Short answer: Complete Astra Vosen’s Lost Locket quest. It leads to Astra’s basement, where Timothy Tweed introduces six pillars: Farm, Fishing, Crafting, Forage, Cooking and Social. Each pillar has three objectives, and you may complete them in any order. Earlier qualifying actions in the same save can count, so check your progress before repeating long grinds.
How the pillar quest starts
The pillar storyline begins with Astra Vosen’s Lost Locket quest. Following it takes you to Astra’s basement and introduces Timothy Tweed. He explains that Limbo’s gateway is broken and asks you to complete six pillars to resolve the problem.

The pillars are not a set of sequential stages. Farm, Fishing, Crafting, Forage, Cooking and Social can be worked on simultaneously, and the game can credit qualifying actions made before you formally unlock the pillar objectives. That carry-forward behavior is especially useful for marriage, friendship, quests, crop quality and collection goals.

Every pillar has three requirements. Collection progress is shown in the Family tab’s Collection Book; the other objectives are checked at the pillar display in Astra’s basement.

Where to check your progress
Astra’s basement
Return to Astra’s basement periodically and interact with each pillar. The display records donations, recipe and meal goals, gifts, friendships, marriage and quest completion. Checking early prevents you from repeating an objective that the game has already counted.
Family tab and Collection Book
Collection objectives use a separate tracker. Open the Family tab and inspect the Collection Book for crop, fish, craftable-item and forage totals. The book is the reliable place to verify whether a newly found item has registered as collected; the basement pillars handle the donation and quality checks.
Efficient plan for each pillar
Farm pillar
The Farm pillar combines breadth with quality. You need 26 distinct crops collected, then 30 gold-star crops donated. You also need 30 gold-star animal products, so begin improving crop and animal production well before you finish the collection count.

- Keep at least one example of new crops for the Collection Book instead of selling the entire harvest.
- Reserve your best crops and animal products for pillar donations; selling or cooking every high-quality item can leave you short later.
- Use seasons to plan quality stock. A single season may not provide enough gold-star produce, so preserve space and seeds for future harvests.
Fishing pillar
Fishing requires 28 fish collected, 30 gold-star fish donated and 10 lobsters donated. The collection total rewards variety, while the donation totals reward repeated high-quality catches.
- Record which fish are missing in the Collection Book before choosing a fishing location or season.
- Keep gold-star catches separate from ordinary fish so they are not accidentally sold or used in recipes.
- Treat lobster as its own stockpile target. Do not assume that reaching the fish count also advances the lobster requirement.
Crafting pillar
This pillar asks for 30 crafted resources donated, 59 craftable items collected and 10 crafted placeables donated. “Collected” and “donated” are different checks: making one item can add to the collection while still leaving you short of the donation total.

- Accept quests that reward blueprints, and buy or unlock additional blueprints through leveling.
- Craft one of each new item when materials allow, then retain a reserve for the 30-resource donation requirement.
- Make placeables deliberately and count the 10 donations separately from ordinary crafted resources.
You do not have to manufacture every construction material immediately. Buying items such as nails from the blacksmith can save time while you build skills and equipment, leaving your own materials for pillar-specific crafts.
Forage pillar
Forage is a long collection task: 58 foragables collected, 30 gold-star foragables donated and 10 gold ore donated.

- Check the Collection Book before each route so a trip targets missing entries rather than items you already have.
- Store gold-star forage separately; ordinary versions do not satisfy the quality donation count.
- Mine or gather gold ore whenever the opportunity appears. Ten pieces is a separate donation goal, not part of the 58-item collection total.
Cooking pillar
Cooking has three different kinds of progress: learn 50 recipes, donate 20 gold-star meals and gift 30 gold-star meals to different villagers. The last requirement is not simply a count of meals; the meals must go to 30 different villagers.
- Prioritize quests that reward recipes and pursue blueprint or recipe unlocks from leveling.
- Cook in batches because meals take time, and plan around your schedule instead of waiting at the cooking station for one dish at a time.
- Food degrades over time. Higher-quality food lasts longer, so keep gold-star meals for donations and gifts and avoid producing them far earlier than necessary.
- Maintain a written or in-game checklist of villagers who have received a gold-star meal. Giving two qualifying meals to one person does not replace two different recipients.
Social pillar
Social requires 10 friends, marriage and 30 completed quests. Because earlier actions can count, start conversations, court a partner and finish available errands before the pillars become your main objective.
- Build friendships gradually rather than waiting for a final sprint; regular interaction is easier to fit around farming and gathering.
- Track your relationship path toward marriage so the requirement is not left until the end of the gateway storyline.
- Accept quests from all three sources: the Town Hall bulletin board, villagers showing a question mark and your mailbox.
- Use the quest page to track accepted work and the map to find the correct turn-in character. A completed objective only helps after the quest is properly turned in.
What happens when a pillar is complete?
When a pillar reaches all three requirements, the game marks it with a cutscene and a small plum tree at the pillar. Completing all six triggers the celebratory sequence that concludes the broken-gateway storyline involving Limbo. If a count appears stuck, check the Collection Book for collection goals and the basement display for donations, quality requirements and social milestones before doing more work.

Are there cheats in Echoes of the Plum Grove?
There is no established built-in cheat-code system or confirmed developer console in the available guidance. Search results do include a WeMod trainer for the PC version, but that is third-party software, not an in-game command. Trainer features, supported versions and save behavior can change after game updates, so compatibility must be verified for the exact version you run.
Risks of a third-party trainer
- A trainer can alter money, items, stamina or other values in ways the game was not designed to handle.
- Updates may make a trainer incompatible, cause crashes or produce incorrect pillar counts.
- Modified saves can interfere with achievements, cloud synchronization or later updates.
- Download only from a source you trust, scan files, and back up your save before testing anything.
Because the pillar requirements are mostly counters, a trainer that adds items may not automatically satisfy collection, quality, recipe, gifting or “different villagers” checks. It can therefore create an inventory full of materials without advancing the relevant pillar.
Mods: a safer way to customize the game?
The game supports downloadable modifications through Steam Workshop, and the community documentation also describes manual installation with a mod folder and mod-developer tools. Mods are still external software: they are not cheat codes, and each one can break when the game updates.
- Read the mod’s supported game version and installation notes before subscribing or copying files.
- Back up your saves and note which mods are active.
- Install one mod at a time so a conflict can be identified.
- Launch the game and test a disposable save before loading your main farm.
- Remove or update outdated mods before troubleshooting a new patch.
Workshop availability and manual file layouts can change, so follow the current instructions supplied with the specific mod rather than copying an old folder path from a forum post.
Common problems and fixes
“I completed the task before unlocking the pillar, but it is not counted.”
Most qualifying actions can carry forward, but verify the exact category. Open the Collection Book for collected items and revisit the basement for donation or milestone checks. If a requirement still shows no progress, make one additional qualifying action after unlocking the pillars, then return to the basement.

“My gold-star total is lower than expected.”
Ordinary items do not satisfy gold-star requirements. Check that you donated the quality version, not a regular copy, and that meals or products were accepted by the correct pillar display. Keep high-quality items in a dedicated chest until the counter advances.
“The cooking gift requirement will not finish.”
The game requires gold-star meals given to 30 different villagers. Repeating gifts to the same villager will not substitute for new recipients. Use a checklist and verify each recipient before handing over another meal.
“The collection number looks wrong.”
Collection goals count distinct entries, not the number of copies in storage. Open the Family tab’s Collection Book, identify missing entries and target those items. Donations use separate totals and can require many copies of an item you have already collected.
“A quest is complete but the Social pillar did not move.”
Check the quest page and make sure the task was turned in to the correct character. Quest offers can come from the Town Hall board, a villager’s question mark or the mailbox, and the map can show the turn-in location.

- Start the Lost Locket quest as soon as it becomes available and visit Astra’s basement after Timothy Tweed introduces the pillars.
- Open the Collection Book and note missing crops, fish, craftables and foragables.
- Begin saving gold-star crops, animal products, fish, forage and meals in separate storage.
- Take blueprint- and recipe-rewarding quests while completing ordinary Town Hall, villager and mailbox work.
- Fish and forage during routine travel, and mine gold ore whenever it appears instead of postponing all ten pieces.
- Build friendships and pursue marriage alongside farming rather than treating Social as a final chapter.
- Cook in batches, protect food quality and distribute gold-star meals to 30 different villagers.
- Visit Astra’s basement regularly, complete any remaining donations and inspect the cutscene and plum tree after each pillar closes.
This approach turns the pillars into overlapping routines instead of six separate grinds. The key is to preserve quality items, track distinct collections and start social and quest progress early.
