How to unlock the Grill
The walkthroughs published or updated in August 2026 describe the Grill as an optional Island 3 objective gated by the Blue Shark. Follow this route:

- Find the Grill Master. On Island 3, look beside the unlit grill and speak with the NPC.
- Buy the right lure. Purchase the Standard Boss Lure from the nearby shop. One guide lists its price as $280 and says the lure is consumed when used. Do not substitute the cheaper Standard Lure: the walkthrough says the Boss Lure is what summons the Blue Shark.
- Equip and cast. Cast the Boss Lure into deep water to trigger the encounter.
- Defeat the Blue Shark. Retrieve its body after the fight.
- Return to the Grill Master. Bring the shark’s body to the NPC and use the lighter to start the grill.
Another guide describes Grill access more broadly as part of Island 3 progression involving the Tourist request chain. The available walkthroughs do not settle whether a particular Tourist quest must come before or after the shark fight. If the grill stays unlit after you deliver the shark, continue the island’s Tourist questline and check with the Grill Master again.

How to beat the Blue Shark
The Blue Shark is described as a fast, lunging mini-boss that gates the Grill objective. The guides distinguish it from the Pufferfish, which they identify as the story boss encountered later through the Tourist quest. Keep moving rather than trying to trade hits while standing still.

Prepare with ordinary fish
One guide recommends catching ordinary fish before using the Boss Lure, then dropping them on the sand with Q. It reports that eating a dropped fish can restore health during the fight. This is a guide-reported tactic, not a confirmed mechanic across every game version, so check the on-screen prompts before relying on it.
How to cook fish on the Grill
Once the grill is lit, place an ordinary catch on it and watch its displayed sell-value multiplier. Gameplay guides recommend removing the item at about 1.5x its value. Leaving it too long can burn it and reduce its worth, so stay nearby and monitor the display rather than treating the grill as a set-and-forget station.
