A 2-in-1 Qi2 charger powers an iPhone from its Qi2 magnetic pad and an Apple Watch from a separate Apple Watch charging puck or tray. Connect the charger to the USB-C adapter specified by its manufacturer, place it on a stable surface, center the iPhone on the magnetic pad, and set the back of the watch against its dedicated charger. The phone and watch charge independently; the Qi2 phone pad does not replace the Apple Watch charging hardware.
What a 2-in-1 Qi2 charger actually does
The term “2-in-1” describes two charging positions in one accessory, not one universal wireless standard. One position is a Qi2 magnetic charging surface for the iPhone. The second is an Apple Watch-specific magnetic puck or tray that contains the hardware required by the watch.

Qi2 provides magnetic alignment and wireless power for compatible phones and other Qi2-certified devices. Apple Watch charging remains a separate system. A Qi2 phone pad can charge a compatible iPhone, but placing an Apple Watch on that pad will not make it charge. The watch must contact the dedicated puck or tray built into the charger.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Check compatibility before plugging anything in
iPhone compatibility
Apple says iPhone 8 and later support Qi-certified wireless charging. Qi charging alone does not guarantee magnetic attachment, however. Stand-style Qi2 chargers depend on a magnetic ring in the phone or case to hold the device in the correct position.
- MagSafe-compatible iPhone: The phone should snap into alignment on a Qi2 magnetic surface.
- Qi-compatible but non-MagSafe iPhone: It can receive wireless power when centered on a suitable Qi pad, but it may not stay attached to an angled stand without a magnetic attachment or compatible Qi2/MagSafe case.
- Older or unsupported devices: A phone that does not support Qi wireless charging cannot be made compatible by the charger alone.
If a product is advertised specifically as a Qi2 magnetic charger, check its compatibility list for your exact iPhone generation. Magnetic support and maximum charging speed can vary by model.
Apple Watch compatibility
The watch position must be designed for Apple Watch. Look for a dedicated magnetic charging puck or a tray that holds the supplied puck. A generic Qi charging area is not a substitute.
Some 2-in-1 chargers support Apple Watch fast charging and others do not. Treat fast charging as a product-specific feature: verify the manufacturer’s specification for your charger and watch rather than assuming every Qi2 dock has it.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Case and accessory requirements
A thin, non-metal case normally allows wireless charging, but a thick case, metal plate, wallet insert, or battery case can weaken the magnetic connection or slow charging. Apple advises removing thick, metal, or battery cases when charging is slow. If a non-MagSafe iPhone is going to sit on an upright stand, use a case with a compatible magnetic ring or an approved magnetic attachment.
Keep cards, keys, coins, and other metal objects away from both charging surfaces. Remove cards from a wallet case before placing the phone on the charger; the magnetic field and heat can interfere with charging and may affect cards.
Power adapter and cable
The charger itself may not include a wall adapter. Read its input requirement before connecting it. Apple’s MagSafe Duo instructions recommend a USB-C adapter rated at 20 W or more for simultaneous iPhone and Apple Watch charging. Individual Qi2 products can specify a different minimum or a higher rating, so the manufacturer’s requirement takes precedence.

A higher-rated adapter does not automatically make every phone charge faster. The charger, cable, iPhone model, software, thermal conditions, and power-sharing design all limit the delivered rate.

How to set up the charger
- Connect the correct adapter. Plug the charger’s USB-C cable into the USB-C power adapter recommended by its manufacturer. For Apple’s MagSafe Duo guidance, use a 20 W-or-greater adapter; do not apply that number blindly to a different product.
- Choose a stable location. Put the charger on a level, non-slippery surface with room to place and remove both devices. A stand should not be wedged against another object that could press the phone off center.
- Clear the charging areas. Remove metal objects, cards, packaging, and debris from the Qi2 pad and the Apple Watch puck or tray. Check that the surfaces are dry and unobstructed.
- Place the iPhone on the Qi2 pad. Put the phone face up and center it over the magnetic ring. A MagSafe-compatible iPhone should pull into alignment. If the phone is not magnetically supported, place it flat and centered, or use the magnetic case or attachment required for that stand.
- Place the Apple Watch on its dedicated charger. Set the back of the watch against the magnetic puck or into the watch tray. The magnet should hold the watch in position; do not leave the watch resting on the phone pad.
- Check both charging indicators. The iPhone should begin charging a few seconds after it is placed on a wireless charger. The watch should show its charging symbol when the puck has made proper contact. If one device does not indicate charging, troubleshoot that position rather than moving both devices repeatedly.
When using a folding travel pad, open it fully before placing the devices. When using an upright dock, keep the phone’s center aligned with the magnetic ring and ensure the watch band or case is not pushing the watch away from its puck.
How to position an iPhone for reliable Qi2 charging
Flat pad
Place the iPhone face up with its center over the marked charging area. A magnetic connection is helpful but not required for a flat Qi pad if the phone remains centered. If charging starts and stops when you touch the phone, the coil is probably moving out of alignment.
Angled stand
Magnetic attachment is more important on a stand because gravity can pull a non-magnetic phone away from the coil. A MagSafe-compatible iPhone should snap into the correct position. For an iPhone that supports Qi but lacks MagSafe alignment, use a compatible magnetic case or attachment designed for Qi2/MagSafe-style stands.
Movement and vibration
Movement can interrupt charging. Apple notes that a phone moving off center can stop a charging mat from delivering power. Recenter the phone after connecting a cable, receiving a notification that causes vibration, or adjusting the stand. If the device repeatedly slips, remove a slick case, use a compatible magnetic case, or move the charger to a less disturbed surface.

How to position and verify the Apple Watch
The watch must touch the dedicated puck with the correct side facing it. On a normal magnetic puck, place the back of the watch against the puck until the magnet settles. On a tray, lower the watch into the marked recess and make sure the puck is not covered by the band.
Look for the watch charging symbol after placement. If it does not appear, lift the watch, wipe the back and puck with a dry soft cloth, and place it again. A watch that is slightly tilted, trapped by a case, or resting on the wrong side of a travel tray may not make electrical contact.
Do not expect the watch to charge from the Qi2 phone position. The watch’s charging coil and control electronics are designed for its own magnetic charger.
What charging speed you should expect
There is no single wattage that applies to every 2-in-1 Qi2 charger. The adapter rating is only one part of the chain. The charger’s Qi2 certification, cable, power-sharing circuit, iPhone model, case, battery temperature, and current battery level all affect the result.

| Factor | What it controls | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| USB-C adapter | Total power available to the charger | Meet or exceed the charger’s stated requirement. Apple’s MagSafe Duo guidance specifies 20 W or more for simultaneous iPhone and Watch charging. |
| Qi2 certification and charger design | Phone-side wireless charging capability | Check the product’s certified rating and whether power is reduced when both positions are occupied. |
| iPhone model | Maximum rate the phone can accept | Use the model-specific limit; do not assume every iPhone reaches the same speed. |
| Cable | Whether the adapter’s power reaches the charger | Use the cable supplied or one rated for the charger’s input requirement. |
| Heat | Whether charging is temporarily throttled | Remove excess insulation, improve airflow, and let the devices cool. |
| Case and alignment | How efficiently power couples between coils | Center the phone and remove thick, metal, or battery cases if charging is slow. |
Apple’s current MagSafe Charger information identifies that charger as certified for Qi2 at up to 25 W as well as Qi charging, but supported iPhones receive different maximum rates depending on the model and adapter. That specification should not be treated as a promise that every 2-in-1 dock delivers 25 W to an iPhone, especially while the watch position is also in use.
Wireless charging commonly slows as a battery approaches full capacity, and heat can temporarily limit charging above 80 percent until the device cools. A pause or slower final portion is therefore not automatically a fault.

Apple’s accessories catalog includes a Belkin BOOST↑CHARGE PRO 2-in-1 dock and travel pad. It also lists an Anker 3-in-1 Cube with Qi2, which adds a third position for AirPods. A Satechi OntheGo 2-in-1 Qi2 Wireless Charger documents the iPhone-and-Apple-Watch arrangement and explains the magnetic case or attachment requirement for non-MagSafe iPhones. These examples illustrate different layouts; their adapter requirements, charging rates, and fast-charge support still need to be checked against the exact model.

Troubleshooting: phone, watch, and power problems
The iPhone does not start charging
- Remove the phone and place it face up in the center of the Qi2 pad.
- Check that the charger’s cable is fully inserted into the adapter and that the adapter is plugged into a live outlet.
- Remove a thick, metal, wallet, or battery case and test again.
- For a non-MagSafe iPhone on a stand, add a compatible magnetic case or attachment; simply supporting Qi charging does not create magnetic alignment.
- Try the charger with the watch removed. If the phone works alone but not together with the watch, the adapter may not meet the charger’s simultaneous-use requirement.
The watch does not show its charging symbol
- Move the watch from the Qi2 phone pad to the dedicated magnetic puck or tray.
- Re-seat the watch so the back is flush with the puck and the band is not lifting it.
- Remove any watch case or accessory that prevents direct contact.
- Clean the contact surfaces with a dry, soft cloth and check for debris.
- Confirm that the charger actually contains an Apple Watch charging module rather than a second generic Qi pad.
Charging starts and stops
- Recenter the iPhone after vibration or movement.
- Move the charger away from metal objects and remove cards from nearby wallet compartments.
- Improve ventilation and avoid charging in direct sun or on heat-retaining fabric.
- If the battery is above 80 percent and the phone is warm, allow it to cool before judging the charger’s performance.
Both devices charge slowly
- Verify the adapter’s wattage against the charger’s manual. A 20 W-or-greater adapter is Apple’s recommendation for MagSafe Duo simultaneous charging, but another 2-in-1 product may require a different rating.
- Use the supplied or properly rated USB-C cable.
- Check whether the dock reduces phone power when the watch position is occupied.
- Test without cases and with the devices centered.
- Remember that the final part of a charge can be deliberately slower and that heat can trigger temporary limits.
Safe everyday use
Keep the charger on a hard, level surface with air around it. Do not cover the pad with clothing, bedding, or another device while it is operating. Keep metal objects and payment cards away from the charging areas, and inspect the cable and adapter for damage.
Use the charger’s specified adapter rather than an unverified low-quality replacement. If either device or the charger becomes unusually hot, disconnect it, remove the case, and let everything cool. Persistent overheating, a damaged cable, or a puck that will not make contact is a reason to stop using the accessory and follow the manufacturer’s support process.
A simple nightly routine
- Connect the 2-in-1 unit to its specified USB-C adapter before placing devices.
- Clear cards and metal objects from the dock.
- Attach the iPhone to the Qi2 pad, checking that it is centered and stable.
- Place the Apple Watch on the dedicated puck or tray and wait for its charging symbol.
- Confirm the iPhone’s charging indicator after a few seconds.
- Leave both devices uncovered so heat can dissipate, and recenter the phone if vibration moves it.
With those checks, a 2-in-1 Qi2 charger can charge an iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time without combining their charging standards: Qi2 handles the phone position, while the Apple Watch puck handles the watch.
