To update a Good Lock module, open Good Lock on your Samsung Galaxy phone, locate the installed module in Good Lock’s app or module area, and use the update prompt shown there. Samsung’s support guidance confirms that additional Good Lock applications can be downloaded or updated inside Good Lock after the initial setup. The exact button name and screen sequence can differ by One UI version, phone model, region, and module, so do not rely on a universal tap path that Samsung has not documented.
What a Good Lock module update actually is
Good Lock is Samsung’s suite of customization applications for Galaxy devices. Instead of one all-in-one settings page, it offers separate modules that add or change functions such as interface behavior, appearance, notifications, multitasking, and other system features. Samsung describes the suite as a way to install and use only the features you need.

A module is an additional Good Lock application. Updating that module is different from installing the Good Lock shell for the first time. Samsung’s official setup guidance starts in Galaxy Store: open Galaxy Store on the Samsung device, search for Good Lock, install it, and open the app. Once Good Lock is set up, Samsung says additional applications can be downloaded or updated within Good Lock.

That statement is the important distinction: the normal route for a module update is the module area inside Good Lock, not a separate physical accessory or a third-party updater.
Before you start: confirm the conditions that affect availability
Use a Samsung Galaxy device
Good Lock’s app description and Samsung’s support material concern Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets. These instructions are not general Android instructions and should not be applied to non-Samsung phones.
Install the Good Lock app first
If Good Lock is not installed, open Galaxy Store, search for Good Lock, install the Samsung app, and open it. The module area is reached after this initial setup.
Check model and software support
Samsung cautions that Good Lock application availability varies by device and software version. A module that appears on one Galaxy model may be absent on another, and a module can become available only after a particular system or One UI update. Missing availability is therefore not proof that an update is broken.

Allow for regional differences
The core instructions come from Samsung India Support, while Galaxy Store catalogs are regional and dynamic. Your local Galaxy Store may show a different module list, version number, or release timing. Use the listing and availability shown on your own Galaxy device as the operational reference.
How to update a Good Lock module
- Open Good Lock. Launch the Good Lock app on the Galaxy device where the module is installed.
- Open the app or module area. Find the section that lists Good Lock’s additional applications and locate the module you want to update.
- Check the module’s current state. If Good Lock offers an update for that installed module, use the in-app update prompt.
- Let the in-app process finish. Keep the app open long enough for the update action to complete, then reopen the module if Good Lock asks you to do so.
- Verify availability if no update appears. Check that the module is supported on your Galaxy model and current software version before treating the missing prompt as an error.
Samsung’s published support text confirms the ability to download or update additional applications within Good Lock, but it does not define one universal button label, menu path, or confirmation screen for every module and software release. Your screen may therefore use wording different from another Galaxy phone’s screen.
What you should see in common situations

Why a Good Lock module update may not appear
The module is not supported on your model
Samsung explicitly says availability varies by phone model. A module can be available on a flagship Galaxy but not on a different model, even when both phones run Android. In that case, the absence of an update is an availability condition rather than a failed installation.
Your software version is different
Good Lock features and module availability can depend on the phone’s software version. If your Galaxy is on an older or different One UI build, a module may be hidden or may not receive the same release at the same time as a device on another build.

The release has not reached your region
Galaxy Store distribution is not necessarily simultaneous worldwide. Samsung’s India support page documents the general workflow, but your local store may publish a module later, show a different version, or omit it.
There is no newer package for your device yet
An update prompt appears only when Good Lock presents a newer compatible package. If the installed module is current for your device and region, there may be nothing to tap. A different version seen elsewhere does not by itself prove that your installation is out of date.
The listing or release state has changed
Galaxy Store information is dynamic. Version numbers and notes can change after a support article or screenshot was published, so the device’s current listing is more useful than an old number copied from a web page.
Good Lock updates versus Galaxy Store updates
Galaxy Store is the distribution service used to install Good Lock itself. Samsung’s documented route for additional Good Lock applications is inside the Good Lock app. This means two related but distinct checks are involved:

- Module management: Good Lock is used to discover, download, and update its additional applications.
If you are trying to update a module, start in Good Lock rather than assuming that a generic Galaxy Store update screen will expose every module control. Samsung has not published a single universal Galaxy Store menu path for updating each individual module.

The Galaxy Store listing displayed Good Lock version 3.0.16.6, dated 2026-07-14, when checked on 2026-10-13. Its release notes said that a problem preventing Good Lock plugins from updating in certain environments had been fixed.
That number is a dated listing snapshot, not a promise that every region or device will show the same build on the date you read this article. Galaxy Store listings can change, and Samsung may stage availability by region, model, or software version. Treat the version shown in your own local listing as authoritative for your phone.

A practical decision path when updating does not work
- Confirm the app. Make sure you opened Good Lock on a Samsung Galaxy device, not a similarly named utility or a non-Samsung Android phone.
- Confirm the module. Locate the installed module in Good Lock’s additional-application area. If it is absent, investigate support and availability rather than looking for a hidden update button.
- Check the offered state. If Good Lock shows an update prompt, use that in-app action. If it shows no update, there may be no newer compatible package available yet.
- Check software and model compatibility. Samsung says both can affect availability. Compare the module’s presence on the affected device with the phone model and software version it is running.
- Check your regional listing. Use the Galaxy Store catalog available to your account and country. A release visible in another region is not proof that it has been published for yours.
- Recheck later if the conditions are correct. Because listings are dynamic and distribution can be staged, an absent prompt can change when Samsung publishes a compatible package.
This sequence deliberately avoids unsupported instructions such as naming a universal cache-clearing command, forcing a particular menu, or sideloading a package. Samsung’s cited guidance does not document those actions as a standard Good Lock module-update procedure.
When an update prompt appears but the module still does not update
First note exactly what Good Lock reports and whether the module remains listed afterward. The official material establishes that Good Lock can download or update additional applications, but it does not provide a single recovery procedure for every failure message or device environment.
- If the module disappears, check model and software-version availability again; availability can vary after system changes.
- If the module remains listed with the same version, compare the version shown on your device with the version currently displayed in your local Galaxy Store listing.
- If the problem matches the “plugins not updating in certain environments” issue described in the Good Lock 3.0.16.6 notes, confirm whether your local listing offers a newer Good Lock build before drawing a conclusion from an older version number.
- If the prompt and error persist, use Samsung’s support channel for your country, since the public setup guidance does not define a universal fix for every module-specific failure.

These details matter because Samsung’s own caveat ties Good Lock availability to device and software version, while store listings can vary by region and change over time.
Key limitations to keep in mind
- There is no single documented tap sequence that applies to every Good Lock module, Galaxy model, One UI release, and region.
- Samsung’s support guide confirms in-app downloading and updating, but does not specify every individual control label.
- Good Lock modules are Samsung Galaxy software; the workflow should not be generalized to non-Samsung Android devices.
- Version 3.0.16.6 and its July 14, 2026 note describe what the Galaxy Store listing showed on October 13, 2026, not a permanent worldwide baseline.
- No physical product is required to update a module; the process uses the Galaxy device, Good Lock, and the applicable store services.
Bottom line
Open Good Lock, find the installed module, and use the update option Good Lock presents. If no update is shown—or the module is missing—check Samsung’s device and software-version compatibility caveat and your local Galaxy Store listing before treating the situation as a malfunction. Because Samsung’s instructions are intentionally general and store availability changes, the controls and version shown on your Galaxy phone are the final authority.
