Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallTo access Seekers of the Storm, you need Risk of Rain 2 and the expansion. On Steam, one person owning the DLC enables its content for the multiplayer lobby. Start a run and pursue the Path of the Colossus; much of the expansion is found along that route. The Halcyon Shrine is a relevant new interactable, but it is not guaranteed to appear on Stage 1.
What you need to access the expansion
On Steam, the base game Risk of Rain 2 is required to use Seekers of the Storm. Steam says that one player owning the DLC is enough to enable the expansion for the whole multiplayer lobby. Players who do not own it can join, but cannot select the DLC’s new Survivors or permanently unlock its new items, logbooks, and other content. These ownership details are confirmed for Steam; equivalent rules for console storefronts are not established here. Steam’s Seekers of the Storm listing gives the product and access details.

How to start finding the expansion content
- Confirm access. Make sure you have the base game and that you or another player in your Steam lobby owns the DLC.
- Start a run. Gearbox directs players toward the Path of the Colossus, where much of the expansion content is found.
- Look for the route and its clues as you play. The Halcyon Shrine is one of the expansion’s new interactables, but the official release information does not provide a complete step-by-step sequence for starting the path or a guaranteed shrine location. Do not rely on a specific stage or interaction order as certain.
Gearbox’s August 27, 2024 release announcement describes the route as something players must uncover: “Survivors that are intrepid enough to take on this challenge will need to uncover how to start down this path.” The announcement identifies the Path of the Colossus, but does not give a full walkthrough. Read Gearbox’s release announcement.
Why the Halcyon Shrine may not appear on Stage 1
The shrine is not a guaranteed opening-stage spawn. In its October 8, 2026 patch notes, 2K said the Halcyon Shrine is much less likely to spawn on Stage 1 and estimated that it appears there in about 50% of runs. The adjustment followed feedback that frequent early shrines made runs feel front-loaded and created an unhealthy expectation that the shrine would be present on Stage 1. See 2K’s October 8, 2026 patch notes.

Starting the route is different from unlocking everything
Reaching or starting the Path of the Colossus is not the same as permanently unlocking every DLC feature. Gearbox lists new Survivors, stages, and the False Son boss among the expansion’s additions. Steam’s listing distinguishes lobby access from permanent unlock eligibility: a non-owner can join a lobby where the DLC is enabled, but cannot select its new Survivors or permanently unlock DLC content. Seekers of the Storm launched on August 27, 2024.
