You can use a CSV to organize a video schedule, but YouTube does not document a native CSV import for scheduling prerecorded videos in a 24/7 live feed. You need a separate playout scheduler that supports your CSV format, plus an encoder or cloud service to send its output to YouTube. YouTube Studio schedules the live event; it does not schedule the files in your playlist.
Understand the two schedules
A YouTube live setup involves two related but separate jobs:

- Broadcast schedule: The broadcast is the event and watch page, with details such as title, scheduled start time and privacy status.
- Video playback schedule: A separate playlist or playout system determines which prerecorded video plays, and when.
- Live feed: An encoder or cloud playout service sends the audiovisual feed to YouTube using the stream URL and stream key.
YouTube’s official documentation describes creating a broadcast, creating a live stream, binding the two, and moving the broadcast through states such as testing and live. Choose where video playback will run
Local encoder or hardware
A local setup uses software on a computer or a standalone hardware encoder to play or compose the feed and transmit it to YouTube. YouTube recognizes both software and hardware encoders. The computer or encoder, media storage and network connection must remain available while the feed is running.
Cloud playout
A cloud playout service stores or accesses the videos and sends the feed from its own infrastructure, so your computer does not have to stay online. For example, Upstream describes always-on streams and scheduled streams from prerecorded videos, with playlists that can loop in order or shuffle; LiveReacting describes scheduled playlists that run from its servers; and Looping Stream describes uploading files, arranging a playlist and sending it to an RTMP destination. These are vendor descriptions, not independent reliability assessments. The cited product pages do not establish whether any of them imports CSV: Upstream, LiveReacting and Looping Stream.

Check CSV compatibility before building your schedule
Do not assume that a service accepts a CSV just because it offers playlists or scheduling. Before preparing a large file, ask the provider or check its current documentation for:

- Whether it imports CSV at all, and the required columns, delimiter, encoding and date format.
- What one row represents: a video, a scheduled event, a playback start time or a duration.
- Which time zone it uses, and how it handles daylight-saving changes and dates in the past.
- How it treats repeated entries, missing or renamed files, invalid rows and overlapping start times.
- Whether editing or re-uploading a CSV changes a playlist that is already scheduled or running.
- Whether the service can send a continuous feed to your YouTube stream destination.
The reviewed documentation does not establish a CSV schema for YouTube or for the named cloud services, so there is no verified, universal CSV template to copy.

Set up the YouTube broadcast and connect the feed
- Choose the playout system first. Confirm that it can play your media in the intended order and that you know how it will connect to YouTube. If CSV import is essential, verify that capability and its format before scheduling the videos.
- Create the YouTube event. In YouTube Studio, schedule a live stream and set its title, start time and privacy as needed. Alternatively, developers can use the Live Streaming API to create the broadcast and stream, configure transmission settings, and bind the broadcast to the stream. YouTube’s Life of a Broadcast guide explains that sequence.
- Get the connection details. Use the stream URL and stream key shown for the YouTube stream. Enter them in the encoder or playout system, taking care to use the intended event and not expose the key publicly.
- Load and check the media schedule. Import the CSV only if the chosen scheduler documents the exact format. Check the resulting playlist or schedule against the source file, including start times, order and time zone; do not rely on an import-success message alone.
- Start the feed and verify it. Start playback or transmission from the encoder or cloud system. Check that YouTube is receiving video and that the correct broadcast is selected. API users can retrieve stream status; the liveStreams API reference documents stream resources and status.
Plan for continuous playback and YouTube rules
YouTube’s API reference says that if a broadcast’s scheduled end time is omitted, YouTube treats the broadcast as continuing indefinitely. That is an event setting, not a promise that the encoder, playlist or internet connection will keep delivering video. Continuity depends on the upstream playback system and its connection to YouTube. A 24/7 feed therefore needs a plan for unavailable files, playback errors, dropped connections and recovery.
Also confirm that you have the rights to stream every video and its audio. A video playing successfully in a playlist does not establish that you have permission to broadcast it, or that it complies with YouTube’s policies. Review YouTube’s current Community Guidelines and copyright requirements before putting content on a continuous public stream.
