Finish by placing and building Jack’s house. “Pumpkin Town” is not the name of a separate biome in the game; the named area is the Forgotten Lands.
What “Pumpkin Town” means in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The phrase usually points to Jack Skellington’s Halloween Town-themed arrival and the pumpkin-carved tree in the Forgotten Lands, rather than to a separate unlockable location. Gameloft described the Forgotten Lands as a new biome in its June 7, 2023 announcement; the game’s Jack quest is called “Something Comes A’Knocking.”

Requirements to unlock Jack Skellington
- Access to the Forgotten Lands.
- Completion of Fairy Godmother’s “Miracles Take Time.” This is the prerequisite for “Something Comes A’Knocking” and causes Jack’s tree and the dolls to appear.
- Four Matryoshka Dolls, which spawn at random locations around the Valley.
- A spot in the Valley for Jack’s house and enough Star Coins to pay Scrooge McDuck’s construction sign. The current quest and character references confirm the house construction requirement but do not state its cost.
How to complete “Something Comes A’Knocking”
1. Unlock the Forgotten Lands
The Forgotten Lands are in the north-west of the Valley, connected to the Sunlit Plateau. Clear the entrance thorns to open the biome; the current Forgotten Lands reference lists the entrance cost as 10,000 Dreamlight. See the Forgotten Lands location and cost reference.

2. Complete “Miracles Take Time”
Finish Fairy Godmother’s quest “Miracles Take Time.” Once it is complete, the pumpkin tree and Matryoshka Dolls can appear, enabling Merlin’s quest. The prerequisite is listed in the “Something Comes A’Knocking” quest reference.

4. Find and place all four dolls
Collect four dolls in total, then interact with the pumpkin-carved tree in the Forgotten Lands to place them. The quest objective is to place all four dolls in the tree; completing this brings Jack Skellington to the Valley.

The current community-maintained Forgotten Lands reference lists 10,000 Dreamlight to clear its entrance. An October 2024 PC Gamer walkthrough instead reports 7,000 Dreamlight for the Sunlit Plateau and 15,000 for the Forgotten Lands. These figures conflict, so do not treat the older guide’s Forgotten Lands amount as the current entrance cost; check the in-game unlock prompt before spending.

That same October 2024 walkthrough reports 5,000 Star Coins for Jack’s house. The current quest and character references establish that you must build the house but do not confirm its price, so 5,000 Star Coins should be understood only as the figure reported in that older guide, not as a verified current cost. The walkthrough is available at PC Gamer’s Jack Skellington guide.
