What you need to unlock a DLC character
DLC characters are paid content, not fighters established by completing an in-game challenge. You need the base game as well as the fighter’s DLC entitlement, unless your edition or pass bundles it. Check the current store listing for your platform and region: pass contents and individual-purchase options can differ.

SNK’s official product page lists six Season Pass 2 fighters as available: Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, Wolfgang Krauser, Mr. Karate, and Kenshiro. Because the product page and storefront catalogs can change, confirm that the character is currently offered before buying.
SNK’s January 2026 Season 2 announcement describes the Legend Edition as the base game plus Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2. Edition contents and regional offers can change, so verify the current listing before purchase. The same official product information says an internet connection is required to access all game content.

Season Pass 2 or an individual character purchase?
SNK announced that Season 3 would begin July 23, 2026, with monthly character and content updates. Its announced character schedule included Rick Strowd in July, Duck King in August, Kim Kaphwan in September, an unnamed mystery fighter in October, Laocorn in November, and another unnamed mystery fighter in December. These are announced release plans, not a guarantee that every character is currently available in every store.
SNK also said characters that had previously been exclusive to season passes would become available for individual purchase during Season 3, directing players to storefront listings for applicable fighters. As SNK put it, “DLC characters are now available for individual purchase!” The announcement’s storefront qualification matters: do not assume that every fighter is sold separately on every platform or in every region.

Before choosing a pass or a single character, compare the exact included fighters, whether the fighter has been released, whether an individual listing exists in your store, and the total price displayed there. The official announcements do not establish one current price for every region.
How to select and play a DLC fighter
- Confirm that you own Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and that the fighter is included in your pass or edition, or is individually available to you through your platform’s store.
- Launch the game and open the mode you want to play.
- At that mode’s character-selection screen, select the DLC fighter. In Episodes of South Town (EOST), selecting a character begins that character’s adventure.
SNK describes EOST as “a mode where you go on adventures across the eponymous South Town while experiencing each character’s storyline.” In that mode, you can level the selected character and equip special skills; those are EOST progression systems, not steps for unlocking the paid DLC entitlement.

If the character is not showing up
Start by checking whether the purchase completed and whether the platform’s current DLC listing shows that fighter as available for your account and region. The official materials do not give one universal installation, restart, or license-refresh procedure. For platform-specific purchase or installation issues, follow the support instructions for the platform you use rather than applying a one-size-fits-all fix.
