To stop speed-camera alerts in Waze, open Settings on your phone and go to Alerts and reports > Reports > Cameras. You can silence driving alerts, hide camera reports from the map, or do both. Police reports are a separate category.
Choose what you want to turn off
Waze separates camera visibility from camera notifications. For a camera type, Show on map controls whether its report appears on the map. Alert while driving controls the voice alert and on-screen pop-up. The settings can be changed independently, so you can keep a visual cue while silencing spoken and pop-up alerts, or hide the report as well. Waze documents these controls on its Manage camera alerts help page.

- Silence the alert but keep the map marker: Turn off Alert while driving and leave Show on map on.
- Hide the map marker but retain driving notifications: Turn off Show on map and leave Alert while driving on.
- Suppress both: Turn off both settings for the camera type.
Turn off speed camera alerts
- Open Waze on your phone.
- Tap the menu, then tap Settings.
- Tap Alerts and reports > Reports > Cameras.
- Select Speed camera.
- Turn off Alert while driving to stop its voice alert and on-screen pop-up. Turn off Show on map as well if you also want to hide speed-camera reports from the map.
The two controls are separate. If you only switch off the driving alert, a camera report may still be visible on the map; if you only hide it from the map, the driving alert may still occur.

Waze treats Police and Cameras as separate report categories. To change police-report preferences, return to Reports, select Police, and adjust the preferences shown there. Waze’s customization guidance lists Police separately from Cameras, but the available alert types and controls can vary by location; do not assume the Police screen will have the same options as the camera screen. A mobile police camera, when offered as a camera type in your location, is managed under Cameras, not the separate Police report category. In Settings > Alerts and reports > Reports > Cameras, select Mobile police camera and turn off the setting or settings you do not want. This distinction matters if your goal is to stop camera warnings without changing other police-report preferences, or the reverse.
Manage Waze alerts when using Android Auto or CarPlay
Make the change on your phone after disconnecting it from the car interface. Waze says to manage alerts on the phone when using Waze in the car, and specifies disconnecting from Android Auto or CarPlay before changing the settings. Its instructions say phone changes apply when you use Waze in the car.

- Disconnect your phone from Android Auto or CarPlay.
- Open Waze on the phone and follow the relevant camera or Police settings path above.
- Reconnect to the car interface and use Waze with the updated preferences.
Which camera categories can appear?
Waze’s camera settings may include more than speed cameras. The help page lists speed, red-light, combined speed and red-light, stop-sign, mobile police, HOV or car-pool lane, bus-lane, mobile-phone, noise, safe-distance, and seat-belt cameras. These categories are not necessarily available in every location.

Turning off the setting for one type does not, by itself, turn off alerts for every other camera type. If you want to change more than one, return to the camera list and review each relevant type separately.

What to check if an alert still appears
- Check both camera controls. A map marker and a driving alert are governed by different settings. Confirm that you turned off the one you intended to disable.
- Check the selected type. Speed cameras, mobile police cameras, and other listed camera types have separate entries. Changing one does not necessarily change another.
- Make changes on the phone while disconnected from the car. If you were connected to Android Auto or CarPlay, disconnect and adjust Waze there before using it in the car again.
- Look for location-specific availability. Waze says alert categories can vary by location, so a category or control shown in one place may not appear in another.
Camera alerts depend on reports from map editors and partners. Waze may not know about a camera that has not been reported, so the settings control alerts for reports in Waze; they do not establish that every camera on a route is represented.
