These steps are documented for the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra by the third-party ITJungles tutorial published June 1, 2025. Samsung does not provide a model-by-model reference in the sources available here, so menu names and whether the switch exists can vary by model, software version or carrier build. If you cannot find it, do not assume another setting has the same effect.
What the 3GPP AT Commands option is for
AT commands are a way for software to communicate with a modem. The 3GPP specification TS 27.007 Release 11, version 11.8.0 defines a broad set of commands for user equipment, including modem functions. A standard describes possible commands and behavior; it does not mean a particular Samsung phone exposes every command or supports every use case. Soracom’s AT command guide likewise notes that support depends on the modem and its configuration.

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. For additional hearing aid compatibility information, please refer to Samsung’s official support documentation.

When to change the toggle—and what not to expect
Switch it on only when you have a defined technical task that needs modem AT command access, and switch it off again when you are finished if you do not need it. The available sources do not quantify a security risk or document a specific harm caused by this setting, so it is not justified to call it either dangerous or harmless.

Limits of reports about other Galaxy models
A Samsung Community discussion about using a Galaxy S24 as a modem includes a user report of an SMS workflow after enabling the option, alongside reported limitations. That is an anecdote, not compatibility documentation or a guarantee that the same workflow will work on another phone. The available sources do not establish which Galaxy models or firmware versions expose this setting, whether carrier builds change its behavior, or which commands Samsung supports.
