To make a TaoTronics device louder, raise its own volume control first, then check the volume on the connected phone, computer, TV, or other source. The right control depends on the device: TaoTronics earbuds, headphones, soundbars, and Bluetooth transmitters do not all work the same way. Identify your model and follow the matching checks below.
Start with the control for your device
Use the device-specific instructions rather than assuming every TaoTronics product has the same buttons. The controls below are documented for the product categories and guides linked here; check your model’s manual if its controls differ.

Wireless earbuds
For the earbuds covered by TaoTronics’ guide, tap the right earbud’s touch control once to increase volume and the left one once to decrease it. A tone indicates that the minimum or maximum has been reached. TaoTronics wireless-earbud instructions

For the headphones covered by TaoTronics’ guide, use a short press on Volume + to turn sound up or Volume – to turn it down. Holding these buttons can trigger other functions, so use a brief press for volume adjustment. TaoTronics Bluetooth-headphone instructions

Soundbar
Use the soundbar’s Volume + or Volume – control. If there is no sound, check whether it is muted. On the documented soundbar, the buttons do not operate normally in AUX mode; Play/Pause can still mute or unmute. Confirm the input mode and your model’s manual before treating an unresponsive volume button as a fault. TaoTronics soundbar instructions
Check the phone, computer, TV, or other audio source
After adjusting the TaoTronics device, raise the playback volume on the source as well. A low source level can make headphones seem quiet even when their own volume is turned up.

TaoTronics describes a specific case involving over-ear headphones connected to a Windows 8.1 computer: if the same headphones work normally with a phone or Mac, the computer’s music volume may be too low. For that documented computer-call issue, check the computer’s sound settings for the hands-free option. TaoTronics suggests updating the Bluetooth driver if the option is missing. This branch concerns call audio on the described computer setup, not ordinary music playback.

If you are using a wired connection
- Push the audio plug fully into the device and source.
- Try another compatible audio cable and another source device to isolate a loose connection or source problem.
- Raise the source’s playback volume and confirm that a speaker is set to the correct AUX input when applicable.
These checks can help identify the cause; they do not establish that every quiet device needs a replacement cable. On an aircraft, TaoTronics notes that some AUX systems use two sockets for left and right channels and advises using an airline adapter in wired mode. If a soundbar is quiet or silent
- Check that the cable is connected properly and the TV or audio source is sending sound to the soundbar.
- Confirm the soundbar is not muted; press Mute to restore sound if needed.
- Check that playback is active using Play/Pause.
- Raise the volume gradually.
- When applicable, set the TV’s audio output mode to match the soundbar’s selected mode.

If you are using a Bluetooth transmitter or adapter
A transmitter or adapter is not a headphone volume control. TaoTronics says some of its 2-in-1 Bluetooth adapters can stop transmitting when the input sound falls below a threshold, using a mute function intended to reduce noise and save power. If sound disappears only during quiet passages, check the source’s output level and the adapter setup before assuming the headphones are faulty. This behavior is specific to the adapter described by TaoTronics, not necessarily every Bluetooth transmitter.

If your setup also has audio/video delay, TaoTronics says low-latency playback requires aptX Low Latency support on the receiving Bluetooth device. This affects synchronization, not loudness. TaoTronics transmitter and adapter instructions
When the sound is distorted or still too quiet
For earbuds, debris can affect sound quality. TaoTronics advises cleaning with a dry, soft cloth and warns against inserting objects into the product. Do not use sharp tools or liquid cleaners based on this guidance. TaoTronics wireless-earbud instructions
If wired audio remains abnormal after checking the plug, cable, source, and input, TaoTronics says a defective unit may be the cause. Contact support to ask about the manual and any warranty or replacement options available for your model; eligibility depends on the product and current terms. TaoTronics support

Raise volume carefully
Start at a low level and increase gradually. TaoTronics advises against prolonged listening at high volume and against setting the sound so loud that you lose awareness of your surroundings. Do not make maximum volume the routine fix for a quiet source. TaoTronics wireless-earbud instructions
