Yes—Marvel’s Wolverine now lets you turn off several Senses cues, though not every cue is guaranteed to disappear. Update 1.002.001 adds a toggle for story-related Scent trails using the Hint button, which defaults to R3. An earlier update added separate toggles for three named collectible-related cues.
How to toggle story-related Scent trails
Update 1.002.001, released October 6, 2026, adds an option to toggle story-related Scent trails with the Hint button (R3 by default). Insomniac’s notes do not give a menu path for this control, so use the Hint button rather than looking for an undocumented settings route. The update notes describe this option specifically for story-related Scent trails; they do not establish that it hides every story-critical Senses cue.

Insomniac’s update 1.002.001 notes describe the added toggle and say the changes give players more control over Scents, Audio Cues, and Nightmare Roots.
Which other Senses cues can you turn off?
Update 1.001.006, released October 1, 2026, added individual on/off toggles for these named cues:
#1 Best Overall
- Marvel’s Wolverine is a new action-packed adventure from Insomniac Games
- Play as Wolverine and Ravage enemies with explosive brutality and unleash razor-sharp adamantium claws to deploy fast, fluid attacks and overcome impossible odds
- An Original, Emotionally Charged Story. Beneath Wolverine’s gruff exterior and violent temperament is a man fighting for a cause greater than himself
- A Global, Adrenaline-Fueled Journey where you slice into enemies across detailed locales such as the frosted Canadian Wilderness, the narrow streets of Tokyo, and the high and low districts of the island nation of Madripoor
- Whisky Bottle Scent Trails
- Material Crate Audio Clues
- Nightmare Door Roots
Those are distinct options for the listed cues, not a single master switch for all Senses effects. Insomniac’s update notes do not provide a full menu path for each toggle.
Insomniac’s update 1.001.006 notes also state: “Story-critical Senses will still appear in the world.” In other words, the listed toggles do not promise to suppress every cue needed for story progression.

Turning a cue off is different from changing how it looks
Insomniac’s accessibility list describes Senses Color Customization as a way to change the color of the Senses effect. Changing its color is not the same as turning it off. Navigation Assist is a separate feature: it shows a direction trail toward the nearest enemy or mission objective, rather than serving as the Senses toggle.

Why some cues may still appear
The sequence of updates matters: on September 25, 2026, update 1.001.005 reduced the opacity of Scent Trails and Audio Sense indicators, making them less intense, while Insomniac said it was exploring toggle options. The October 1 update introduced switches for the three named cues, and the October 6 update added the Hint-button control for story-related Scent trails. The earlier note’s warning that story-critical Senses may still appear remains an important limit; the later notes do not say that every such cue is now hidden by the new control.
Insomniac’s update 1.001.005 notes describe the opacity adjustment and its plans at that time.
