To stream a prerecorded property tour continuously on YouTube Live, send the video to YouTube through an encoder such as OBS, set the source to repeat, and monitor the broadcast. YouTube receives an encoder’s live feed; uploading a video normally does not turn it into a live broadcast. This is a prerecorded tour on a live channel—not a live agent-led walkthrough or a guarantee that listing details remain current.
1. Prepare tour videos and listing details
Start with footage you have permission to broadcast. Check rights for the video, voiceover, music, and any identifiable people or private spaces. The YouTube policy page says, “All content in live streams must adhere to our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service”; YouTube may age-restrict or remove a stream, or restrict live-streaming access. That platform rule does not settle real-estate permissions or local privacy law. See YouTube’s live-streaming policy and eligibility guidance.
- Remove or update outdated prices, availability, agent contact details, and calls to action before broadcasting.
- Use a standard horizontal layout suited to the YouTube player. Preview the full video for crop, legible property details, audio, and transitions.
- For several properties, arrange the videos as a playlist and use brief interstitials to identify each property, disclose that the content is prerecorded, and direct viewers to current listing details.
- Check that the end and beginning of each video make a tolerable repeat. An abrupt cut, silence, or accidental black screen can become conspicuous when the clip loops.
These are production recommendations, not YouTube-mandated export settings.
2. Check that the channel can go live
YouTube’s current help guidance says the channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. It also states that streamers must be at least 16. Confirm eligibility before announcing a start time or scheduling a broadcast. Requirements can change; check YouTube’s current live-streaming requirements.

3. Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Choose the encoder workflow and create or schedule a broadcast.
- Set the title, description, privacy, and schedule. Make clear that viewers are watching prerecorded property-tour footage on a continuous stream.
- Follow the current Live Control Room prompts to connect an encoder or obtain the stream key. YouTube’s official encoder tutorial is the best reference for the current setup flow: Set up your encoder for live streaming.
Do not put a stream key in a public description, screen capture, or chat. Treat it like a password: anyone with access may be able to send a feed to your broadcast.
4. Connect OBS and loop the tour
OBS can send a local video source to YouTube. Its interface and source controls may vary by version, so verify the loop control in the OBS version you use. The following flow follows the general encoder process; YouTube documents encoder streaming, while OBS-specific steps are not a YouTube requirement.

- In OBS, open Settings and configure the stream service for YouTube RTMPS, or use the supported account connection if available.
- Paste the stream key from YouTube Live Control Room into OBS if you are connecting with a key. Keep it private.
- Add the tour file as a media source, or add a playlist using the playback sources available in your OBS version. Enable repeat/loop for a single video; for a sequence, make sure the playlist repeats.
- Check the scene in the OBS preview: verify the picture fills the intended frame, text is readable, audio is present, and the sequence transitions as expected.
- Start streaming from OBS and check the YouTube Live Control Room preview and stream status before sharing the link widely.
A stream key connects the encoder to the broadcast; the video source and its repeat behavior are controlled by the encoder. YouTube’s official materials establish the encoder workflow, but do not specify the exact OBS media-source loop setting. 5. Choose encoder settings your connection can sustain
YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends RTMPS for encrypted delivery and lists RTMP/RTMPS protocols, H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video, and AAC or MP3 audio. It recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval, and says the interval should not exceed four seconds. The supported options available to you depend on the encoder and hardware. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrate, and resolution guidance.

YouTube automatically transcodes live streams for viewers on different devices and network conditions. That does not mean your computer or connection can sustain every encoder setting: select a resolution and bitrate appropriate to the source and stable upload capacity.
6. Test the feed and monitor it
Before a public continuous stream, run a short private or unlisted test. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the planned stream and checking stream health. See YouTube’s encoder guidance.

- Watch the YouTube preview, not only the OBS preview, to catch problems between the encoder and YouTube.
- Listen for missing, clipped, or out-of-sync audio; inspect motion, transitions, crop, and text readability.
- Check YouTube’s stream-health messages during the test and while the stream is running.
- Confirm how start and stop behavior works in the current OBS and Live Control Room settings. Try the intended procedure before relying on unattended operation.
Assign someone to respond to broken playback, stale listing information, rights complaints, and viewer questions. A loop can continue while its content becomes inaccurate, so review the tour and its listing details on a schedule.
