If no notifications from one app appear

Open Settings > Notifications > App notifications, select the affected app, and turn on Allow notifications. On some Galaxy devices, the app’s controls are under Settings > Apps > [app] > Notifications. Samsung Singapore and Samsung US describe these notification controls.

On the app’s notification page, open Notification categories if available and enable the categories you want to receive. If categories are not shown, check Settings > Notifications > Advanced settings > Manage notification categories for each app, enable category management if it is off, then return to the app. Some apps do not provide categories, and controls vary by app and software version. Check whether the app is marked Deep sleeping in the app notification list. Samsung says an app in Deep sleeping status may not show notifications. Allow the app if you want its alerts. Samsung’s guidance covers this setting.

Open Settings > Notifications > Do not disturb. Turn Do not disturb off if you want alerts without its restrictions, or configure exceptions if you want it to remain on. Also check whether its notification-hiding options are suppressing alerts from the notification panel, status bar, pop-ups, or app badges. Samsung US explains Do not disturb controls and exceptions.
If only certain types of notification are missing
Open the app’s Notification categories and check the specific type of alert that is missing. Enable its notification permission and, if you want an audible or prominent alert, review the category’s available sound and alert settings. What you can change depends on the app; some apps do not expose categories.

If notifications appear but make no sound

Go to Settings > Sounds and vibration > Volume and raise Notifications volume.

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Hearing enhancements and make sure Mute all sounds is off.

A silent alert points to sound settings rather than necessarily to a blocked notification permission. Samsung Singapore’s notification troubleshooting guidance covers both checks.
Keep Do not disturb on while allowing selected alerts
In Settings > Notifications > Do not disturb, configure exceptions for the alerts you want to receive. Depending on your device, Samsung’s options can include selected apps, calls and messages, alarms, and sounds. Review the controls for hiding notifications as well: Do not disturb can suppress their appearance in the notification panel, status bar, pop-ups, or app badges. Samsung US describes the available Do not disturb settings.

If the core settings do not restore alerts
Samsung Gulf also recommends checking Power saving, Data Saver, lock-screen notification controls, background usage limits, the app cache, and app and system updates. Treat these as follow-up checks rather than assumed causes; available settings can differ by model. Samsung Gulf’s support article provides those additional troubleshooting steps.

Samsung’s instructions are published for particular regions and may show paths or labels that differ from those on another Galaxy model or software version. Search Settings for terms such as “App notifications,” “Notification categories,” or “Do not disturb” if a path does not match. The cited Singapore and Gulf pages are regional support guidance, not a promise that every Galaxy device uses identical menus.
