Use FFmpeg’s concat demuxer to list relaxation-video clips in the order you want, then apply -stream_loop -1 before the playlist input to repeat that sequence while FFmpeg renders a longer file. The clips must have compatible streams for this method; if they differ, normalize and re-encode them instead. If you only want repeat playback on YouTube, its player can loop a video or playlist without creating a new file.
Choose between making a long file and looping playback
A playlist file is useful when you need one longer video to upload or distribute. It tells FFmpeg which clips to read and in what order; it does not itself create a video. Rendering also requires enough disk space for the output and time to process it.

Create the playlist file
Save a plain-text file named relaxation.ffconcat beside your media files. Put the clips in playback order, one file directive per line:

If you include it for automatic format recognition, it must be the exact first line, with no leading spaces or byte-order mark. Quote or escape paths containing spaces or special characters. Keep paths simple and check that each named file exists. The FFmpeg Project documents the concat demuxer’s playlist syntax at its demuxer documentation.
Check whether the clips can be concatenated directly
The concat demuxer is most suitable when every file has the same streams, codecs and time bases. Differences can cause errors or playback problems; inaccurate reported durations or mismatched audio and video lengths can introduce gaps or timestamp issues. Do not assume that different clips will join cleanly just because they share an MP4 extension.

- Check that every clip has the same kind of audio and video streams, with compatible codecs and time bases.
- Check that audio and video durations align as expected, especially at clip boundaries.
- If the inputs do not match, use a decode-and-re-encode workflow to normalize them rather than relying on stream-copy concatenation. FFmpeg’s FAQ distinguishes the concat demuxer approach from using the concat filter when re-encoding is needed: FFmpeg FAQ.
Render a short test before starting a long export. Listen and watch across each join, not just at the beginning, to catch silence, missing streams or abrupt timestamp changes.

-movflags +faststart relaxation-loop.mp4-stream_loop -1tells FFmpeg to repeat the input indefinitely. It is an input option, so place it before the input it applies to.-f concatselects the concat demuxer, and-i relaxation.ffconcatsupplies the playlist.-safe 0relaxes path safety checks. Use it only with a playlist you trust and control; do not use untrusted playlist contents.-t 02:00:00limits the output to two hours. Change it to the duration you need; without a finite output limit, the infinite input loop has no natural end.-c:v libx264 -c:a aac -ar 48000encodes H.264 video and AAC audio at a 48 kHz audio sample rate. Confirm that the needed encoders are available in your FFmpeg build.-movflags +faststartmoves MP4 metadata toward the beginning of the file to support playback startup. The output isrelaxation-loop.mp4.
FFmpeg options apply according to their position, so moving -stream_loop after -i would not apply it to that input as intended. Check the installed version’s command-line documentation at ffmpeg.org, and make a short test render before committing to the full duration. This command is a pattern, not a guarantee that every set of source files will work unchanged.
Set upload encoding choices deliberately
YouTube’s recommended upload settings include an MP4 container and H.264 video; for audio, it lists AAC-LC or Opus and a 48 kHz sample rate. It also recommends progressive scan and keeping the frame rate consistent with the recorded content. See YouTube’s recommended upload encoding settings.

Choose the output resolution and frame rate based on the source material and desired result. YouTube’s page includes resolution-specific bitrate recommendations, so select the applicable recommendation for your actual resolution and frame-rate category rather than applying one bitrate to every file. YouTube converts uploads for playback, and processing time can vary with file properties and traffic; no particular FFmpeg setting guarantees a processing time or playback result. Upload only media you have rights to use
Use footage and audio that you own or are authorized to use for the planned upload. Verify the license terms for each source asset, including any restrictions on commercial use, modification or redistribution. YouTube’s formatting specification says files delivered through the partner workflow it describes must come from the copyright holder or an authorized representative; that statement is scoped to that workflow, not a complete explanation of every uploader’s rights: video and audio formatting specifications.

Troubleshoot common failures
- FFmpeg cannot recognize the playlist: check that the file is plain text, that the optional version header is the first line exactly, and that the playlist path passed to
-iis correct. - A file cannot be opened: verify each path relative to the playlist’s working directory. Quote or escape special characters, and use
-safe 0only for a trusted local playlist when required. - The clips fail at a join or produce gaps: compare their streams, codecs, time bases and audio/video durations. Normalize and re-encode incompatible inputs rather than expecting direct concatenation to fix them.
- The export ends too soon or runs indefinitely: set the intended finite duration with
-t. Keep-stream_loop -1before-iso it repeats the playlist input. - The YouTube upload is still processing: processing depends on the file and traffic. Confirm your chosen format and settings against YouTube’s guidance; changing a setting cannot guarantee an immediate finish.
