To save a live webpage as a PNG with CloudConvert, open its Website PNG Screenshot tool, enter the page URL, adjust any available capture settings, and run the screenshot. CloudConvert says the tool uses Chrome, captures the full page by default, and lets you customize screen resolution and other parameters.
Capture a live webpage in CloudConvert
- Open CloudConvert’s Website PNG Screenshot tool.
- Enter the URL of the webpage you want to capture.
- Adjust the available settings if you need a different screen resolution or other capture parameters. The default is a full-size screenshot.
- Run the capture, then save the PNG CloudConvert provides. The product information does not specify the exact button labels or download-screen sequence, so these may differ as the interface changes.
This route is for rendering a live URL as a screenshot. The tool is Chrome-based, so the result represents a browser-rendered page rather than a direct conversion of the page’s source code.
Use the CloudConvert API for repeat captures
For an application or recurring workflow, CloudConvert documents a website-capture API. A job uses the capture-website task with the webpage URL and PNG as the output format, followed by an export task to retrieve the result. The API also documents full-page capture, custom viewport dimensions and zoom, waits for a selector, optional authorization headers for protected resources, synchronous or asynchronous processing, and storage integrations. These API capabilities should not be assumed to be controls in the simpler website tool.
CloudConvert’s API documentation includes an example job with a URL, PNG output, dimensions, an element wait, and an export task. Consult its website screenshot API documentation for the current request structure and available parameters before building an integration.

Choose the right input route
Live webpage URL
Use the Website PNG Screenshot tool when the input is a published webpage address. It renders the page and captures a screenshot.
HTML file
CloudConvert also offers an HTML-to-PNG converter that starts with an HTML file upload. That is a separate workflow, not the URL-based live webpage screenshot. The converter information does not establish how a local file’s external scripts, fonts, or other assets will load, so do not assume it will reproduce a hosted page exactly.

Free use and pricing
CloudConvert’s pricing page lists 10 free credits per day for personal use, testing, and hobby projects. It says credit use depends on the conversion type and processing time, so the allowance is not a guarantee that every number of screenshots will fit within it. Check the current pricing page or its calculator for the cost of your particular use.
The Website Screenshot API page advertises a starting price of $0.008 per file. That is a vendor-stated starting price, not a confirmed fixed charge for every URL capture; actual credit consumption depends on the conversion and processing time.
