To participate, install the current Battlefield 6 or REDSEC update, open the Play menu after the event starts, select its event tile, and use Challenges to see the objectives that are actually live for your account. EA has announced the event theme, mode and reward categories, but not the individual challenge names, requirements or reward thresholds yet. The in-game Challenges screen is therefore the authoritative checklist when the event launches.
The event brings the 16-player cooperative Marker Incursion experience to Area 51. Your squad fights AI-controlled Marked Soldiers, uses the Pulse Rifle Battle Pickup and works toward destroying the Marker. Complete the objectives and weekly challenges before the countdown expires; standard event rules award bonus path points, with 10 points unlocking one event tier.

What the Dead Space event is and when it runs
Electronic Arts announced the Battlefield 6 x Dead Space: Convergence Event in its October 12, 2026 game update. The limited-time event is planned for October 20 through November 7, 2026 and adds the event to Area 51. The announcement describes a cooperative activity called Marker Incursion, rather than a normal competitive multiplayer playlist.
Because the event had not started when EA published those details, the announcement does not include the challenge-by-challenge route players will need to follow. It also does not assign a particular reward to a named objective or disclose the number of points required for each individual reward. Any page claiming a complete list before the live Challenges menu is available is making assumptions that EA has not confirmed.

EA’s own description gives the central objective: “Destroy the Marker and stop the Convergence Event before the madness spreads.” Read the complete announcement at EA’s Battlefield 6 Game Update 2.1.1.0.
How to enter the event and find its challenges
Follow these steps once the event is live. Menu names can vary slightly by platform or language, but EA’s event guide identifies the Play menu and Challenges as the relevant locations.
- Install every available update. Start Battlefield 6 or REDSEC and allow the game to finish downloading and applying the current patch. Event content may not appear while the client is running an older build.
- Sign in to the correct EA Account. Progress and rewards are tied to the account you use to play. Confirm that you are not on a secondary platform profile before beginning a long session.
- Open Play after October 20. Look for the Dead Space event tile in the Play menu. EA says a running event displays a countdown; record the deadline shown for your account and region rather than relying on a screenshot from another time zone.
- Select the event tile. This opens the event panel and should expose its current progress, available tiers and any access information shown by the game.
- Open Challenges. Read both the event objectives and the weekly challenges. The wording in this screen determines what counts, which mode is required and whether a task has a separate completion limit.
- Capture the exact wording before you queue. If an objective mentions a weapon, class, map, action or number of completions, write it down or use the platform’s capture feature. The pre-launch announcement does not provide these details, so the live text is the reliable reference.
- Play the required activity and check progress. Return to the Challenges panel after a match to confirm that the counter advanced. A completed round is not proof that a challenge progressed if its conditions were different from the general mode objective.
EA’s event instructions are available in its Battlefield 6 event guide. The guide explains the general event interface; it does not replace the Dead Space event’s own live objective text.

Battlefield 6’s standard event system gives bonus path points for completing event objectives and weekly challenges within the event window. Ten bonus path points unlock one new event tier reward. The Dead Space announcement does not state whether it changes that standard rate, adds a separate path or uses a special rule, so verify the number displayed in the event panel.

Event objectives versus weekly challenges
- Event objectives are the tasks attached to the Dead Space event itself. They remain visible in the event’s Challenges area and are intended to move you along its reward path.
- Weekly challenges are time-limited tasks that rotate or expire according to the schedule shown in your client. A weekly task can contribute to event progress only while the event interface says it is active.
- Tier rewards are granted when your accumulated bonus path points reach the displayed threshold. Do not assume that the reward order or threshold is identical to another Battlefield event.
The practical rule is to read the requirement, confirm the point value, complete it before its own timer expires and then check the event path. EA has not published the Dead Space challenge names, point values, weekly rotation or tier mapping in the announcement available before launch.
What happens in Marker Incursion
Marker Incursion is described as a 16-player PvE experience in Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. It takes place in Area 51 and pits players against hordes of AI-controlled Marked Soldiers. The mode includes a Pulse Rifle Battle Pickup, and the stated objective is to destroy the Marker.
What is confirmed
- The activity is cooperative PvE, not a standard player-versus-player match.
- The lobby size is 16 players.
- AI-controlled Marked Soldiers are the opposing force.
- The Pulse Rifle appears as a Battle Pickup.
- Destroying the Marker is the mode’s announced end goal.
What is not confirmed
- EA has not said that every event challenge must be completed in Marker Incursion.
- No official requirement says a specific class, weapon, route or difficulty is mandatory for a particular reward.
- The announcement does not specify the number of waves, match duration, respawn rules, difficulty options or matchmaking restrictions.
Use the mode’s announced objective as your first orientation, but follow the exact challenge text for progression. For example, a task could require a certain action during Marker Incursion, a general match statistic or a weekly condition outside the mode; there is no published basis for choosing one interpretation in advance.

| Weapon stickers | Two Weapon Stickers | Not stated by EA |
| Soldier patches | Soldier Patches | Not stated by EA |
| Player Card item | Player Card Background | Not stated by EA |

The announcement does not confirm whether the event has a premium-only reward path, a purchase gate or a separate bundle requirement. Battlefield events can use more than one progression path, but treat that as a general possibility until the Dead Space event panel identifies which rewards are available to your account.
A reliable completion workflow
Before the event starts
- Update Battlefield 6 or REDSEC and launch once so any account or content synchronization can finish.
- Check that your EA Account is linked to the platform profile on which you intend to play.
- Leave enough storage and download time for a patch released close to launch. The event cannot be selected if the required content is not installed.
- Plan sessions across the event window instead of assuming every challenge will be available on the final day. Weekly tasks may have their own expiry times.
On launch day
- Open Play and locate the event tile.
- Read the countdown and note the date and time displayed by your client.
- Open Challenges and copy the objective wording, point values and any weekly reset information.
- Identify the shortest or soonest-expiring tasks first, then queue for the mode named by the challenge.
- After each match, reopen the challenge panel and verify that progress registered before changing equipment or activity.
During the event
Keep a simple checklist with the challenge text, current counter, points earned and expiry time. This prevents a common mistake: finishing a match that feels relevant but does not satisfy the exact condition. If several objectives can be completed in the same session, prioritize the one with the nearest deadline while making sure the other requirement is still active.
For Marker Incursion, communicate the announced objective to your squad, watch for the Pulse Rifle Battle Pickup and focus on the Marker when the live mission directs you to do so. Those are mode fundamentals, not substitutes for any additional event condition shown in Challenges.
In the final days
- Open the event panel before every session and read the remaining countdown.
- Check weekly challenges for tasks that have expired or are about to rotate.
- Finish any nearly completed objective first if its point value will unlock a tier.
- Allow time for a match to end, the result to synchronize and the reward to appear before the event closes.
- Do not assume that an unfinished match will be credited after the deadline. EA states that additional event rewards cannot be earned once the event ends.
Access, account and connection requirements
EA says the listed content requires Battlefield 6 or Battlefield REDSEC with all game updates installed. Its event help documentation also specifies an EA Account and a persistent internet connection. Depending on your platform, an associated platform account and subscription may be required to access online play.

The event tile is missing
Confirm that the event window has opened in your region, restart the game after installing updates and check the Play menu again. A pre-launch client will not necessarily display a selectable event tile. If the event is running for other players but not for you, verify the signed-in EA Account and platform connection before troubleshooting a specific challenge.
The counter stays at zero
Re-read the requirement character by character. Check whether it specifies a particular mode, weapon, class, map, action, team result or number of completions. Complete another match that unmistakably satisfies the wording, then return to Challenges. Do not rely on a general Marker Incursion victory unless the objective explicitly counts it.
A weekly challenge disappeared
Weekly tasks can expire or rotate. Compare the task’s timer with the event countdown and open the current Challenges list rather than using an old screenshot or community checklist. A replacement task may have different conditions.

A tier appears unlocked but the item is not visible
EA recommends restarting the game and checking that you are using the correct account and the correct reward section. The help article notes that rewards can take a few minutes or a relaunch to appear. Record the completed objective and the time it finished before contacting support, especially if the event countdown is close to ending.
Information EA has not published yet
As of the October 12 announcement and the October 9 Season 5 roadmap, the following details remain unconfirmed:
- Individual challenge names and exact requirements.
- Weekly challenge rotation, reset times and point values.
- The bonus path threshold for each named Dead Space reward.
- The order in which the Aegis VII skin, weapon package, stickers, patches, Player Card Background and Bundles unlock.
- Whether there is a premium path, purchase gate or other account-specific access rule.
- Any challenge that requires a particular weapon, class, route, difficulty or map behavior.
The Season 5 roadmap says that more Dead Space details would arrive closer to launch. Once those details are released, compare them with the live Challenges panel; the in-game requirements and countdown control what your account can actually earn.
