A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11To run prerecorded videos as a continuous YouTube live stream with Castr, create a Pre-Recorded Stream, add and order your MP4 files, choose Loop, connect YouTube as a destination, enable it, and start the stream. Castr plays the uploaded media from its cloud, so you do not need to keep a computer or encoder running. The steps below reflect Castr’s setup documentation published July 8, 2026; confirm current plan limits before subscribing.
Before you start
- Prepare your videos. Castr’s documented prerecorded upload flow supports MP4. You can upload files from your computer or choose recordings already in Castr’s video-hosting library. Storage, file count, and duration limits depend on the subscription. See Castr’s prerecorded-stream setup guide.
- Check YouTube livestream access. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. Review YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Clear the rights for every element. That includes music and other licensed material. YouTube’s livestream terms make the content provider responsible for having the necessary rights, including applicable music licenses. A prerecorded broadcast is not exempt from copyright or Community Guidelines.
- Choose the right format. Use a loop for one repeating video or playlist. If you need a timetable with distinct programs or live inserts, Castr describes a separate TV Playout workflow; check its current plan and output constraints before building it.
How to create a repeating stream in Castr
- In the Castr dashboard, open Pre-Recorded Streams, choose New Pre-Recorded Stream, and name the stream.
- Add video by uploading MP4 files or selecting recordings already hosted in Castr. If your plan allows multiple files, add them and drag them into the order you want. The interface shows the playlist’s total duration.
- Choose Loop for continuous playback. Castr’s scheduling guide says an enabled Infinite Loop starts immediately and loops to the selected platforms. Date & Time is for a future scheduled start, not a continuous loop. If scheduling, check the device’s time zone: Castr’s scheduler uses it. See Castr’s scheduling-mode guide.
- Add YouTube as a destination using the connection method Castr offers, then make sure the YouTube destination is switched on.
- Start the stream and check the YouTube destination to confirm it is live and playing the expected video. Castr describes prerecorded playback as a standard live broadcast delivered from its cloud.
Loop or TV Playout: which Castr workflow fits?
| Your need | Castr workflow | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Repeat one video or a short playlist continuously | Pre-Recorded Stream with Loop | Confirm loop availability and playlist, file, storage, and duration limits for your plan. |
| Run a timetable of programs, potentially with live inserts | TV Playout routed into a Castr livestream | Confirm schedule, output resolution and frame-rate constraints, destinations, and plan limits. |
Castr’s prerecorded-stream offering lists storage, media count, maximum file duration, concurrent streams, playlist capacity, and loop access as plan-dependent; its product materials describe infinite loop as available on Premium and higher for that offering. TV Playout is a distinct workflow with its own scheduling capabilities. Because packaging can change, compare the current plan matrix or confirm with Castr before purchase. See Castr’s prerecorded video streaming page and Castr’s TV Playout page.

Keep a separate archive of the broadcast
Do not count on YouTube to save one complete replay of a 24/7 stream. YouTube says a stream under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep the original media or make a separate archive if you need a reliable record. This is a YouTube archive limit, not a Castr setting. See YouTube’s archive guidance.

Does a 24/7 prerecorded stream qualify for monetization?
No streaming service can guarantee YouTube Partner Program admission or earnings. YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams and reviews whether a channel’s work is original and authentic. Repetitive or mass-produced material can be ineligible, and reused-content review is separate from whether a video receives a copyright claim. YouTube may review a channel’s overall theme and library, so owning or licensing the videos does not, by itself, guarantee YPP approval. Review the channel monetization policies.

Common setup problems and fixes
- The stream will not start on YouTube: verify that the channel is eligible to livestream, reconnect the destination if needed, and make sure its toggle is enabled in Castr.
- The playlist does not repeat: check that you selected Loop, rather than Date & Time, and that infinite looping is available on your current Castr plan.
- A file will not upload or the playlist is limited: confirm it is an MP4 and check the plan’s current storage, file-count, and duration limits.
- A scheduled start happens at the wrong time: check the time zone on the device used to configure Castr’s scheduler.
- The full broadcast is missing from YouTube replays: a stream longer than 12 hours may not be archived, so use the original video files or a separate recording for an archive.
- A monetization application is rejected despite having content rights: copyright clearance and reused-content/originality review are separate issues. Read YouTube’s channel-level monetization policies and assess the channel’s overall library.
