To stop Samsung Keyboard from vibrating as you type, go to Settings > General management > Samsung Keyboard settings > Swipe, touch and feedback > Touch feedback, then switch off Vibration. The route applies to the default Samsung Keyboard; the menus may differ by phone model, carrier, and software version.
Turn off vibration in Samsung Keyboard settings
- Open Settings.
- Tap General management.
- Tap Samsung Keyboard settings.
- Choose Swipe, touch and feedback, then tap Touch feedback.
- Switch off Vibration.

If you cannot find the keyboard vibration switch
Open keyboard settings from the toolbar
When Samsung Keyboard is open, tap its settings icon on the keyboard toolbar to reach keyboard settings. If the icon is missing, enable the keyboard toolbar first. Samsung’s guide to Samsung Keyboard features explains the toolbar and its settings shortcut.

Galaxy phones also have System vibration controls for feedback from touch interactions, keypads, keyboards, navigation gestures, charging, and camera use. This setting has broader scope than the keyboard’s own switch, so changing it may affect more than typing. The exact route and available controls vary by device and software; consult Samsung Canada’s sound and vibration guide, updated August 21, 2026, for the general controls.

If you use a different keyboard app
The Samsung Keyboard setting controls Samsung Keyboard, not necessarily another keyboard selected on your phone. Open the active keyboard app’s own settings and look for a vibration, haptic feedback, or touch feedback option. Samsung’s documented route is specifically for its default keyboard.
Keyboard vibration versus keyboard sound
Vibration and keypress sound are separate feedback controls. Turning off Vibration stops the keyboard’s haptic response; it does not by itself establish that keypress sounds are off. Samsung publishes separate sound instructions, and the sound menus can vary across Android versions; those sound paths are not the vibration steps above. See Samsung’s keyboard sound guidance.
