To unlock and use Izuku Midoriya in My Hero Ultra Rumble, first identify which version you want. The original launch Midoriya, the Full Bullet Quirk Skill Set, and the separate Izuku Midoriya OFA character use different unlock routes and have different moves. Check the live in-game Roll, Shop, Hero License and event notices before spending tickets: banners rotate, and the documented OFA character Roll ended on September 30, 2026.
Once you have the correct version, learn its roles rather than copying an unverified combo. OFA combines long-range pressure, a fast charge, Gearshift/Overdrive and ally support. Full Bullet focuses on multi-wave ranged attacks, area damage and vertical repositioning. The descriptions below reflect Bandai Namco’s published character information; no independent damage figures are provided.
Which Midoriya are you trying to unlock?
Bandai Namco treats these as separate options. Selecting the wrong banner or assuming that a Quirk Skill Set is a new character can waste limited resources, so check the name and category shown in the game first.

“OFA” should not be read as another name for the launch character. It is a distinct character listing, while Full Bullet is a Skill Set that changes how a Midoriya character’s skills function.

Check live availability before using tickets or Roll currency
Unlock conditions are seasonal. The dates below are useful for interpreting older guides, but they are not a permanent schedule:
- A Bandai Namco developer blog dated September 24, 2025 introduced the OFA character and described his abilities.
- Bandai Namco’s May 13, 2026 maintenance notice recorded balance changes affecting original Midoriya and Full Bullet.
- A current database listing reported that the OFA character Roll ended September 30, 2026.
- The same listing showed another OFA battle style scheduled for October 14, 2026. Because that date has passed, treat the listing as a historical snapshot and verify the replacement or current banner in the game.
Before you buy, roll or exchange anything, open the current Roll and Shop screens, inspect the Hero License and event notices, and read the item’s eligibility text. If OFA is absent, do not assume that a generic character ticket will unlock it; wait for an explicitly listed route or a new official announcement.

Unlocking each version
Original Midoriya and Battle Style Tickets
A third-party roster and unlock guide reports that Battle Style Tickets can come from Special License leveling, the Research Notebook and some events. Those tickets can unlock characters that appear on the eligible list. No current official listing confirms that Izuku Midoriya OFA is eligible for this route, and the ticket is not a universal substitute for a character Roll.

- Open the game’s ticket or character-exchange screen and locate the current eligible Battle Style list.
- Confirm whether the exact listing is original Izuku Midoriya, Izuku Midoriya OFA or another battle style. Similar names are not proof that the entries are interchangeable.
- If the desired character appears, review the required ticket type and exchange cost before confirming.
- If the character does not appear, keep the ticket. A later banner or event may use a different currency or eligibility pool.
For a player who already sees the original Midoriya in the roster, no additional Skill Set purchase is required to use that base version. Full Bullet remains a separate Roll item.
Full Bullet Quirk Skill Set
Bandai Namco’s Season 3 page identifies Full Bullet as Midoriya’s Quirk Skill Set and says Skill Sets are available from Rolls. Open the live Roll menu, find the banner that lists Full Bullet, and read its featured-item and pity or exchange rules before committing currency. The Season 3 description does not establish a permanent banner, fixed probability or guaranteed number of attempts, so do not rely on an old percentage or date from another guide.
- Open Roll from the main menu.
- Look for a banner whose rewards explicitly include the Full Bullet Skill Set.
- Open the banner’s details to verify the currency, duration and whether Full Bullet is a featured or exchangeable reward.
- After obtaining it, equip Full Bullet from Midoriya’s character or Skill Set screen before entering a match.
If Full Bullet is not listed, the correct conclusion is that it is not available through that live banner at that moment—not that the Skill Set has been removed permanently.
Izuku Midoriya OFA
The documented OFA Roll ended on September 30, 2026. That means a player reading this on October 17, 2026 should not be given a present-tense promise that the original banner is still available. Open the live Roll and Shop first. Look for a returning OFA banner, a replacement battle-style banner, or an event exchange that names OFA explicitly.
Bandai Namco’s September 30, 2026 anniversary developer blog described a temporary reward for completing every mission: a special ticket guaranteeing a Battle Style from a specified past-season range. It also described another special ticket awarded at Hero License Rank 30 during that event. The announcement describes a selection pool, not a guarantee of Midoriya OFA. Read the pool shown in the current event panel before treating either ticket as an OFA unlock.

- Open the current event notice and record the event’s end time and mission requirements.
- Check the ticket’s stated season range or character pool.
- Complete missions only if the reward pool includes the exact Midoriya version you want, or if you are comfortable receiving another listed Battle Style.
- Claim the ticket before the event expires and use it on the event’s designated exchange screen.
If no live Roll, ticket pool or event names OFA, there is no confirmed current unlock instruction. Save your resources and monitor in-game announcements rather than using a ticket on a similar-looking entry.
How to use Izuku Midoriya OFA
Bandai Namco describes OFA as demanding because he has several abilities with different jobs. The safest way to learn him is to practice each role separately, then connect them according to the situation. The following descriptions are the publisher’s documented functions; the suggested sequencing is practical interpretation, not a tested optimal combo.

Build a basic learning loop
- Start with α at safe distance. Its wide reach makes it the clearest tool for learning spacing. Watch how much room you need before committing to another action.
- Use β as a movement decision, not an automatic attack. The charge can close distance quickly, but charging into several opponents can remove your escape option. Practice stopping near cover or an isolated target.
- Learn γ separately. Gearshift and Overdrive add a timing layer. Enter the training area or a low-risk match and identify the visual or interface confirmation that the enhanced state is active before trying to chain pressure.
- Reserve Smoke Screen for team value. Because Bandai Namco identifies it as ally support, place it where a teammate can use the cover rather than dropping it only for personal damage.
- Add Fa Jin after you understand the unenhanced abilities. Enhancements are easier to judge when you know the normal range, timing and recovery of each move. Do not spend the resource simply because it is available.
A useful mental model is pressure, approach, enhance, support: α can create pressure, β changes distance, γ and Fa Jin provide an enhancement window, and Smoke Screen protects team movement. The order is situational. A safe retreat may begin with Smoke Screen and β, while an isolated opponent may allow α pressure before a charge. No published source establishes one universally strongest sequence.

Team and positioning considerations
OFA’s kit gives him both personal mobility and a support tool. Stay close enough that Smoke Screen can matter to teammates, but not so close that one enemy attack catches the entire group. Use long-range reach to check an approach, then decide whether β improves your position or merely exposes you. When Overdrive is available, look for a clear window rather than activating it while surrounded. These are decision rules derived from the documented roles, not claims of measured win-rate or damage superiority.
How to use the Full Bullet Skill Set
Full Bullet changes all three cited Quirk Skills, so it rewards a different rhythm from OFA. Its documented tools cover repeated ranged pressure, an area attack that benefits from height and a movement option that creates vertical access.

Full Bullet practice priorities
- Practice α without aiming, then while aiming. The published description specifically says aiming tightens the spread and increases range, so learn when precision is worth the time spent aiming.
- Use β from elevation when the position is secure. Higher activation is described as more powerful, but height is not automatically safe. Check whether opponents can punish the landing or approach.
- Hold γ long enough to understand the climb. The raised earth can change your route. Practice jumping from it, moving behind it and abandoning the setup when an opponent closes in.
- Rotate between ranged pressure and movement. Full Bullet’s listed tools suggest a pattern of attacking from distance, taking height, then relocating rather than standing still and repeating one skill.
Do not label Full Bullet “stronger” or “weaker” than OFA based on these descriptions. No comparative testing, damage table or independent performance statistic was provided. The meaningful difference is the type of decisions each set asks you to make.

Full Bullet or OFA: which should you learn first?

This is a play-style comparison, not a tier list. Your choice should also depend on which version is currently obtainable and which mechanics you are willing to practice.
Patch changes make old advice unreliable
On May 13, 2026, Bandai Namco recorded two relevant adjustments: original Midoriya’s derivative α, “Delaware Smash Air Force: Full Burst,” received increased damage, and Full Bullet’s α was adjusted so opponents were easier to knock back. The notice does not provide a permanent guarantee that later patches leave those values unchanged.
Before following an old combo, tier list or damage claim, read the latest maintenance notes. Exact numbers, hit behavior, knockback and resource timing can change without changing the character’s name. If a guide predates the May 2026 notice, treat its move descriptions and recommendations as potentially stale.

Troubleshooting unlock problems
“I bought a ticket, but OFA is not available.”
Check the ticket’s eligible list. General Battle Style Tickets are reported to work only for listed characters, and no current official listing confirms OFA eligibility. A ticket cannot force an unlisted character into the exchange.
“I found Midoriya, but not Full Bullet.”
Full Bullet is a Skill Set, so look in the Roll banner and Skill Set equipment screens rather than only in the base-character roster. Confirm that the live banner actually names Full Bullet.

The recorded OFA Roll ended September 30, 2026. Search current announcements for a rerun, replacement banner or event pool. Do not assume that a past banner’s currency, odds or deadline still applies.
“An anniversary ticket does not show OFA.”
The September 30, 2026 event description promised a Battle Style from a specified past-season range, not Midoriya OFA specifically. Read the pool shown in your event panel; if OFA is absent, the ticket cannot guarantee him.
“My old Full Bullet combo behaves differently.”
Check the latest maintenance notes. The May 13, 2026 notice changed Full Bullet α’s knockback behavior, and future patches may alter it again.

In matches, learn OFA as a flexible range-and-mobility character with ally support, or learn Full Bullet as a ranged and height-oriented Skill Set. Always confirm the live banner and current patch notes before committing resources or trusting older advice.
