The Qualifiers are the opening map events that build your Horizon Festival Points total. They can be completed in any order, so choose the event that best fits your current car, driving preference, or location. The important requirement is the points meter, not a particular order of completion.

Because the game permits free ordering, leaving one qualifier unfinished is enough to delay the Invitational. If you are waiting for the next progression event, return to the map and look for the remaining opening qualifier rather than searching for a hidden Takashiro objective.
The Horizon Festival Points meter
The meter is the practical progress check for the opening sequence. Continue completing the qualifier events until it is full. The official starting material does not describe a separate Takashiro points threshold, so do not treat regional exploration, collectibles, or a Stamp count as a substitute for the qualifier requirement.
The Horizon Invitational and first Wristband
When the meter is full, enter the Horizon Invitational and complete it. This event is the final documented gate before festival admission. What changes after you earn the first Wristband
The first Wristband is more significant than a cosmetic rank. It represents entry into the Horizon Festival. Playground Games’ starting guide states that the World Map is unlocked at this stage, allowing you to move through the wider Japan setting instead of remaining focused only on the prologue and qualifier events.
Once the World Map is available, Takashiro should be approached as a named map region rather than as a separate campaign chapter. Use the map to identify its roads and activities, then drive into the area and begin whatever races, landmarks, or Discover Japan activities are available there. The available official material does not name a required Takashiro introduction race, character conversation, or regional story mission.
How to reach Takashiro on the World Map
- Pause the game. Open the Pause menu after the first Wristband has been awarded.
- Select World Map. The World Map is the map interface identified by the official starting guide as unlocked after the opening progression.
- Find the Takashiro label. Takashiro is a named region on the Japan map. Select a destination within or near it if you want a route marker.

Why Takashiro may appear locked
The Horizon Invitational is incomplete
The most likely explanation is that the qualifier sequence has not yet reached its final event. Completing some qualifiers is not enough; the Horizon Festival Points meter must be full, and the Horizon Invitational must be completed.

The first Wristband is the clearest in-game checkpoint for festival admission. If you cannot confirm that reward, return to the campaign progression and finish the Invitational. Do not use the Gold Wristband requirement for another region as a Takashiro requirement.
The map or session has not refreshed
If the Invitational and first Wristband are complete but Takashiro remains unavailable, reload the map or current session. This is the documented practical recovery step for a map that has not reflected completed progression. The sources reviewed do not specify a different Takashiro-specific fix.

Takashiro has at least one documented optional activity: a 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III Treasure Car. Windows Central places it along marked dirt roads beside a small river, in the direction of a waterfall.
- Open the World Map after the opening progression is complete and travel into Takashiro.
- Look for the marked dirt roads running beside a small river.
- Follow the track toward the waterfall.
- Continue to the end of the track before the waterfall, where the Treasure Car is located.
- Collect the car and use it immediately.
Treasure Cars work differently from Barn Finds: a collected Treasure Car is immediately usable, whereas a Barn Find requires restoration before it can be driven. This distinction explains why the Takashiro car can be added to your usable collection as soon as you reach it, without waiting for a restoration process.

Your route to Takashiro depends on whether you want the earliest possible access or a fuller first tour of Japan.
