You can run the encoder on a venue computer or use a cloud playout service; a normal YouTube playlist by itself does not create a live broadcast. Before going public, enable live streaming, clear rights for everything in the videos, test the stream and plan how to handle YouTube’s archive limits.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified and eligible for live streaming. YouTube says first-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before launch. YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance has the current requirements.
- An ordered set of venue-tour videos and a playback method that can repeat them continuously.
- An encoder or cloud playout service that sends the video feed to YouTube Live. YouTube supports software and standalone hardware encoders; its encoder directory lists Gyre as a cloud option for 24/7 prerecorded-video streams.
- A tested internet connection with enough upload capacity, plus permission to use every visual and audio element in the videos in a live broadcast.
Choose where the playlist will play
The encoder creates the live feed; YouTube receives that feed. The main practical difference is where the continuous playback runs:

For a small venue already comfortable operating streaming software, a local encoder can be sufficient. If you want playback to continue without keeping a venue computer online, compare cloud playout services and their current capabilities. Hardware is an option, not a YouTube requirement.
Prepare the playlist and clear its rights
Put the tours in the intended order
Arrange the videos in the sequence prospective couples should see them: for example, a brief overview first, followed by ceremony spaces, reception rooms and practical details. Set the selected playback tool to repeat the playlist. The exact controls vary by product, so follow that tool’s current instructions rather than assuming a YouTube Studio playlist will itself loop into a live feed.

Check every element in every recording
A venue tour can contain more than the venue’s own footage. Review background music, artwork, photographs, logos, recognizable people and any footage from private events. Confirm that your permissions cover use in a continuous live broadcast on YouTube, not merely the original filming or a one-time post.
YouTube’s livestream terms say the content provider represents and warrants that it has the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights involving artists, labels, publishers and other rights participants. YouTube also scans live streams for third-party content. A stream may be interrupted or terminated if a match remains; even when you have a license, the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID. Resolve that with the relevant rights owner before launch. Check releases for identifiable people and private events under the laws and contracts that apply to your venue.

Create the YouTube Live stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream, then set its title, description, visibility and other stream details. Choose public visibility only when the page and test are ready for prospective couples.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that broadcast. Enter them in the encoder or cloud service’s YouTube destination settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone who gets it can send a feed to your broadcast. Keep it out of public documents and rotate it if it is exposed. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain the connection workflow.
- Set the video output to match your source and connection. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval. Choose a resolution and bitrate your tested upload can sustain; a higher setting is not useful if the connection cannot carry it reliably.
- Use RTMPS when supported. YouTube recommends RTMPS, which encrypts the connection between the encoder and YouTube.
- Configure continuous playback. In your chosen software or service, select the prepared playlist and enable repeat/loop playback. Start the encoder feed to the stream you created.
Test the stream before publishing it
- Measure upload capacity under realistic conditions. Include other devices and business traffic likely to share the connection. YouTube recommends 20% upload-bandwidth headroom above the total streaming bitrate; treat that as a minimum planning buffer, not a substitute for testing stability.
- Start the encoder before the planned launch. Allow setup time and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Check that YouTube is receiving video and audio, the correct tour is playing, and the stream does not repeatedly disconnect.
- Check the viewer experience. Open the watch page on another device, including a phone, and confirm the picture, sound, title and visibility are right. Listen for audio that is too quiet, clipped or unintentionally captured from the venue.
- Monitor the broadcast. Keep an eye on the feed and YouTube status, especially after the first launch or any change to the playlist, encoder settings or network.

Plan for the archive limit
Do not treat YouTube’s automatic archive as a guaranteed recording of a 24/7 broadcast. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be archived automatically, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all; DVR rewind can also be limited beyond 12 hours. If you need a dependable master file, make and retain an independent recording. If a YouTube archive is essential, end and restart the broadcast at intervals shorter than 12 hours. That creates interruptions and separate sessions rather than one uninterrupted live event, so decide whether archive availability or a continuous session matters more.
