Your race determines the starter ability you can unlock in Type Soul: Shinigami unlock Shikai, Quincy unlock Schrift, and Arrancar unlock Resurrección. The community-reported gate for these first abilities is Grade 2. Arrancar later progress from Partial Res to Full Res and then Segunda Etapa, while clan creation is a separate purchase requiring 100,000 Kan. Because NPC routes, objective counts, and reroll names change, confirm each requirement with the live in-game tracker before spending time or currency.
Which ability can your character unlock?
There is no supported way to choose Shikai, Schrift, or Res on the same character. Each is tied to a race:

These are community-maintained instructions rather than official developer documentation. Treat the grade requirement and objective lists as the best reported route, not a permanent contract: patches can move NPCs, rename items, or replace progress conditions.
How to unlock Shikai in Type Soul
Shikai is the Shinigami route. The reported sequence is deliberately time-based: three separate meditations, a fourth meditation that transports you to the Shikai world, a conversation sequence with your spirit, and a final fight.

Requirements and preparation
- Your character must be Shinigami.
- Reach Grade 2 before attempting the unlock.
- Allow at least 15 minutes for the three listed five-minute meditation sessions, plus the later spirit-world steps.
- Have your combat build ready for a boss encounter; the unlock is not completed by meditation alone.
Step-by-step Shikai route
- Reach Grade 2. The community guide identifies Grade 2 as the point at which Shikai becomes available. If the meditation interaction does not appear, verify your grade in the current progression interface rather than repeating the sequence.
- Press M to meditate. Complete the first meditation session. The reported duration is five minutes.
- Repeat the meditation twice. Start and finish a second five-minute session, then a third five-minute session. Do not assume that opening another menu or moving early counts as completion; let the current prompt or timer finish.
- Meditate again after the third session. The fourth meditation is reported to transport you to the Shikai world. This is a separate interaction from the three timed sessions.
- Speak to the spirit five times. The guide lists five conversations before the fight. Use the spirit’s current interaction prompt if dialogue wording has changed.
- Defeat the spirit. Winning the encounter unlocks Shikai and lets you continue talking to your spirit. The community page summarizes the result as: “After you have defeated your Shikai you will unlock your Shikai ability and you will be able to talk to your spirit.”
If the Shikai world does not load
The reported route warns that the teleport can bug. First confirm that all three five-minute sessions completed and that you started the additional meditation afterward. Rejoin only after checking the current prompt, because an interrupted session may not register. If the game still does not transport you, follow the current in-game instruction or the game’s support channel; teleport behavior is community-reported and may change between updates.
How to get Schrift in Type Soul
Schrift is the Quincy unlock. Unlike Shikai’s meditation timer, the Quincy route is presented as a checklist that you obtain from a statue and then complete in the world.
Requirements and location
- Your character must be Quincy.
- Reach Grade 2.
- Find the Schrift statue beside the bridge in Wandenreich Town.
Step-by-step Schrift route
- Reach Grade 2 as a Quincy. The statue route is reported to begin at this grade.
- Talk to the statue beside the bridge in Wandenreich Town. It reveals the current objectives. The community page describes these instructions as whispers that tell you what to do to unlock your Schrift.
- Record the objectives before leaving. The listed checklist is one Menos kill, one Adjuchas kill, one Shinigami grip, one Arrancar grip, and five Fishbones kills.
- Complete every objective. A grip is not the same as a normal defeat, so use the game’s current grip interaction on the required opposing race. If the statue shows different numbers, use the statue’s list instead of an old copied checklist.
- Return to the progression flow. The reported completion result is a cutscene followed by a respawn, after which Schrift is unlocked.
Why the statue is more reliable than screenshots
The statue can reportedly be revisited to check requirements. That matters because community checklists are easy to copy after a patch. Read the live task list immediately before farming kills or grips, and keep the race requirement in mind: a Shinigami grip and an Arrancar grip are separate objectives.
How to get Partial Res as an Arrancar
Partial Resurrección is the initial Arrancar ability. It is not the same unlock as Full Resurrección or Segunda Etapa. The community instructions agree on Grade 2 and an obstacle-course completion, but they describe the first NPC route differently.

Reported Partial Res route
- Reach Grade 2 as an Arrancar.
- Travel to Hueco Mundo. One version of the route says to interact with Harribel there.
- Continue to the pink orb in Las Noches. The same route sends you to the orb after the Harribel interaction.
- Complete the obstacle course. Finishing it grants Partial Resurrección.
Handling the conflicting NPC instruction
The Arrancar summary on the same community resource describes a changed route in which players may go directly to the castle at night without first talking to Harribel. Because those instructions conflict, do not treat the Harribel conversation as mandatory in every current server. Travel to the castle or orb at the time indicated by the live prompt, interact with whichever NPC or object is active, and follow the current tracker. The stable part of the reported route is the Grade 2 gate and obstacle-course completion; the exact conversation order is volatile.
How to unlock Full Resurrección
Full Res is a separate, advanced Arrancar quest. The reported requirement is Elite Grade, not merely Grade 2. It therefore makes sense to finish Partial Res first and continue normal progression until the Elite requirement is visible in your tracker.
Reported Full Res stages
The community page lists a progression involving ranked or raid activity, followed by specific farming and boss objectives:
- Ranked or raid progress in the opening stage.
- 50 Hollow NPC kills.
- 10 grips on Elite characters from the opposite faction.
- A world-boss kill.
- A labyrinth search after the combat objectives.
The same page explicitly says that seven Clan War wins “dont work anymore for resurreccion.” The Arrancar page also reports different stage-one numbers and point weights. Those contradictions mean there is no defensible single stage-one total to publish. Open the current V – Unequaled, Unrivaled tracker and use its live values for the opening requirement.

How to avoid losing Full Res progress
- Check the tracker before each farming session; objective counts can be revised.
- Separate ordinary Hollow kills from the listed Elite opposite-faction grips. They are different categories.
- Do not substitute Clan War wins for a requirement merely because an older guide lists them.
- Confirm that the world boss and labyrinth steps registered before leaving the area.
How to unlock Segunda Etapa
Segunda Etapa is a follow-on form, not an alternative name for Partial Res. The reported prerequisites are Full Resurrección and Vastocar status.
- Complete the current Full Resurrección progression.
- Ensure your character has Vastocar status.
- Return to the sword used during your earlier progression, following the live interaction prompt.
- Complete the Segunda Etapa interaction or encounter shown by that prompt.
The sword step is tied to the progression weapon, so do not assume that any replacement sword in your inventory will trigger the event. If the interaction is missing, verify both Full Res and Vastocar status before repeating earlier quests.
How to get a Shikai, Res, or Volt element
Element terminology and reroll handling are less certain than the race unlocks. A community update log says that separate Shikai, Res, and Volt rerolls were renamed or consolidated as Element Rerolls in updates after September 1, 2024. That log does not establish that the name, acquisition method, or reset effect is still unchanged in October 2026.

- Open your live inventory. Look for the currently displayed reroll item name rather than relying on a video title or an old wiki label.
- Open the active reroll interface. Read its confirmation text to see which ability or element will be reset.
- Check the current in-game instructions. Confirm whether the item applies to Shikai, Res, Volt, or another element system before consuming it.
- Record your current build. Note your existing element and abilities so you can recognize what changed.
- Use the reroll only after confirming the effect. The available evidence does not provide a reliable, current set of rarity odds for all named systems.
What you should not assume
- Do not treat a community rarity label as a current percentage.
- Do not combine odds from different updates or different ability systems into one ranking.
- Do not assume an Element Reroll restores a previous element unless the present confirmation screen says so.
- Do not choose an element from an old tier list without checking whether the underlying abilities or balance have changed.
For a practical choice, compare the descriptions currently shown for the elements available to your race and match them to your build. The available instructions do not establish a reliable best element or universal drop rate.

How much Kan does it cost to make a clan?
Creating a clan reportedly costs 100,000 Kan. This is the amount the player creating the clan must have on hand.
Clan creation steps
- Save 100,000 Kan. Keep the full amount available before speaking to the NPC.
- Go to Karakura Town.
- Enter the parking lot and reach the second floor.
- Talk to ClanCreator. The community clan instructions identify this NPC as the creation point.
- Enter a valid name. Reported restrictions include no spaces, a character limit, and Roblox text filtering. If a name is rejected, shorten it, remove spaces, and avoid terms blocked by the platform filter.
- Confirm creation only after checking the name. The available instructions establish the creation cost and location, but do not fully document joining or rejoining another clan.
Clan-name troubleshooting
- “Name invalid”: remove spaces and reduce the length.
- “Filtered” or blocked text: replace words that trigger Roblox filtering.
- NPC does not offer creation: verify that you are on the second floor of the parking lot and still have 100,000 Kan.
- Cost appears different: trust the live dialogue or confirmation window over an older guide, because currency requirements can be patched.

Common mistakes that waste progression time
Using the wrong race route
Shikai, Schrift, and Res are not interchangeable quests. Confirm your race before farming objectives; changing a checklist cannot turn a Quincy requirement into a Shinigami unlock.
Starting before Grade 2
The reported starter gate is Grade 2. If an NPC is silent or an interaction is unavailable, check your grade first instead of assuming the quest is broken.
Following an old Full Res checklist
Do not farm seven Clan War wins or commit to a copied stage-one point total without checking the live tracker. The community page specifically flags the seven-win instruction as no longer working and reports conflicting stage-one values.

Confusing a defeat with a grip
The Schrift list calls for one Shinigami grip and one Arrancar grip. A normal knockout may not satisfy either objective. Use the current grip prompt and verify the counter afterward.
Assuming Partial Res unlocks every Arrancar form
Partial Res, Full Res, and Segunda Etapa are separate milestones. Full Res has an Elite Grade gate, and Segunda requires Full Res plus Vastocar status.
Spending a reroll without reading its effect
Element Rerolls may be a consolidated or renamed system, but current behavior is not established. Read the confirmation screen and do not rely on an old percentage or tier list.

The practical rule is simple: use the race and grade gates to plan your character, but use live NPC dialogue and trackers for the exact objective values. Type Soul’s community documentation can preserve a useful route while still becoming stale after an update.
