If the date of birth on your Cash App account is wrong, contact Cash App support through the app’s chat or cash.app/help and ask for the official correction process. Cash App’s public materials do not document a self-service birthday-edit setting, guarantee a correction, or give a standard review time. This guidance reflects Cash App’s U.S. terms and help materials.
Request a date-of-birth correction
- Contact official support. Open Cash App and use its in-app chat, or visit cash.app/help. Tell support that the date of birth on your account is incorrect and ask how to correct it. These are support routes listed in Cash App’s U.S. Terms of Service.
- Follow verified instructions. Use only instructions provided in the app or on Cash App’s official support site. Cash App says identity verification can involve your legal name, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security number. In some cases it may request more information, such as your residential address, an unexpired government-issued photo ID, or income or source-of-funds details. See its identity-verification FAQ.
- Provide accurate information. Explain what is incorrect and give truthful details. Cash App’s terms require account information to be true, accurate, and kept current; ask support what evidence, if any, it needs for your specific correction.
- Wait for account-specific guidance. The public materials do not specify a document checklist for date-of-birth corrections or a fixed processing time. They also do not promise that every correction request will be approved. Cash App says it may restrict services if requested information cannot be verified.
Protect your account while contacting support
Cash App’s terms say representatives will never ask for your password, PIN, or full debit card number. The terms list 1-800-969-1940 as the only phone number available for Cash App support. Don’t call numbers sent in unsolicited messages or shown in search ads or unofficial tutorials; use the app or Cash App’s official support site instead.

Check which account path applies to your age
Correcting an inaccurate birthday is different from changing account type or bypassing age rules. Cash App’s U.S. terms describe separate paths for adults and minors:

- Individual account: The U.S. terms say an individual account requires U.S. residency and that the account holder be at least 18 and the age of majority in their state.
- Teen sponsored account: Teens ages 13–17 need an eligible adult sponsor, according to the terms. Cash App’s Families page describes teen accounts as having their own app access with adult oversight.
- Child managed account: Cash App describes managed accounts for children ages 6–12, operated through a parent’s Cash App. The terms say sponsored accounts for children are not currently available to New York residents; check the current terms for eligibility and conditions.
- Turning 18: Cash App says a teen can verify identity in the app and move to an individual account at 18. That age-based transition is not a general birthday-edit feature.
Why an incorrect birthday matters
Cash App may collect date of birth as account information and requires account details to remain accurate. Its article “Ensuring Teen Safety on Cash App” says it collects date of birth during onboarding and describes detecting suspected false age claims. If your recorded birthday is wrong, ask support to correct the record rather than entering a false age to get around eligibility checks, identity verification, or adult sponsorship.

Cash App’s public official materials reviewed do not establish a birthday-edit button, an assured correction outcome, a universal document list for corrections, or a standard review time. The exact process and any evidence required may depend on the account and support’s instructions.
