Use an Epic Seven tier list as a dated shortlist for a specific mode—not as a universal ranking or a build order. Check what each hero contributes to your team, whether that combination suits the encounter, and whether your account can support the gear it needs.
Why an Epic Seven tier list is only a starting point
Tier lists are judgments, not official in-game grades. Epic7DB says its 2026 PvE and PvP rankings draw on top-ranked player opinions and the site’s experience; the Epic Seven Wiki labels its rankings a September 2026 snapshot and notes that balance changes can shift them. Epic7DB’s use of the word “official” does not mean Smilegate endorses its rankings: the site’s own description grounds them in player opinion and experience, while the Wiki describes community rankings as unofficial. Epic7DB’s tier list and the Epic Seven Wiki tier list are third-party resources.

Use a rank to identify candidates worth considering, then decide whether one fits the job your account needs. A high placement by itself does not tell you whether the hero works with your other units, suits a particular enemy, or can reach the stats its build calls for.

Start with the exact content you want to clear: story progression, a particular Hunt, Abyss, automatic Arena, Guild PvP, or real-time RTA. PvE and PvP lists answer different questions, and even two PvP modes can need different teams. The Epic Seven Wiki notes that automatic Arena and real-time RTA do not share a team. Pocket Gamer likewise advises using a list for the relevant game instance and distinguishes story PvE from Arena PvP.
#1 Best Overall
- Epic is a fantasy card gam which aims to recreate the TCG-style experience from a single box, with no additional purchases required
- Epic is a card game designed to start quickly but also to reward deep, strategic plays.
- In Epic, you take on the role of an elder god, in conflict with other elder gods.
- The cards in your deck are your champions, who fight for you, and events, which represent your will imposed on the mortal realm.
- The turn sequence is easy but there are many options to choose from
Pocket Gamer’s guide is labeled version 1.0.974 and updated September 16, 2026. Treat that as a date and version marker, not as evidence that a ranking predicts performance. Pocket Gamer’s Epic Seven tier list is one example of a dated guide; check the update date on whichever list you consult.
Read the rank in the context of its own scale
There is no shared grading standard across tier-list sites. Epic7DB describes its tiers in terms of both broad usefulness and more specific strengths; another guide may use tiers to identify current picks or counters. An A rank on one site is not automatically equivalent to an A rank on another.
Rank #2
Before relying on a placement, check what the page says its tiers represent, which mode it covers, and when it was updated. If it does not explain its criteria, treat its ordering as a shortlist rather than a precise measurement. The reviewed guides do not establish tier-list accuracy, hero win rates, or a definitive live-meta ranking.

Translate each candidate into a team job
Look beyond the hero’s name and rank. Ask what the unit contributes to this team and what the activity requires. Useful broad roles to consider include damage, protection, healing, control, cleansing, and setup; this is a practical way to compare team coverage, not an official or exhaustive role taxonomy.
Rank #3
- SEVEN ARMIES DESTINED FOR BATTLE: Claim your right to the Iron Throne with one of seven Noble House armies. Each army is composed of 45 finely crafted game pieces (315 game pieces total) represented by two different sculpted designs
- Over 600 unique game pieces including armies represented by noble Houses
- 3 different ways to play: Skirmish, Dominion, World at War
- 2-7 Player | Ages 17+ | 60+ Min Play Time
For story teams, Pocket Gamer offers a broad starting idea: a tank, a healer, and area damage. It is not a fixed recipe for every stage. Check the actual objective and enemy mechanics, then see which job your current lineup lacks. A highly ranked attacker may add less than a support who enables the rest of the team to survive or do its work.
Check whether the combination fits the encounter
Evaluate a team as a combination, not a collection of individually high-ranked heroes. Ask whether its roles cover the encounter and whether its mechanics address the objective. For Hunt content, compare examples for the specific Hunt when available rather than copying a team simply because its names appear often.
Rank #4
- Buy, Sell, Trade and Assemble mutants like Wolverine, Jean Grey, and Morph to build your superpowered dream team.

- Chance and Community Chest cards renamed Friends of Humanity and Prime Sentinel.
- Features X-Men ’97 animated series illustrations and design, perfect for collectors and Marvel superfans.
- Ages 8+ | 2–6 players | Playtime 60+ minutes
Hideout’s Hunt page lists 249 teams and attributes its records to official strategy-guide data for clears from September 10–16, 2026. It shows multiple four-hero compositions in the same Hunt category. This is a sample of recorded teams presented by a third-party page, not a controlled performance study, win-rate calculation, or proof that one composition is best. Hideout’s Hunt team records can help surface possible role combinations, but the encounter and your available heroes still matter.

Make gear feasibility part of the decision
A ranking does not tell you whether you can build the hero well enough for the proposed job. Hideout’s game overview, labeled updated October 2026, describes teams of four heroes and six gear pieces per hero, and notes that gear substats affect power. The Epic Seven Wiki guide hub connects Hunt farming with gear and progression.
Best Value
Compare a candidate’s build demands with the equipment and stats your account can actually field. The reviewed sources establish that gear matters, but they do not provide sufficiently detailed current, hero-by-hero builds or numeric thresholds for every matchup. Do not infer exact stat targets from a tier placement; use current build guidance for the specific hero and content if you need those details.

Promotion, skill-ups, and gear allocation have opportunity costs. The Epic Seven Wiki advises against promoting every highly ranked hero and recommends a progression order that prioritizes a Hunt core and useful support before later PvP investment. That is an unofficial guide’s practical recommendation, not an in-game rule.
When two candidates look close, compare them on the factors that affect your account:
- Activity and encounter: Which one addresses the content you are actually trying to clear?
- Team job and synergy: Does the hero fill a missing role or work with units you already use?
- Gear fit: Can your available equipment support the build the job requires?
- Access to teammates: Do you have the supporting heroes or workable substitutes?
- Investment cost: Is the upgrade more useful now than improving a unit already close to a progression goal?
This is a decision framework drawn from mode, role, team, and gear considerations—not a published official scoring formula.
A practical checklist for using a tier list
- Name the job. Write down the activity and, where relevant, the specific encounter: for example, a Hunt, story stage, automatic Arena, or real-time RTA.
- Open a list for that activity. Avoid carrying a PvP placement into a PvE decision, or assuming one PvP team transfers between modes.
- Check the page’s tier definitions and date. Read how that site uses its ranks, note its update date, and do not compare grades across sites as if they share a scale.
- Identify the missing team job. Decide whether you need damage, protection, healing, control, cleansing, or setup, then consider which candidate provides it.
- Check the combination against the encounter. Look for relevant team examples where available, and verify that the roles and mechanics suit the objective.
- Check gear and investment. Compare the build’s demands with your equipment, available teammates, and upgrade resources before committing.
- Revisit when circumstances change. Rankings are snapshots; check again after balance changes or when you switch activities.
The September 2026 tier-list snapshots and dated team records described here are not permanent rankings. The guides reviewed are secondary sources, not official patch notes or game documentation; they support a mode-specific evaluation method, but not precise current builds or a definitive ranking of every hero.
