavior was left implicit | Ask for specific tablet and mobile stacking, spacing, typography, and button behavior, then preview at both widths. |
| A header or footer appears on unintended pages | Incorrect Beaver Themer location rule | Open the Themer layout, review its location rules, and narrow the target to the intended pages, post types, archives, or site areas. |
| A Custom module is difficult to edit | The section needs clearer settings or should have been native | Ask Claude to expose the recurring values in the generated settings form, or rebuild the section with native modules where possible. |
A practical end-to-end workflow
- Confirm versions, PHP, permissions, license, HTTPS, and permalink requirements.
- Decide whether the task is one-page visual work or site-wide/native-module work.
- Prepare approved copy, image URLs, menu names, design tokens, and responsive requirements.
- Use AI Chat for a single open page, or connect MCP for Claude Desktop or Claude Code.
- Prompt for the page purpose, section hierarchy, design system, responsive behavior, accessibility expectations, and native-versus-Custom preference.
- Save the first result as a draft and inspect it in Beaver Builder.
- Refine one issue at a time, using normal module settings for native sections.
- Run the content, link, keyboard, contrast, responsive, image, and Themer-rule checks.
- Publish only after the final human review.
This division keeps the fast visual loop where it is most useful and reserves MCP for the broader automation and native-module work that the in-editor chat cannot provide.
