Bandai Namco says MRP earned in missions can be used to unlock additional fighter jets. Aircraft Tree purchases draw on the same progression budget as weapons and upgrades, so buying one item delays other purchases. The official ACE COMBAT 8 walkthrough also recommends choosing aircraft for the mission objective and playstyle, then selecting special weapons and parts to suit the task.

This is a planning approach, not a publisher-confirmed optimal unlock order. Tom’s Guide reports that MRP can also buy extra jets for teammates, further increasing the number of competing uses for the currency.

- Start with the next mission. Check its briefing and choose a purchase that helps meet its objectives rather than unlocking a jet solely because it is available.
- Keep mission restrictions in mind. Tom’s Guide reports that some mid-game missions restrict the player to carrier-capable aircraft. Check the briefing and aircraft selection screen before spending nearly all your MRP; the applicable restriction can depend on the mission and game state.
- Fit weapons and parts to the job. An aircraft unlock is only one part of mission preparation. Special weapons and upgrade parts can be combined to tailor an aircraft to the targets and your playstyle, according to the official walkthrough.
There is no published cost table or confirmed best purchase sequence in the cited sources. The useful decision is therefore mission-specific: compare what a new aircraft, weapon, or upgrade would help you do next, and spend accordingly.

How to earn MRP more efficiently
Bandai Namco confirms that MRP comes from missions, but does not publish a full payout formula, a score-to-MRP conversion, or an official ranking of missions by MRP per minute. The available evidence does not establish that a particular weapon, difficulty setting, or route is mathematically best.
Power Up Gaming’s September 29, 2026 launch-period guide recommends replaying missions with many accessible targets—such as dense groups of ground targets, ships, or mixed forces—through Free Mission once that mode is available. Treat this as a third-party suggestion to try, not a guaranteed fastest method or a controlled comparison.

- After each run, compare the MRP you received with the time it took and whether you completed the mission reliably. Keep the route that works best with your aircraft, loadout, and skill.
- Do not assume that a farming route from another Ace Combat game works the same way here.
Campaign, Online, and ACE PASS are separate progression tracks
Campaign aircraft use mission-earned MRP and Aircraft Tree purchases. Online progression is separate: Bandai Namco says Online has its own save data, aircraft availability expands with Mercenary rank, and aircraft gain levels through sorties to improve stats and unlock abilities. The Online FAQ says aircraft there are acquired through rewards earned as a mercenary pilot. These Online systems are not a way to farm campaign MRP.

The free ACE PASS is a seasonal Online progression track that earns XP by completing Online missions. In Season 1, Bandai Namco’s Europe FAQ lists the ADFX-02 Morgan–PIXY as a Level 1 reward on the Premium pass. The official website says Premium ACE PASS PLUS adds a 30-level skip. Season details can change, so check the current terms before relying on a particular reward.

The Deluxe Edition includes a voucher for one season of Premium ACE PASS PLUS. However, the FAQ says the Morgan–PIXY must be unlocked by completing Campaign Mode before it can be used in Campaign. The paid pass can affect seasonal progression; it does not provide a general shortcut through the campaign Aircraft Tree.
