Uninstall the separate Soulstonia – Demo entry from your Steam Library: right-click it, choose Manage → Uninstall, and confirm. Then open Steam → Settings → Storage to verify that the correct library is using less space. This removes the demo through Steam’s own installation records, while giving you a chance to protect any local progress first.
What you are uninstalling
Soulstonia is a Gabriel’s Games title distributed on Steam. The demo is a separate Steam application named Soulstonia – Demo, not merely a switch inside the full game. SteamDB lists the demo under AppID 4448060 and the parent Soulstonia game under AppID 4432150. SteamDB records the demo’s release date as 8 October 2026.

That distinction matters when you search your Library. Removing the demo should target the entry labeled Soulstonia – Demo. Do not select the full Soulstonia application unless you intend to remove that installation too.
Before uninstalling: decide what should happen to your progress
Uninstalling removes installed program files. It does not give a Soulstonia-specific guarantee that every local save will be restored if you reinstall the demo later. SteamDB maintains a Soulstonia demo cloud-save page, so check whether Steam Cloud is being used and preserve anything important before confirming deletion.

Use Steam Cloud as a check, not as your only backup
- Open the Soulstonia – Demo entry in your Steam Library and review its available properties and cloud-save status.
- Allow Steam to finish any pending synchronization before uninstalling. A save that has not synchronized may exist only on the computer where you played.
- If the progress matters, make a separate copy of the relevant local save data before removing the demo. The available sources do not establish one universal Soulstonia save-folder path, so do not delete or copy arbitrary folders based on a guessed location.
Cloud synchronization and local files are different things. Cloud data may remain associated with your Steam account while local demo files disappear, but the available documentation does not promise that every save can be restored after removal. Treat a manual backup as the safer choice for valuable progress.
How to uninstall Soulstonia – Demo in Steam
Steam’s normal uninstall flow updates its library records as it removes the files. That is safer than deleting a folder first, because Steam can otherwise continue to think the application is installed.
- Open the Steam client.
- Select Library.
- Find Soulstonia – Demo. If the list is long, use the Library search field and enter the full demo name.
- Right-click the demo entry. You can also open its Manage menu if that is how the current Steam client presents the command.
- Choose Manage → Uninstall.
- Confirm the deletion when Steam asks.
- Wait for Steam to finish. Do not close the client while the uninstall is still being processed.
After completion, the demo should no longer be represented as an installed application in that library. Steamworks documentation explains that players who already have a demo in their library continue to see it so they can uninstall it, but cannot launch it again. In other words, seeing a library listing is not proof that the demo remains installed; the relevant check is its installation state and the space reported for its library.

Confirm that Steam storage was actually freed
- Open the Steam menu and choose Settings.
- Select Storage.
- Choose the library where Soulstonia – Demo was installed.
- Review the installed applications and the library’s used-space figure.
Steam’s Storage page is the authoritative place to review installed-game libraries and folders. Recheck it after the uninstall has finished rather than relying only on the Library list. If you use more than one drive, inspect each library that could have contained the demo.

A library can be on a custom or secondary drive rather than the default Windows location. Steam documents adding alternate libraries from Storage with the + button. If the drive or library is not listed, add it in Storage before deciding that the uninstall failed; you may simply be looking at a different library than the one that held the demo.
Why the recovered amount may not match the published requirement
The official Soulstonia listing specifies 500 MB available space for Windows and 1 GB available space for macOS (Valve/Steam, 2026). Those figures are published requirements for having enough free space, not a promise that uninstalling will return exactly that amount.

The amount returned can differ because of patches, download caches, and Steam shader data. Storage overhead can also be measured differently by the operating system and Steam. Use the before-and-after value shown for the specific library, rather than treating 500 MB or 1 GB as a guaranteed refund of disk space.

Work through these checks in order. They distinguish a display or library-record problem from files that genuinely remain on the drive.

1. Check every Steam library
In Steam → Settings → Storage, select each listed library in turn. The demo may have been installed on an alternate drive, while you are checking the default library. If the expected library is absent, use Storage’s + control to add the alternate library, then inspect its installed applications.
2. Refresh the Storage view
Let the uninstall complete, close and reopen the Storage page, and compare the same library’s used-space figure. A Library entry can remain visible for account or ownership reasons even when its installed files have been removed, so use Storage and the application’s installation status rather than the mere presence of the title in your account.
3. Repair the library folder
Steam documents a Repair Folder action for a library that is not behaving correctly. Use it from the Storage controls for the affected library, then return to the installed-app list and check the space again. Repairing the library is preferable to deleting registry-like files or randomly removing content from Steam’s folders.
4. Verify installation files when Steam reports an installation problem
If Steam still identifies Soulstonia – Demo as installed or reports corrupted installation data, open the application’s properties and use Installed Files → Verify Integrity. Verification is an installation-repair action; it is not a substitute for the normal uninstall command when your goal is to remove the demo. After verification completes, repeat the uninstall and Storage check if Steam still lists an installation.

5. Distinguish Steam data from unrelated disk usage
Steam’s Storage total covers the selected library, not every byte on the drive. Other games, downloads, workshop content, shader data, and operating-system files can continue using space after the demo is gone. Compare the library’s own total and application list before searching outside Steam.

Do not begin by deleting files in steamapps while Steam is open. Manual deletion can leave Steam’s installation state out of sync and can remove files belonging to another title if the wrong folder is chosen.
On Windows, Steam’s normal installed-game directory is C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommon, although a custom library uses its own equivalent path. Only investigate this location after Steam’s uninstall has completed and Storage still indicates unexpected usage.

- Exit Steam completely, including any Steam process still running in the notification area.
- Open the
commonfolder for the specific library that held the demo. - Look for a folder clearly belonging to Soulstonia – Demo. Do not delete a similarly named folder unless you have confirmed that it is the demo and not the full game.
- If a verified leftover folder remains, remove only that folder.
- Reopen Steam and return to Settings → Storage to check the library again.
This is a cautious cleanup step, not a Soulstonia-specific Steam script. Steam’s official documentation covers the library and Storage controls; it does not document a dedicated Soulstonia cleanup utility. If you cannot identify the folder with confidence, leave it in place and use Steam’s Repair Folder and verification tools instead.

Common failure cases and what to do
The demo is visible but has no obvious installed size
A library listing can remain because you own or previously added the demo. Open its Manage menu and look for the uninstall or installation state. Then check the specific library in Storage. Do not infer that files remain solely because the title is still visible in your account.
Steam says the demo is installed after you removed its folder
That is the reason folder-first deletion is discouraged. Close any game and let Steam run, then use the library’s Repair Folder action and the application’s Installed Files verification option. If Steam continues to report an installation, use Steam’s own Manage → Uninstall command again rather than repeatedly deleting files.
The free-space number barely changes
Confirm that you checked the library containing the demo, not another drive. Then account for the fact that the 500 MB Windows and 1 GB macOS figures are requirements, not measured installation sizes. Patches, caches, and shader data can make the change smaller or larger than either published number.

You cannot find the library on the expected drive
Open Settings → Storage and inspect the complete library list. Add the alternate library with the + button if it is missing. The default Windows path is only a typical location; custom libraries use different paths.
You want to reinstall later
Keep any local save backup you made and check Steam Cloud before reinstalling. The demo can remain visible in a player’s library even after removal, and Steamworks states that players who already have it in their library can continue to see it for uninstall purposes but cannot launch it again from that obsolete demo entitlement. Availability and launch behavior can therefore depend on the demo’s current Steam status, not just on whether its files are present on your drive.
