What this setting changes—and what it does not
Turning off Siri AI is a control for Siri. It should not be treated as a master switch for every Apple Intelligence feature: Apple documents separate controls for summaries and other features. Nor does turning Siri AI off change the separate choice about sharing data to improve Siri. The cited Apple instructions do not establish that turning Siri AI off deletes past conversations or data Apple may already hold.

If you want Siri available but fewer AI features, use the individual controls Apple provides rather than turning Siri off entirely. Apple lists separate settings for summaries and other Apple Intelligence capabilities in its iPhone feature-control guide. The precise switches available depend on the feature and your device and software.

Restrict Siri with Screen Time
Screen Time provides restrictions separate from the Siri settings page. Depending on the Siri version, Apple says Screen Time can block Siri, allow Siri Classic or Siri AI, or restrict selected capabilities. See Apple’s instructions for blocking features or content with Screen Time on iPhone.
Change Siri improvement sharing separately
To change the optional improvement-sharing preference, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements. Apple documents this choice separately from the Siri AI switch; opting in allows Apple to store and review a sample of audio recordings and transcripts. Follow Apple’s instructions for changing Improve Siri & Apple Intelligence or Improve Siri & Dictation for the exact options shown on your device.

Why the Siri AI option may be missing
Apple describes Siri AI as a beta feature on iOS 27 or later for Apple Intelligence-capable models, including iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 or later. Its guide says Siri AI starts in English and is initially unavailable in the EU on iOS. Apple Intelligence availability more broadly varies by language, region, and feature, so not every supported-language listing means Siri AI is available in that language. Check Apple’s current eligibility and availability details if the setting does not appear.
