To unblur a photo with Remini, open the app or Remini Web, pick the blurry image and run Enhance. Remini’s AI sharpens detail and cleans up the picture, then you compare the result with your original and save it. “Unblur” is shorthand: Remini’s own support says the AI reconstructs details that aren’t fully visible, so the result is a clearer-looking version, not a recovered original.
Step-by-step: unblurring a photo
- Open Remini and select the photo. Remini promotes a one-click upload-and-enhance flow. Smartphone photos, old photos stored on a phone or computer, images from the internet, and scanned or photographed prints are all supported starting points, according to Remini’s Help Center.
- Choose Enhance. Use the current equivalent control if your app version labels it differently. Labels and tools change over time, so follow what your version shows.
- Wait for processing. On Remini Web, the documented flow is: create an account, start a subscription, select and upload the file, then wait for the enhancement to finish.
- Adjust with the toolbar if offered. Remini’s Web help (updated May 15, 2026) describes an AI toolbar with Face Enhance, Beautify, Background Enhance and Color Correction. In that Web workflow, Background Enhance v1 is applied by default. Remini’s Help Center also says an automatically applied effect can be turned off where the option is present.
- Inspect the result. Look at the whole image at normal size, then zoom in on faces and any detail that matters.
- Export. On Remini Web, choose an output format and download. Per Remini’s support article, the default location is your Downloads folder, depending on device settings.
The Web requirement for an account and subscription is specific to the Web workflow. Don’t assume it describes mobile access. No single current price applies across regions and platforms, so check the price shown in your store or account.

How to get better results
- Keep the original file. Save the enhanced version as a separate copy.
- Fix one face at a time in group shots. Remini suggests cropping the face that needs attention and enhancing that crop separately.
- Try the available editing tools if the first pass has flaws. Remini acknowledges results can contain imperfections.
- Digitize prints first. A paper print has to become a digital image before Remini can process it. A scan or a phone photo works, per Remini. A flatbed scanner is optional, and unnecessary if your image is already digital.
What Remini can’t do
It reconstructs rather than recovers
Remini says its AI reconstructs elements that aren’t fully visible or clear. A sharpened face can look convincing while differing from the real one. For old family photos, identity questions, or any record where exact appearance matters, treat the output as an interpretation and compare it against the original.

Damage and hidden features limit the result
Remini’s Help Center (updated May 28, 2024) warns that heavy scratches, tears or severe damage can lead to unsatisfactory results. A feature completely covered by an object cannot be reconstructed. These are the vendor’s own statements, not an independent benchmark.

Privacy and access context
The US Apple App Store listing names Bending Spoons Apps ApS as the developer and labels Remini free with in-app purchases. It lists photos or videos under data not linked to the user, but these disclosures are developer-provided and Apple says it hasn’t verified them. They can differ by region, feature, age and platform. No universal retention period for uploaded photos is established in the sources reviewed, so read the current privacy policy before uploading sensitive images.
The same listing carries Remini’s claim of “over 100 million photos already revitalized.” That is a promotional figure from the vendor, not an audited statistic.
