To unlock all nine vocations in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, start with Fighter, Strider or Mage, reach character level 10, reach Gran Soren, and spend Discipline Points at a vocation-change NPC. Warrior, Ranger and Sorcerer are advanced vocations. Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer are hybrid vocations available only to the Arisen, not Pawns. The exact Discipline cost for each vocation is not reliably established by the available references, so plan to bring points without relying on a particular number.
In Dark Arisen, Asalam at the Union Inn in Gran Soren and Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor handle vocation changes. Unlocking a vocation requires Discipline Points the first time; changing to a vocation you have already unlocked is free. The groupings and prerequisites are documented by Gamer Guides, while the change locations and unlock-versus-switch distinction are listed in the Dragon’s Dogma Wiki vocation category.

All nine vocations at a glance
There are three access groups. The first group is available when you create your character. The other six become selectable after the same progression gate: level 10, Gran Soren and enough Discipline Points to pay the initial unlock cost.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
What you need before the six locked vocations appear
Reach character level 10
Level 10 is a required threshold for every advanced and hybrid vocation. Being below that level prevents the six locked choices from being available, even if you have already earned Discipline Points.
Reach Gran Soren
Level 10 alone is not sufficient. You must also reach Gran Soren, the city where the standard vocation-change service is provided. If you have not reached Gran Soren, the level requirement is incomplete from the game’s perspective.
Have Discipline Points available
Discipline Points are the currency used for a vocation’s first unlock. The references establish that points are required, but they do not reliably establish one exact cost for each vocation. Do not treat an unverified number as a universal price. Check your current point total before attempting several unlocks, and unlock only the choices you can currently afford.

The Arisen can use all nine groups once the requirements are met. Hybrid vocations are not available to Pawns. A Pawn therefore cannot be changed to Assassin, Mystic Knight or Magick Archer, regardless of the Pawn’s level or the number of Discipline Points held.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Step-by-step: unlock a vocation
- Choose a starting vocation. At character creation, select Fighter, Strider or Mage. This is your initial vocation; the other two basic choices remain part of the basic group for later changes.
- Advance until the character reaches level 10. The six advanced and hybrid choices use level 10 as their minimum character-level gate. Reaching the city without this level does not unlock them.
- Reach Gran Soren. Progress far enough to enter Gran Soren. The city is an explicit part of the unlock condition, so do not expect the choices to appear solely because the level requirement has been met elsewhere.
- Bring Discipline Points. Keep a point reserve for the first unlock of each vocation you want. The exact price is not stated consistently in the available references, so verify the amount shown by the in-game service rather than budgeting from an unconfirmed list.
- Speak with Asalam at the Union Inn. At the Union Inn in Gran Soren, talk to Asalam and open the vocation-change service. The available choices should reflect the Arisen’s progression and your current Discipline Point balance.
- Select a locked vocation and confirm its initial unlock. Choose Warrior, Ranger, Sorcerer, Assassin, Mystic Knight or Magick Archer when eligible. The first time you select one, Discipline Points are required. After confirmation, it becomes an unlocked option for future changes.
- Repeat for the remaining choices. Each vocation is its own unlock. Repeat the selection process while you have enough points and meet the shared progression gate. Hybrid selections must be made for the Arisen, not a Pawn.
Understanding the three vocation groups
Basic: Fighter, Strider and Mage
These are the three starting choices presented during character creation. They form the foundation of the vocation system and do not require the level-10, Gran Soren or initial Discipline Point gate to choose at the beginning of a new game. If you want to change among basic vocations later, use the same vocation-change service described below.
Advanced: Warrior, Ranger and Sorcerer
Advanced vocations are the first set of choices locked behind progression. All three share the same access conditions: character level 10, arrival in Gran Soren and sufficient Discipline Points for the initial unlock. The gate applies to the group as a whole; reaching it does not automatically unlock all three without the required point spending.
Hybrid: Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer
Hybrid vocations are also gated until level 10 and Gran Soren, and they require Discipline Points for their first unlock. Their additional rule is character-based: only the Arisen can select them. If the vocation menu is being opened for a Pawn, the hybrid choices are not valid options and cannot be enabled through extra leveling or point accumulation.
Hybrid pairings and what they mean
The vocation guide presents the hybrids as pairings of the basic vocation identities:

- Black PopSockets: Simple, refined, and endlessly versatile. A timeless essential for any phone.
- Travel Must-Have for People On the Go: A must-have travel accessory for flights, flying, airports, air travel, airplanes, planes, international trips, cruises, and long travel days. Key gadget for your airport haul, travel accessories and must-haves.
| Hybrid vocation | Pairing |
|---|---|
| Assassin | Fighter/Strider |
| Mystic Knight | Fighter/Mage |
| Magick Archer | Strider/Mage |
These pairings describe the hybrid groupings. They are not stated as a separate requirement to level both component vocations first. In practical terms, do not delay an unlock on the assumption that you must first complete a specific Fighter, Strider or Mage progression path. The confirmed gate remains level 10, Gran Soren and Discipline Points, with the hybrid restriction applying to the Arisen.
Where to change vocations in Dark Arisen
Asalam at the Union Inn
Asalam is the standard option in Gran Soren. Visit the Union Inn and speak with him to open the vocation-change interface. This is the earliest named location in the available references for handling the locked choices after you reach the city.
Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor
Dark Arisen also provides Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor as a vocation-change option. If you are already operating from Bitterblack Isle, you do not need to return to Gran Soren solely to access a vocation-change NPC; use Olra at the harbor instead.
Recommended Free Tools
Both NPCs serve the same important distinction: a new vocation consumes Discipline Points for its first unlock, while a vocation you have already unlocked can be selected again without paying an additional unlock fee. The location changes, but the unlock-versus-switch rule does not.

Unlocking versus switching: avoid the common fee mistake
The system has two different transactions. The first is an unlock, which adds a vocation to your available choices and requires Discipline Points. The second is a switch to a vocation already unlocked on that character, which is free. Consequently, a player who changes from Fighter to Warrior and later returns to Fighter is not paying a new unlock cost for Fighter; the cost applies when a vocation is first made available.
This distinction matters when planning points. If you are trying to access all six non-basic vocations, reserve points for six first-time unlocks rather than assuming every later change will consume points. Once a choice has been unlocked, you can revisit it through Asalam or Olra without treating each visit as a new purchase.
Arisen and Pawn availability
| Character | Can use | Cannot use |
|---|---|---|
| Arisen | Basic, advanced and hybrid vocations | None of the nine groups are excluded by the hybrid rule. |
| Pawn | Basic and advanced vocations | Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer. |
If your goal is to build a party around a hybrid vocation, make the change on the Arisen. A Pawn’s inability to use the three hybrid choices is a rule of availability, not a temporary lock that can be removed by reaching a higher level.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTroubleshooting an unavailable vocation
The advanced or hybrid option is missing before level 10
This is expected. Level 10 is a shared minimum for Warrior, Ranger, Sorcerer, Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer. Continue until the character reaches that threshold before diagnosing another problem.

You are level 10 but have not reached Gran Soren
The level threshold does not stand alone. Reach Gran Soren and use the Union Inn service there. Until the city requirement is satisfied, the six locked vocations should not be treated as unlocked.
The menu is available but the purchase cannot be confirmed
Check your Discipline Point balance. The first unlock requires points, and the available references do not establish a dependable universal price for each vocation. If the balance is insufficient, earn or retain more points and try again rather than assuming the character level is the only issue.
You are trying to select a hybrid for a Pawn
This cannot be fixed through leveling or additional Discipline Points. Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer are Arisen-only. Select the vocation on the Arisen, or choose a basic or advanced vocation for the Pawn.

You are at Bitterblack Isle and cannot find the Gran Soren NPC
Use Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor. Dark Arisen provides this second vocation-change location, so the absence of Asalam in Gran Soren does not prevent a change while you are operating from the island.
You paid once and are being asked to pay again after changing away
Confirm whether the target is genuinely new on that character. A first-time unlock uses Discipline Points; switching among already unlocked vocations is free. A second charge indicates that the target has not yet been unlocked, not that every switch carries a fee.
A practical plan for unlocking all nine
- Pick any basic starting choice. Fighter, Strider and Mage are starting options, so choose according to the role you want during the opening portion of the game rather than trying to optimize an unlock fee that does not apply at character creation.
- Track the two progression gates separately. Record whether you have reached level 10 and whether you have reached Gran Soren. You need both; completing only one does not unlock the six later choices.
- Visit the service once the gates are complete. Use Asalam at the Union Inn, or Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor if that is your current location. Opening the menu is the fastest way to see which choices are presently eligible.
- Unlock the three advanced vocations first if you want a straightforward checklist. Warrior, Ranger and Sorcerer are a distinct group, so marking each one as unlocked prevents confusing them with the Arisen-only hybrids.
- Unlock the three hybrids on the Arisen. Assassin, Mystic Knight and Magick Archer share the same progression gate but have the additional character restriction. Do not spend time attempting them through a Pawn.
- Use free switching to verify your completed list. After a vocation has been unlocked, select it again through either NPC without treating the change as another Discipline Point purchase. This lets you confirm which choices are already available.
Completion checklist
- Fighter, Strider or Mage was selected at character creation.
- The character is at least level 10.
- Gran Soren has been reached.
- Discipline Points are available for first-time unlocks.
- Warrior is unlocked.
- Ranger is unlocked.
- Sorcerer is unlocked.
- Assassin is unlocked on the Arisen.
- Mystic Knight is unlocked on the Arisen.
- Magick Archer is unlocked on the Arisen.
- Asalam at the Union Inn or Olra at Bitterblack Isle Harbor is being used for changes.
- Later switches are made with the understanding that already unlocked vocations are free to select.
What is and is not established about Discipline costs
The available references clearly establish the role of Discipline Points but do not reliably provide exact, vocation-by-vocation prices. That means a precise cost table would risk presenting an unsupported number as fact. The safe planning rule is to meet the progression requirements, open the vocation menu, and use the amount displayed for the specific unlock you are confirming. Treat any external list of prices as version- or source-dependent unless it clearly documents the same Dark Arisen edition and conditions.
The structural count is firm: three basic vocations, three advanced vocations and three hybrid vocations. The Gamer Guides list provides the groupings and pairings, and the Dragon’s Dogma Wiki category identifies the two change locations and the free-switch behavior after an initial unlock.
