First identify whether you mean an alert, a parcel photo, a worker’s profile photo, or sharing order information with a merchant; each can have a different control.
Identify what you want to control
“Delivery photo notification” can mean several different things. The distinction matters because changing one setting does not necessarily change the others.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Notification: a push alert, text, or email about an order or its delivery.
- Proof-of-delivery photo: an image showing where a parcel was left. Turning off alerts does not establish that the service stops taking or retaining this image.
- Worker profile photo: a courier’s identity photo shown in an order-tracking view.
- Order-data sharing: information such as order history shared with a merchant. This is separate from displaying a delivery image.
Menu labels and available controls can vary by app version and region. The paths below describe the controls documented by each service; they do not establish a universal photo opt-out.
Change notification settings by service
DoorDash
In the DoorDash app, go to Account → Account Settings → Notifications. DoorDash’s notification instructions describe order-update SMS preferences and app notification categories, including Store Offers, DoorDash Offers, and Recommendations. Marketing and ad-personalization controls are separate. The documented page does not identify a dedicated switch for proof-of-delivery photos.

Uber Eats
Manage Uber notification preferences in the Uber app or through your phone’s notification settings. Uber’s notification guidance distinguishes marketing communications from transactional messages. Unsubscribing from marketing does not necessarily stop receipts or safety and privacy updates.
Uber’s Stop sharing option appears in an order menu before checkout. As described in Uber’s order-history sharing instructions, it limits sharing order history with the store; it is not a control for delivery-photo display.

Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsConsider keeping order-status notifications enabled if you rely on them: Instacart warns that turning off all order-update notifications also removes alerts about replacements and refunds.

Amazon retail delivery
If an Amazon retail order is marked delivered, Amazon says to look for the image in the order details. Its delivery-photo guidance explains where to find it. Amazon’s privacy notice points generally to app and device notification settings, but the current official pages cited here do not confirm a customer-facing setting to disable Photo on Delivery.
If you need an authoritative answer for a particular account or shipment, contact Amazon through the support channel for that order. That is a way to ask about the specific delivery, not a verified promise that Amazon can disable its photo.

Amazon Shipping
Amazon Shipping is a distinct delivery service, so do not assume its notification behavior applies to every Amazon retail order. Its customer-experience page says photo proof is provided for most shipments and that “Customers who receive email notifications also get the delivery photo directly in their inbox.” If the photo arrived by email, first confirm that the shipment was handled by Amazon Shipping before applying this description.

A courier identity photo is not a parcel drop-off image. DoorDash says a Dasher photo and first name must be shown to customers during deliveries in California starting March 1, 2025. Its California Dasher Profile Pictures FAQ states: “Providing customers with your photo and first name is required by law in California starting March 1.” The FAQ says a Dasher cannot opt out while dashing in California. This is a California-specific rule about the worker’s profile information, not a general setting for delivery photos.

Choose the narrowest setting that solves the problem
- If you want fewer alerts, change the relevant push, SMS, or email preferences in the service or device settings.
- If you want to stop marketing messages, use marketing preferences rather than disabling transactional order updates.
- If you want to limit information shared with a merchant, check the service’s data-sharing control; Uber’s order-history option does not control photos.
- If you want to prevent a proof photo from being taken or shown, do not assume that muting notifications does so. The documented controls above do not establish a photo opt-out for DoorDash, Uber Eats, or Instacart, and Amazon retail’s current cited guidance does not confirm one.
