Playwright’s screenshot tool documentation describes the options as: “Capture the viewport, a specific element, or the full scrollable page.” Each preserves a different kind of evidence.

Use an element capture when a particular listing is the evidence you need; use a viewport capture when page context matters; choose full page when material below the fold matters. These are capture-scope choices, not guarantees that every portal will render every detail in the image.
Use an agent to find the listing, then capture it
A screenshot shows how a page looks; it does not establish that the correct listing was selected or verify the text on its own. The Playwright browser-agent documentation distinguishes screenshots for visual inspection from browser snapshots, which expose structure and references for interaction. A sound workflow is to inspect page structure or accessible content, confirm the listing title, and only then capture the intended scope.

- Open the listing: In the browser context supported by your AI agent, navigate to the listing URL using normal, permitted browsing.
- Verify the page: Check the visible job title or other page structure against the listing you intended to preserve. Do not treat successful navigation alone as confirmation.
- Choose the scope: Capture the viewport, an identified listing element, or the full scrollable page, depending on what the record needs to show.
- Save and identify the file: Use a descriptive filename and retain the listing URL and capture date alongside it. This is practical record-keeping advice, not a Playwright naming or retention requirement.
- Respect access limits: If the portal requires login, blocks automation, presents a challenge, or does not permit automated access under its current rules, stop and use an allowed route.
Example: capture a full page with Playwright
The following example uses Playwright’s documented page screenshot API in a Node.js script. It saves a full-page PNG after navigation; replace the example URL with the listing you are allowed to access.

Capture one listing element
If the relevant job card or detail panel has a stable selector, use a locator screenshot instead of a full-page capture. Replace the selector with one that matches the intended listing on the page.

Access, accuracy, and troubleshooting
Portal access is site-specific
The technical ability to automate a browser does not establish permission to automate a particular Indian job portal. The sources cited here do not establish current access rules for Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed, or any other named service. Check the selected portal’s current terms, access requirements, and official interfaces; do not attempt to bypass a login, block, or challenge.
Navigation succeeds but the wrong page appears
Compare the visible title or page structure with the intended role before capturing. If it does not match, do not save the image as evidence of the intended listing. A browser snapshot can help locate and interact with page content; the screenshot is the visual record.
The capture omits relevant content
Check whether the missing material is below the fold or confined to a listing element. Switch from viewport capture to full-page capture for below-the-fold content, or use a locator screenshot for a discrete card or detail panel. A selector capture targets the wrong content
Re-check the page structure and the selector’s match before taking the screenshot. Element capture depends on correctly identifying the target; a technically successful screenshot can still depict the wrong listing.
