For SonicWall SMA 1000 model 6210, 7210, or 8200v, install a fixed platform-hotfix build from the same firmware branch, then confirm the installed version in AMC or CMC. SonicWall’s October 2026 notice lists 12.4.3-03670 and later, or 12.5.0-03082 and later, as fixed; build numbers are not interchangeable across branches.
Which SMA 1000 versions are affected?
SonicWall’s October 2026 product notice covers SMA 1000 models 6210, 7210, and 8200v, including virtual deployments across hypervisors. It identifies CVE-2026-102255 as a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability with a vendor-reported CVSS score of 10.0 (Critical).

| Firmware branch | Builds listed as affected | Fixed threshold |
|---|---|---|
| 12.4.3 | 12.4.3-03526 and older | 12.4.3-03670 and later |
| 12.5.0 | 12.5.0-02952 and older | 12.5.0-03082 and later |
Compare the full platform-hotfix version with the threshold for its branch. Do not compare suffix numbers between 12.4.3 and 12.5.0. If your appliance is at an affected or older build, update it to the latest applicable hotfix; the advisory’s listed threshold is the minimum fixed version, not a reason to stop at an older release if a newer one is available.
The same notice covers three other SMA 1000 vulnerabilities: CVE-2026-102256 (remote code execution, CVSS 7.8 High), CVE-2026-102257 (Zip Slip path traversal, CVSS 7.2 High), and CVE-2026-102258 (stored cross-site scripting, CVSS 5.5 Medium). These scores are SonicWall’s severity ratings.

How to update a SonicWall SMA 1000
1. Record the current branch and build
Before changing the appliance, note whether it runs 12.4.3 or 12.5.0 and capture its complete platform-hotfix version. Compare it with the matching row above so you select a package for the correct branch.
2. Obtain the vendor hotfix
Use the upgrade or hotfix link available in AMC, or download the recent upgrade/hotfix file for the registered device through MySonicWall. SonicWall’s public notice lists fixed versions but does not provide a package filename or checksum, so verify the package and its applicability through the vendor’s current device-specific download and guidance.

- No-compromise protection for your business
- Managed security for distributed environments
3. Install the update in AMC
- In AMC, open System Configuration > Maintenance > System software updates.
- Import the downloaded file if needed, select the applicable update, and install it. If AMC provides an upgrade or hotfix link, follow the available workflow there.
- Allow the appliance to restart before checking its version or starting dependent services.
SonicWall’s SMA 12.5 Upgrade Guide says to apply platform hotfixes before client hotfixes. If the release includes a separate client update, apply it after the platform update and update applicable clients as directed for that release.

- Appliance in AMC: Open Dashboard > System > System Information and check the appliance version.
- Managed appliance in CMC: Open Managed Appliances > Maintain > Maintain Appliances and check the Version number for the appliance.
- CMS in CMC: Open Management Server > Monitor > System Status and check Version number in the System information section.
For each component, confirm that the displayed version is at or above its branch’s fixed threshold. A version check confirms the installed version shown in that console; it is not an independent vulnerability scan and does not establish whether the appliance was compromised.

AMC can undo the most recent system update, but SonicWall warns that rollback erases configuration changes made after that update. Review the SMA rollback guidance and consult SonicWall support before relying on rollback in a production environment.

SonicWall’s notice, published October 5 and updated October 6, 2026, states: “IMPORTANT: There is no evidence that these vulnerabilities are being exploited in the wild.” This is the vendor’s assessment, not an independent finding. The advisory concerns the SMA 1000 models and versions listed above; it should not be treated as an advisory for SMA 100, SonicOS firewalls, or other SonicWall products.
