Complete Shift 3 to make Rain Shift eligible to appear in Animal Hospital’s regular Night Shift rotation. It is a random weather event, so reaching the threshold does not let you start it on demand. When rain begins and aquatic-looking patients arrive, screen them as usual: some may be anomalies.
How do you unlock Rain Shift?
Reach and complete Shift 3. Multiple fan guides identify Shift 3 as the threshold: one says Rain Shift can occur from Shift 3 onward, while another says completing Shift 3 adds it to a random rotation. The event was introduced with the Lore Expansion in August 2026, according to those guides. Source Source Source

Rain Shift is a weather-based special shift within the ordinary Night Shift, not a separate game mode. It is distinct from the Hazmat or slime special shift. Source Source
When does Rain Shift happen, and can you trigger it yourself?
After unlocking it, wait for rain to begin; the guides describe the event as entering a random rotation. They do not provide a reliable way to summon it manually. Completing Shift 3 makes it eligible, but does not guarantee that the next shift will be rainy. Source

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
The available guides disagree about the event’s upper shift limit. An early August guide gives Shifts 3–8, while later descriptions say Shift 3 onward. Without confirmation from current in-game information or official documentation, there is no reliable basis to name a maximum. Source Source
What changes during Rain Shift?
Rain is the visible cue, and aquatic-styled patients begin arriving at reception. Guides describe fish-like, shark-like, and angler-fish-like appearances. Source

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Some of these patients can be anomalies, so an aquatic appearance alone is not a reason to admit someone. Follow the normal screening routine:
- Inspect the patient’s visible traits for anything abnormal.
- Take the required photo and review it in-game.
- Check CCTV before deciding whether to admit the patient.
The guides do not establish one settled effect for puddles. One says they slow movement and cannot be removed; an earlier guide claims they restore Sanity, with a different effect for Psychologists. Treat either claim as unverified unless your current game version confirms it. Source Source

How is Rain Shift different from the Hazmat shift?
Rain Shift is signaled by rain and brings aquatic-looking patients into the ordinary Night Shift. The Hazmat or slime shift is a separate special event; the two should not be confused. The guides do not establish further mechanics here beyond that distinction. Source Source
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How certain are these unlock details?
The Shift 3 threshold is consistent across multiple secondary fan guides, including one updated September 17, 2026. The consulted sources are not official developer documentation, and they conflict on the upper shift limit and puddle effects. Use the repeated unlock threshold as the practical guidance, but rely on the live game for disputed mechanics. Source Source Source
